In Jesus's 33 short years on earth, there were folks who made themselves his adversaries and enemies. Whilst not comparing ourselves to Jesus, point is, enemies rise against you because they are uncomfortable with who you are.
Enemies only confirm that you represent something.

COULD HE BE NIGERIA'S MOST CONTROVERSIAL LEADER?

After carefully staying away from current happenings in the land, I finally reacted yesterday, to the shocking responses from Nigerians from every region, on President Buhari's demise.

The bile, the hate and the resentment expressed by Nigerians, was both shocking and eye-opening for me.
I did not know he was despised this much, especially even amongst Northerners, who I earlier thought adored him.

The reactions of Nigerians confirm the verdict of our country men on his eight years of leadership.
Verdict was damning. The pain was deeper than I imagined.

Could he really be the most controversial of Nigeria's leaders?

Twenty seven years ago, June 8th 1998, Lagos where I resided at the time and I believe, also several other cities erupted in spontaneous jubilation over the sudden unexpected demise of General Sani Abacha.
Folks were dancing, offering drinks to passers-by ,celebrating his passing. Strange then and now. They truly despised him.

Never imagined President Buhari occupied such a position in the minds and hearts of millions of citizens.

President Umar Musa Yardua, from same Katsina State, fellow Fulani and fellow Muslim, even uptil this day, elicit empathy and deep respect and love, from Nigerians from every region.

Yardua remain greatly appreciated, honoured and missed.
Different strokes with different folks.

I certainly do not agree with our compatriots who expressed these very shocking behaviour and hateful responses.
I only wonder if he is the most controversial leader to lead Nigeria.
The response of Nigerians in reaction to his demise, is a very loud message to Nigeria's current and future leaders.
This is loud, spontaneous, and frightening.

They still feel the pain, even though he left office over two years ago.
This is huge and very remarkable.

Lesson for all.

My dear.
True wealth, good success and real power, isn't a big house, fancy clothes, posh car, big expensive jewelry and loud parties.
True wealth, good success and real power, is liberty in Christ, peace of mind, life full of options, joy of the Lord, freedom to choose and a deep relationship with your maker.
You are not given ultimatums about the next blood ritual or your world will crumble. You didn't sell your soul to any alter. You don't live a double life, hiding your membership of fraternities. You don't sacrifice your loved ones for money, fame and power. You don't cry when you are alone after you realise that you are stuck with no way out.
With the devil, you will never know peace. But with God your soul is always as calm as a river, with joy unspeakable.
Your life is full of options, freedom, joy, happiness, peace of mind and genuine relationship with God. These my dear, supersedes paper money, fake prestige, living in bo***ge whilst pretending you are on top of the world.
Choose God, choose freedom, choose peace of mind, choose joy of the Lord, choose life.
Since the beginning of the world, till date, the devil has never offered anyone anything for free. The hidden price tag is usually deadly.
Success and wealth and power, isn't romance with the devil. Entanglement with the devil in pursuit of success, wealth and power always leads to loss of peace, joy and freedom.
Don't live in bo***ge my dear. The Lord maketh rich without adding sorrow. The Lord provides and protects. The Lord will grant you peace, joy of the Lord, freedom and power to grant eternal life of bliss and true happiness.
The Devil, the deceiver only came to steal, to kill and to destroy.
The false narrative of flashing money before you while hiding the devastating price and consequences, has been his age old format of deception.
Choose life that is truly life. Choose God.

It is strange and unprecedented that Nothern youngsters will be publicly and excitedly singing " Buhari yamutu ".
Wether instigated to do so or not.
This was their hero at one time. Seen as their Saviour.
What went wrong?
In all cultures, it is wrong to mock the dead.
Who inspired them to jubilate over his death? Who recorded and posted the video online? For what purpose?
When exactly did Buhari seize being their hero?
Disturbing and worrisome development.

The day he was elected President, scores died while rejoicing over his election. Many trekked long distances to celebrate his coming. One drank stinking gutter water. Several perished in accidents due to over-joy and over-excitement.

When he left office, millions rejoiced. Many celebrated his exit and thanked God the country was now free to finally pick up the pieces and move forward.
As he passed away, frightening hate comments, the kind never before seen, dominated the social media.
And youngsters from his beloved region, danced, rejoiced and celebrated his death.

What a man!

Are these signs and marks of his uncommon character?
Or affirmation that something was/is definitely wrong somewhere.
While I disagree with the hate filled comments and the shocking behaviour of the jubilating youngsters, I agree that something is very wrong somewhere.
Strange times indeed. I wonder how his close associates, friends and family will receive these developments.

I don't know what to make of it.

There are no saints or angels amongt Nigeria's politicians. But there are different levels of baggages, smooth operators, great pretenders and hypocrites and clever rouges who cover their tracks well, whilst surreptitiously sponsoring defamatory attacks against fellow politicians in order to appear clean themselves.

Fake and artificial kindness, generosity and philanthropy, as a strategy for cheap popularity will not endure. You will be exposed someday. Real goodness comes from the heart. It's a way of life. It's not designed to deceive. It will endure because it's real.
Real kindness and generosity is from the soul. It isn't developed for fame and deception.
Fake philanthropy requires media publicity. Real philanthropy is quiet and real.
Giving to attract attention is fake and deceptive. Giving quietly on the other hand, is real and a way of life, not a strategy for cheap popularity.
Be real.
