Some Amazing Facts About The Berom People of Plateau state:

1. Indigenous heritage of the Jos Plateau:
The Berom People are regarded as one of the indigenous tribes in Plateau state,Nigeria, with deep historical roots in the region.

2. The Berom People are highly skilled in farming:
Agriculture plays a key role in Bérom Culture.they traditionally farm crops like millet,guinea corn,maize,potatoes, vegetables, etc. which support their existence,economy, and generations.

3. Strong Cultural Heritage & Festivals:
The Berom has a rich tradition of cultural celebration's, music,dance,and community festivals such as the Nzem Berom,etc, that promotes unity,identity,and respect for the culture.

4. Unique language identity:
The Berom(Birom) language belongs to Plateau/Nigeria language group and remains an important symbol of identity,history,and oral storytelling among the people.

5. Historical connection to the modern Jos:
The Berom People have shown their deep connection to the modern Jos by contributing so well to the cultural and social development of the area.

HOW TO MAKE PUKKAM THE MWAGHAVUL TRADITIONAL FOOD,FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT CAN NOT MAKE IT WELL

 Pukkam – it is a trunk of a particular tree
 Potash (shem) and salt
 Water
 Garden egg (Kuul) and pepper (Optional)

Process of Preparation
1. Pound the sorrel cake (Gogor) in a pounder/mortar(shing) together with
the garden egg and pepper (optional) or
2. Sieve it before pounding the cake with garden eggs and pepper(optional)
3. Grind the pukkam (trunk of the use-tree)
4. Put water on a fire and boil it together with the powder of the sorrel cake
(Gogor), garden egg, salt and magi
5. After boiling the water, bring it down and allow it to cool
6. Use the kitchen stick (maburki) to mix the pukkam in the boiled water
7. Put the potash (shem) inside it,
8.share your food and start firing(Mcparot Danbola)
