For years, Sanju Bhagat had lived with an unusually large, protruding belly that caused him breathing difficulties and social embarrassment.
When his condition became life-threatening, doctors at Tata Memorial Hospital prepared for what they assumed would be routine tumor removal surgery. Instead, they discovered something unprecedented: a partially formed human body with limbs, hair, and ge****ls inside Bhagat's abdomen.
Medical experts determined that Bhagat had been born with an extremely rare condition called "fetus in fetu," where one twin develops inside the other during pregnancy. His twin brother had been growing inside him for over three decades, sustained by Bhagat's blood supply.
The successful surgical removal made international headlines and provided valuable insights into this mysterious condition, which occurs in only one in 500,000 births.
