According to the Commission, the decision follows recent reports and a review of internal administrative processes. Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has directed that the recruitment process revert to the original list of successful candidates published online weeks ago, in a bid to restore transparency and fairness.
Speaking on behalf of their respective communities, Danbaba Rugange of Bachama and Zakaria Ibrahim of Chobo pledged to uphold the peace accord and ensure harmonious coexistence. They reaffirmed their commitment to returning peace to Lamurde and preventing future conflicts.
Governor Fintiri expressed deep concern over the loss of innocent lives and properties, describing the incident as tragic and unacceptable. He emphasized that the protection of civilians remains a top priority of his administration and assured residents that justice will prevail.

It could be recalled that the communal clash was a result of a lingering farmland dispute between the Bachama and Tsoho (Chobo) communities, which began as a quarrel among the youths in July but snowballed into confrontational, claiming 13 lives, displacing hundreds in both communities, with properties worth millions destroyed.
A peace agreement has been reached between the Bachama and Chobo communities in Lamurde Local Government Area after a dialogue convened at the instance of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
