GRATITUDE HAS A MEMORY
A few years ago, there was a woman who prayed for things many people take for granted today.
She prayed for a roof that didn't leak when it rained.
She prayed for food that would last beyond tomorrow.
She prayed for a phone that would not switch off in the middle of an important call.
Every night, she asked God for "just a little more."
Today, her life is not perfect.
There are still bills to pay.
There are still dreams she has not achieved.
There are still places she hopes to go.
Yet sometimes she forgets that she is already standing in prayers she once whispered through tears.
That is what happens to many of us.
We become so focused on where we are going that we stop appreciating how far we have come.
Gratitude in life is not a function of being where you want to be.
It is remembering where you are coming from.
The journey may not be over, but the distance already covered deserves recognition.
So before you complain about what is missing, pause and remember what has changed.
Remember the battles you survived.
Remember the doors that opened.
Remember the strength you didn't know you had.
You may not be where you want to be yet, but you are no longer where you used to be.
And that is worth thanking God for today.
What is one thing in your life today that you once prayed for?
