Vice President of Nigeria, Kashim Shettima has warned South Africa that Nigeria will no longer tolerate the mistreatment of Nigerians living in the country. 🇳🇬🇿🇦

Shettima made the statement on August 31, 2026 in Luanda Angola while representing President Bola Tinubu at an African Union meeting.

He condemned xenophobic attacks against Nigerians and other Africans in South Africa and called for Nigerians to be treated with dignity and respect.

The Vice President also reminded South Africa of Nigerias role in supporting the liberation of Southern African countries during the struggle against colonialism and apartheid.

A delegation of Ugandan Members of Parliament has arrived in Kenya for training on governance, ethics and integrity.

The training is focused on helping the lawmakers become better leaders and understand the importance of accountability and ethical conduct in public service.

The programme is being carried out with the involvement of Kenya’s Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.

The lawmakers are learning more about good governance, fighting corruption and maintaining high ethical standards while serving the public.

The training also gives Uganda an opportunity to learn from Kenya’s experience in promoting accountability and integrity in public institutions.

Ugandan TV host Simon Kaggwa Njala says his viral 2012 'Why are you gay?' question was silly on Jibber with Jaber podcast. 🇺🇬

He reflected on the NBS TV Morning Breeze debate with LGBTQ activist Pepe Julian Onziema.

Njala said the question was unprofessional and unfair, and that he sounded silly and was nervous during the live show.

The clip became a global meme and still follows him today. He called it a lesson in journalism.

Senegalese star, Sadio Mané is currently the highest earning African player in the Saudi Pro League.🇸🇳

He earns a reported €50 million approx. $58.1 million per year in base salary.

Mané ranks third among the highest paid players in the entire Saudi Pro League, behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.

The former Liverpool and Bayern Munich forward joined Al Nassr in 2023 and remains one of the biggest African stars in the league.

France-born Manchester United defender Leny Yoro has reportedly decided to represent the Elephants of Côte d'Ivoire.🇨🇮

Yoro, who has represented France at youth level, was also eligible to play for Côte d'Ivoire through his parents.

He was honored backstage with a BRIT plaque on Monday, July 15, 2024 at Koko Camden, London.

The intimate surprise concert celebrated 5 years of his breakthrough 2019 album, African Giant.

This comes one month after he received a BRIT plaque for 1 billion UK streams.

Brighton midfielder Malick Yalcouyé, who was born in Mali but raised in Ivory Coast, has been defended by his childhood academy after fans questioned whether he is really 20 years old. 🇨🇮🇲🇱

He came through the ASEC Mimosas academy in Abidjan and now represents Ivory Coast at youth international level.

The young star scored his first Premier League goal in Brighton's 3-4 defeat at Chelsea on 30 August, but social media quickly focused on his appearance, claiming he looked far older.

In response, ASEC shared a series of dated photos going back to 2018, showing him as a young teenager in the academy's kit as proof of his real age.

The club urged people to drop the "unnecessary polemics and unhealthy debates," while reports linked his mature look to chronic alopecia, a hair-loss condition he has dealt with since his youth.
