DIGITAL MARKETING CONT'D
Difference Between Traditional Marketing and Digital Marketing.
Traditional marketing depends on physical or broadcast channels like radio, TV, print, and posters.
Digital marketing relies on online or electronic channels such as social media, search engines, websites, and emails—making it easier to measure, target, and interact with specific audiences.
So, while traditional marketing is often one-way (you talk to the audience), digital marketing is two-way—you can engage, listen, and respond.
Now, if you're to promote a business, which of the two marketing means would you prefer to adopt?
Your answer is sure as mine; Digital marketing! Reason: Businesses prefer digital marketing not only because it reaches more people but because it allows them to target specific groups, track performance in real time, and spend less for better returns. For example, instead of paying for a billboard that everyone sees, a business can run an ad that only reaches women aged 25–40 in Enugu who are interested in real estate or education.
That level of precision is what makes digital marketing powerful.
For me, Facebook is one of the best platforms for marketing because:
It allows location-based targeting, meaning you can focus your adverts only on people within your town or even within a few kilometers.
It supports affordable paid ads, so even a small business can advertise effectively.
It also encourages community interaction, where people can comment, share, and recommend your business to others.
So, for that your business, Facebook is both practical and powerful.
Let's stop here for today.
