Ikpama Aladuru Fortune has won the 2024 Students Union Government (SUG) presidential election of the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike. Comrade Aladuru, from the College of Physical and Applied Sciences (COLPAS) of the University, polled a total of 660 votes to defeat his closest opponent, Onuegbu Favour, from the College of Engineering and Engineering Technology, who scored 473 votes. Nnanna Mayor Emmanuel, from the College of Natural Sciences, came third with 324 votes.

The SUG election which was held electronically on Wednesday also saw the emergence of Oka Hadassah Adaoma as the Vice-President, and Ifeanyi Okwuoha as the Secretary General. The seat of the Assistant Secretary General was clinched by Onyebinanma Favour Chioma, while Chibueze David Ibe won the position of Director of Welfare.

Other winners at the election were Onyedikachi Chioma Ribena who emerged as Director of Socials, and Chinemerem Jonathan Chimeremeze who won the position of Director of Finance. Chinyere Favour Chizaram won the seat of Director of Treasury, while Uchegbusi John Chiemelie and Mbah Chimaobi W. emerged as Director of Transport and Director of Sports, respectively.

Seventy Six (76) members of the Student Representative Council (SRC) were also elected across the 11 colleges of the University.

The Dean Students affairs, Michael Okpara University of Agriculture has announced that the SUG elections will be holding today.

1. VOTING WILL COMMENCE BY 12 NOON AND END 3 HOURS LATER.

2. LINK TO THE VOTING PLATFORM WILL BE SENT AND WILL BE ACCESSIBLE ON THE MOUAU WEBSITE AND ALSO THROUGH WHATSAPP.

3. STUDENTS AFTER ACCESSING THE VOTING SITE SHOULD TYPE IN THEIR MATRICULATION NUMBER AND CLICK ON GENERATE OTP.

4. THE GENERATED OTP WILL BE SENT TO THEIR PHONE NUMBERS AND EMAIL.

5. THEY SHOULD LOGIN WITH THE OTP TO BE ABLE TO CAST THEIR VOTES.

6. STUDENTS MUST SELECT THEIR COLLEGE TO BE ABLE TO VOTE FOR THE SRC MEMBERS IN THEIR COLLEGE.

7. STUDENTS MUST VOTE FOR ALL EXECUTIVE POSITIONS AND CHOOSE 5 SRC FROM THEIR COLLEGE BEFORE THEY WILL BE ABLE TO SUBMIT THEIR VOTES.

8. AFTER VOTING FOR ALL POSITIONS, SCROLL DOWN AND CLICK ON PREVIEW AND THEN SUBMIT.

9. THIS WILL BE THE PROCESS.

10. LIVE VIEW OF THE RESULTS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR ALL ON THE VOTING PLATFORM.
