Nigeria’s Dangote Petroleum Refinery has delivered its first petrol cargo to the United States, signaling the facility’s entry into the global fuel export market. The shipment, carried aboard the vessel Gemini Pearl, departed Lagos about two weeks ago and berthed in New York on Monday, according to vessel-tracking data from MyShipTracking. The system, unveiled on Monday in Lagos, is expected to clear a 15-year backlog of abandoned cargo while addressing corruption in the clearance process.
