Earlier today, Group CEO of NNPC Ltd., Mr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, received a delegation from the Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals (DPRP), led by the President/CEO of the Dangote Group, Mr. Aliko Dangote, on a courtesy visit.

Discussions centred on promoting mutually beneficial partnerships and fostering healthy competition between the two companies towards ensuring the nation’s energy security and advancing shared prosperity for Nigerians.

Mr. Dangote, while emphasising the need for collaborative efforts to turn impossibilities into realities, praised the composition of the new NNPC Ltd. Management Team, which possesses requisite experience and deep industry knowledge.

On his part, the GCEO lauded Mr. Dangote as a humble African leader whose achievements have brought pride to the continent. Mr. Ojulari added that since coming on board, he has met exceptional talent within NNPC Ltd. who are keen on giving their best for the country’s growth and development.

Both executives also committed to being the Relationship Managers for their respective organisations through sustained productive collaboration and healthy competition, thereby envisioning limitless opportunities for both organisations.

Today, the Group CEO of NNPC Ltd., Bashir Bayo Ojulari, welcomed a delegation from Chevron Nigeria Ltd. (CNL) on a courtesy visit.

The GCEO shared NNPC Ltd.’s commitment to strengthening the existing partnership with CNL, pledging to deepen discussions on gas-related business. He highlighted the importance of effective, value-based partnerships to drive sustainable collaboration and deliver shared value to both parties.

The CNL Chairman/Managing Director, Jim Swartz, shared key points on CNL’s high-level strategy, identifying key areas for collaboration and alignment with NNPC Ltd. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to advancing Nigeria’s energy sector through strategic partnerships.

UPDATE: Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu today at the 2025 Micro Enterprise Support Initiative for 1,700 Vulnerable and Indigent Residents held at the De Blue Roof LTV, Alausa Ikeja.

Beneficiaries are drawn from the State’s 19 tuition-free Skills Acquisition Centres in the 5 divisions of Lagos State where students are admitted where various skills are taught.

NOA, OGP Set to Deepen Citizens’ Engagement in Governance

In a bid to deepen accountability and citizen engagement with governance process, the Director General of the National Orientation Agency , Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu , has met with the National Coordinator of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) in Nigeria, Dr. Gloria K. Ahmed, and her management team at the NOA headquarters.

Issa-onilu highlighted the Agency's structure spreading across the 774 local councils, 26 states and new six zonal offices which gives OGP enormous capacity to educate Nigerians on the objectives of the initiative.

The visit focused on strengthening collaboration between both institutions to drive transparency, accountability, and citizen participation in governance.

Dr. Ahmed called for a stronger synergy, urging NOA to deploy its nationwide structure to create awareness and sensitise Nigerians about the OGP, which remains unfamiliar to many. She noted that with the conclusion of Nigeria’s third National Action Plan (NAP 3) in January 2025, preparations for the fourth (NAP 4) are underway, and public engagement is key.
Mallam Issa-Onilu pledged NOA’s full support, highlighting the agency’s 818 offices across the country, vast database of citizens, and access to 199 radio stations, over 32 TV stations, and social media influencers.

He also introduced CLHEEAN, NOA’s AI-driven tool, to enhance real-time updates and monitoring of civic activities, aimed at achieving impactful results in partnership with OGP.

LAGOS : On Waste-to-Energy and Organic Waste Recovery Models

The calls for innovative food waste solutions is appreciated, and already being implemented.

- At Ikosi Fruit Market, LAWMA is piloting a waste-to-biogas system that converts food waste to biomethane, now powering market lighting. This initiative is being upgraded in partnership with and will be replicated across Lagos.
Lagos has since been recognized by the Global LOW-Methane Waste Initiative as a subnational leader in reducing methane emissions from organic waste.

- In Ikorodu, LAWMA operates a composting facility in partnership with EarthCare - a World Bank–supported project that transforms organic waste into agricultural compost and animal feed distributed to farmers across Lagos.

- , in partnership with has completed a year-long feasibility study supported by the Swedish Government to explore the possibility of building a commercial Biogas Plant to produce biomethane to power the new CNG bus fleets of LAMATA, new CNG compactor fleet of LAWMA and PSP operators and other private CNG vehicles. This Biogas Plant will finally enable Lagos State to safely treat 6,500 tonnes daily of solid organic waste as well as significant volume of sewage and wastewater, abbatoir waste, and agricultural waste.

- We are also scaling up plastic recovery facilities, expanding market-based source segregation, and broadening the reach of the LAWMA Academy to train sanitation workers, youth leaders, and community advocates.
