Committee Announces Date for 2024 Aba International Trade Fair
The Planning Committee of the 2024 Aba International Trade Fair in Abia State has unveiled details for the 20th edition of the Trade Fair.
Speaking at the World Press Conference at the Secretariat Complex of Aba Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ACCIMA), Chairman of the Committee Chief Nwaka Inem said this year's event will take place between 28 November to 7th December 2024.
Inem, who doubles as the Special Adviser to the Governor on Trade Commerce and Industry, described the timing as most auspicious as it sets the tone for Christmas shopping activities and provides participants ample time to prepare for what promises to be a lifetime experience.
He said the 2024 Aba International Trade Fair will be significantly different from what obtained in the previous years as it has been structured as a joint undertaken between the State Government and ACCIMA.
"This is to broaden the scope, reach and impact of Trade Fair for Aba business ecosystem, and send a signal to the world that the glory of this great city as a pivotal business destination in Nigeria and across the West African region, is returning," he said.
He disclosed that the Aba Mega Mall will be used as venue for Trade Fair, to accommodate the huge crowd projected to participate, adding that the location is ideal as it is secured, accessible and spacious.
Chief Inem revealed that two reputable consultants, Vivarmark Communication limited and Global Flourish Exhibitions limited have been engaged to work with the committee to put up a world class trade fair,
He noted that many countries have indicated interest in participating in the trade fair, which sole aim is to announce Aba's rising status as an economic powerhouse and major regional business hub
Also, the President, Aba Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ACCIMA), Sir Geoffrey Uzoagbara, expressed the hope that the aim of the trade fair would be achieved, assuring that everything would be done to make it a success.
"Over the years we have been holding trade fairs but this year, we have added it 'international' in terms of what the state is looking at. This is to highlight what the state is now. We have not had it like this before in terms of relationship with the government," he noted.
In their reactions, the Managing Director of Global Flourish Exhibitions limited, Felix Ekarika and the representative of Vivarmark Communication limited, Marcus Ijioma saluted the state government for repackaging the trade fair and said that the focus is to attract direct foreign investment.
