The continuous abandonment of Okota in infrastructure projects can be alluded to our docility and the kleptocratic leadership within the community.
We continue to sell our voice and rights to selfish people who are paraded as community leaders . These political stakeholders and leaders are in business of mortgaging the community for their personal benefits hence they can't call the attention of the authorities or representatives to the need of the community.
Post 2021 local council elections and Post 2023 general elections the community has not witnessed any significant development. While other wards within Isolo lcda and Oshodi Isolo constituency2 are shortlisted for road construction or undergoing rehabilitation.
Okota which has two wards Apena and okota wards in Isolo lcda is completely neglected by the Olasoju led council administration without any significant project, amenity and infrastructure rehabilitation . His administration has embarked on media propaganda and charade to deceive unsuspecting constituents on a failed administration.
Hon. Ladi Ajomale who represents Oshodi Isolo constituency2 in the house of assembly who is also from Okota is absent in administration of governance and delivering of quality representation . While Hon Onuakalusi member house of representatives omitted Okota in his list of consistency road projects.
The road development in okota is credited to the industrious and cooperative residents who took it upon themselves to improve the community in their little way.
However we must speak up and call on constituted authority and representative to fulfill their obligations to the good people of Okota in the administration of good governance and quality representation. Okota is strategic and it connects Isolo lcda to Amuwo LG, Ejigbo lcda, Ikotun-igando lcda and Itire-ikate lcda hence the need for development of link roads .
