What do you think is really holding the South-East back?

We’ve been out on the streets, hearing directly from the people — traders, students, artisans, and everyday voices from across the East. And trust us, they didn’t hold back. From culture to leadership, economy to unity, everyone had something to say about the challenges and hopes for Ala Igbo.

These are the real conversations shaping our region’s future.
Hear what the voices of the East had to say.

Dr. Sam Amadi raises the alarm on the disturbing trend of hate speech targeted at the Igbo people. A trend now openly entertained and even supported by those in high places, including the Senior Special Adviser to the President, Abike Dabiri.

He calls on Nigerian leaders to rise above silence, defend the dignity of the Igbo name, and stop the normalization of hate.

⚠️ Hate speech destroys unity. Silence only fuels division.

Do you think our leaders are doing enough to protect the image of Ndigbo?

"At that point of no return, an innocuous looking legal challenge will materialize questioning GEJ’s eligibility to run under the constitution. They will sue him, his party, and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and will ask the courts to restrain INEC from recognizing him as a candidate in the election.

The suit will slow walk its way to a decision. Then, suddenly, around the week before the vote, judgment will come down restraining the party from presenting GEJ as a candidate and restraining the INEC from having him on the ballot. Any serious threat to the incumbent’s ambitions will have been judicially squelched. The script is so easily authored, the ruling party must be licking its chops at the idea of a Jonathan candidacy. There can be no better political gift for the incumbent president and his ruling party.“

One week into the voter registration exercise, reports show that the South-East is falling behind other regions. This raises serious concerns about our readiness to participate fully in the democratic process.

Every registration matters. If our voices are to be heard, we must turn up, get registered, and encourage others to do the same.

The future of our region and Nigeria at large depends on active participation. Let’s not wait until it’s too late; the time is now!

The answers were powerful, emotional, and eye-opening. From frustration to hope, the voices of our people reflect the real issues facing Igbo land today.

Now it’s your turn. Watch the full video and tell us what YOU think in the comments. Do you agree with the voices on the street? 👇

Hotel Presidential in Enugu was once the pride of the South-East, a place where leaders, royalty, and global figures gathered. Over time, it fell into ruins and became a symbol of neglect. Today, hope returns as restoration work brings it back to life.

Across the region, projects like the Enyimba International Hotel in Aba are also being revived. These efforts show us that with the right leadership, abandoned dreams can rise again and serve the people as they were meant to.

Good governance is not about starting new projects for show. It is about finishing what has been started, honoring the people’s investment, and building legacies that last. Let’s keep calling for leaders who complete, not just begin.
