BREAKING NEWS: Ademola Adeleke sacked as Governor of Osun state

Senator Ademola Adeleke has been sacked as Governor of Osun state by an Election Petition Tribunal chaired by Justice Tertse Kume.

The tribunal sacked Adeleke following claims of overvoting in some polling units across the State.

In the majority judgement issued by two judges against one, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ordered that the Certificate of Return issued to Adeleke be withdrawn and issued to Adegboyega Oyetola.

Portuguese football superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, has completed a transfer to Saudi Arabian side, Al-Nassr following his bitter departure from the English Premier League giants, Manchester United.

The 37-year-old had been without a club since United mutually terminated his contract in November, ending a tumultuous second spell at Old Trafford.

He was sacked after an explosive and unsanctioned interview with Piers Morgan, in which he criticised manager Erik ten Hag and club owners the Glazers while claiming that he was "betrayed" by the club.

Now the five-time Ballon d'Or winner has found a new team in Al-Nassr where he is expected to earn around £173million per year in the Middle East.

A statement from the club on Friday night, December 30 read: "This is more than history in the making.

"This is a signing that will not only inspire our club to achieve even greater success but inspire our league, our nation and future generations, boys and girls to be the best version of themselves. Welcome, Cristiano, to your new home."

Ronaldo added: "Al Nassr's vision is very inspiring and impressive. I look forward to a different league experience in a different country. I am excited to join my team-mates as soon as possible."

Al-Nassr currently sit at the top of the Saudi Pro League, having won seven of their opening 10 matches.

Football legend Pele, regarded by many as one of the greatest footballers of all time, has passed on at the age of 82.

Pele who has been receiving chemotherapy for bowel cancer, was admitted to a hospital in Sao Paulo earlier this month having contracted a respiratory infection after a bout of Covid-19.

The Brazilian soccer star who rivaled Muhammad Ali as the world’s most popular and recognizable athlete, died on Thursday, December 29, at a Sao Paulo hospital. His agent Joe Fraga confirmed his death on Thursday evening.

Indonesia’s parliament on Tuesday approved legislation that would outlaw s£x outside marriage in a move critics said was a huge setback to rights in the world’s most populous Muslim country.

After the new criminal code was endorsed by all nine parties in a sweeping overhaul of the legal code, deputy house speaker Sufmi Dasco Ahmad banged the gavel to signal the text was approved and shouted “legal.”

A revision of Indonesia’s criminal code, which stretches back to the Dutch colonial era, has been debated for decades.

Rights groups had protested against the amendments, denouncing a crackdown on civil liberties and political freedoms, as well as a shift towards fundamentalism in Muslim-majority Indonesia, where secularism is enshrined in the constitution.

“However, it is time for us to make a historical decision on the penal code amendment and to leave the colonial criminal code we inherited behind.”

A provision in the text, which still needs to be signed by the president, states the new criminal code will be applicable in three years.

Nollywood actor, Gbenro Ajibade, took to his Instagram Stories to rant about a one-night stand who wants to remain permanently in his life.

The actor, who now lives in the US, called out a certain African American woman who shares the "national cake" with the public but when he went to collect "small testing", she attempted to settle permanently in his life.

"Aunty, please come and be going," he wrote.

The man who stole singer, Lady Gaga's pets and shot her dog walker last year has been sentenced to 21 years in prison.

James Howard Jackson, one of three men and two accomplices who participated in the violent robbery, pleaded no contest to one count of attempted murder, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.

Jackson and others drove around Hollywood on Feb. 24, 2021 'looking for French bulldogs,' prosecutors said previously. They found Lady Gaga's dog walker, Ryan Fischer, 41, with the pop star's three pets named Asia, Koji, and Gustav.

Jackson shot Fischer during the robbery near Sunset Boulevard, during which two of the dogs were taken. A nearby doorbell camera recorded the dog walker screaming 'Oh, my God! I've been shot!' and 'Help me!' and 'I´m bleeding out from my chest!' Fischer lost part of a lung after the shooting.

This is the most difficult news in Nigeria as of today as Ifeanyi Adeleke, the 3-year-old son of Music superstar, Davido and his fiancee, Chioma Rowland has sadly died.

The tragic death occured on Monday, October 31. Ifeanyi died by drowning at his dad's Banana Island home. He was rushed Evercare Hospital in Lekki where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The couple had traveled for a family gathering to Ibadan yesterday and had left Ifeanyi with his minders who can't explain how he entered the pool without being noticed and drowned.

We gathered that quite a number of people at Davido's House when the incident happened have been arrested.

A distraught and inconsolable Davido was removed from Evercare Hospital and taken to his father's house where he remains as at press time.

Quite a number of Davido's industry friends are at the hospital this night.

This is so sad. May God give Davido and Chioma the fortitude to bear this deep loss.

Singer Harrysong has been arrested over his beef with music executive, Soso Soberekon.

The singer was picked up this morning at the airport immediately he arrived Nigeria.

Recall Harrysong had claimed Soso Soberekon was his enemy and that Soso at a point had sent boys to assassinate him.

Shortly after the claim, Soso asked the singer to tender a public apology and also threatened to sue him for defamation.

Harrysong then fired back and mocked how small Soso’s pr**k is.

Sources say, the police will question Harrysong over the matter and then decide if he could go or be detained.
