United Nations International Day of Elimination Violence against Women (IDAVEW) was on November 25th... The following 16 Days are full of activities .. Nov 25 to Dec 10, 2024.

We will not stop until Violence is Eliminated.

Note that anyone can be abused - girl, boy, woman, man... Abuse is not gender sensitive; abuse is not age sensitive. It is neither race sensitive nor education sensitive... Anyone is susceptible to ABUSE.

WHEN YOU BECOME TOO FAMILIAR WITH YOUR SPOUSE...

1. You see no need to use courteous words such as "Thank you", "Please", "Sorry" to your spouse

2. You will use the excuse of "We are married not dating", or "We've known each other long", or "I don't have time" to justify why you no longer do special things for and with your spouse

3. You will look for excuses not to do things with your spouse. You would rather leave your spouse and be with other people

4. You don't feel the pain when your spouse is hurting like you used to. The cries and needs of your spouse don't move you anymore

5. You see no need to appreciate your spouse; after all, he/she is doing what they are meant to do as a husband/wife

6. You listen more to the opinions of others than your spouse's

7. You can see missed calls and text messages from your spouse and not respond, and feel nothing

8. Other people see your spouse's good attributes and celebrate your spouse; but you see your spouse just as an ordinary, casual person; nothing special

9. You don't bother to explain yourself or be accountable to your spouse

10. Your marriage is going through issues but you don't bother to address them. You know your spouse is going no where since you two are legally married, or you have children or too much is at stake

11. You don't bother to correct the areas your spouse is asking you to change

12. You work on impressing other people, not your spouse

13. You can choose not to come back home and not bother to inform your spouse of your whereabouts

14. You can't even give your spouse eye contact to show respect and that you are paying attention

15. S*x is no longer a celebration of your love but a rushed activity to give you an or**sm when you are h***y. You are using your spouse's body to give you pleasure

Honour and respect your spouse. Don't become too familiar

Did you know that some actions and treatment you mete out to your spouse can land you in jail or attract a fine? All actions categorized as abuse or domestic violence are punishable by the Nigerian Law...

That you married a person doesn't mean the person is no longer human or has lost his/her legal rights!

The person is not a property as some may claim to have 'paid'! Your spouse is not an object or a 'thing' you can or should play with... He or she is a full fledged Adult human with civic and legal rights.

In the next few days and weeks, I am going to be sharing some actions that are tagged as Abuse.

The intent is not for an offended or abused spouse to pursue legal suits but for you to be informed and avoid those acts as much as possible; give regard to your spouse and upholding the tenets of shared-humanity.

Note that Abuse is not gender exclusive. A wife can abuse the husband; a husband can abuse a wife.

Romans 12:18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.

If we are expected to obey the laws of the country, how much more the Laws of God? He expects us to treat everyone fairly especially our spouses.

It's important to do the best we can for the peace and safety of others.👌

Please if you have divorce in your agenda, kindly stay single.

People are really messing up the Christian marriage. Making mockery of an institution designed and ordained by God.

Coming to the altar to make vows you don't intend to keep is hypocrisy, deceit and greatest dishonour to God.

Marriages don't succeed because you married the right partner, marriages succeed because you do the right thing.

When you do the right thing, nothing can cause divorce in your marriage.

What is the right thing to do? Matthew 7:12 do unto others what you want them to do unto you.

Some people cannot even eat the breakfast they serve. Some people cannot even marry themselves.... They know how terrible they are but want the world to see them as saints and angels 😇....

The remarriage of Paul Nwokocha is a rude shock🫨 😲
I know of a certain denomination (close to me) that permitted a supposed MOG to remarry... But the shocker is, the second wife has also left. Question: will they allow him to marry the third?

Men fix your attitudes, divorcing and remarrying only makes you a loser.
Be the head and provide proper leadership.
What chased away the first wife will chase away the second wife unless she decides to pretend.

Dear lady, if he chases away his first wife to marry you, hehehehehe hehehehehe 😂🤣; he will chase you away and marry another unless you want to stay put to prove us wrong 🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂. On that, happy staying put🙏
