The coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is very near, closer than many realize. Every new day makes it even closer than ever; thus, you must be ready, watchful, and alert unto the coming of the Lord, because “𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒏𝒐 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘𝒔–𝒏𝒆𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒍𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒏, 𝒏𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒐𝒏–𝒆𝒙𝒄𝒆𝒑𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑭𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒚” (𝑴𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒘 24:36 𝑯𝑪𝑺𝑩).

Also, as Christians, we must stay alert and be on guard spiritual, because of our adversary, the devil, who is prowling about looking for people to afflict and destroy. Often, his victims are those who are not spiritually alert, prepared, and watchful; and that’s the reason the Word of God instructs us to be alert. Spiritual alertness and vigilance is enhanced by: meditating on the Word, and praying daily, especially in tongues, and being thankful to God always. These three spiritual activities will keep your spiritual sensitivity activated and sustained. For instance, the Bible instructs: “𝑫𝒆𝒗𝒐𝒕𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒑𝒓𝒂𝒚𝒆𝒓; 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒚 𝒂𝒍𝒆𝒓𝒕 𝒊𝒏 𝒊𝒕 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒌𝒔𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈” (𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒂𝒏𝒔 4:2 𝑯𝑪𝑺𝑩). That lets us know that prayer and giving of thanks always are sure ways to stay spiritually alert.

Don’t be spiritually lazy to study God’s Word daily, and don’t be too weak to pray. Be a prayerful Christian; daily pray and sing in tongues in fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Plus, engage in daily Word intake by feeding the Word into your spirit daily through meditation. Finally, be expressively thankful to God in every situation, whether it’s good or unpleasant. Doing all of the foregoing will keep you spiritually on guard and alert; and that way, you’ll never be a victim of the destructive ploys of the adversary.

Being a Christian, it’s important that you conduct yourself wisely and decently everywhere you find yourself, because you are an ambassador (a representative) of the Kingdom and Government of Heaven, which is the highest government in the universe. As such, you shouldn’t act thoughtlessly or foolishly at any time; instead, you should always conduct yourself and your affairs with excellence.

The Word of God instructs and admonishes us thus: “𝑺𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒆; 𝒃𝒆 𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝒐𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒑𝒔. 𝑫𝒐𝒏’𝒕 𝒓𝒖𝒏 𝒂𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒊𝒅𝒊𝒐𝒕𝒔 𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅 𝒅𝒐𝒆𝒔. 𝑰𝒏𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒂𝒅, 𝒘𝒂𝒍𝒌 𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒔𝒆. 𝑴𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒐𝒔𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒃𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒎𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒂𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒔𝒆 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒍 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆𝒔. 𝑺𝒐 𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒃𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒇𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒊𝒏 𝑮𝒐𝒅’𝒔 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒅𝒐𝒏’𝒕 𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒍𝒚” (𝑬𝒑𝒉𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒂𝒏𝒔 5:15-17 𝑻𝑽𝑩). Always ensure that your conduct, behaviour and attitude reflect God’s divine nature in you, and that they are consistent with His Word.

Admonishing the Church, the Apostle Paul said, “𝑨𝒃𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒂𝒍𝒍, 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒎𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒂𝒔 𝒄𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒛𝒆𝒏𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒏, 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝒂 𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒓 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒉𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑮𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝑵𝒆𝒘𝒔 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝑪𝒉𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕…” (𝑷𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒑𝒊𝒂𝒏𝒔 1:27 𝑵𝑳𝑻). As Christians, that’s how we ought to live: as citizens of heaven, and not as children of the earth. We must consciously conduct ourselves every time and everywhere in ways that are consistent with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Make the decision to always conduct yourself wisely, like the Psalmist who said: “𝑰 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒆𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒎𝒚𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒇 𝒘𝒊𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒚 𝒊𝒔 𝒂 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒆𝒄𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒚…𝑰 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒘𝒂𝒍𝒌 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏 𝒎𝒚 𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒂 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒆𝒄𝒕 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕” (𝑷𝒔𝒂𝒍𝒎 101:2).

In Christ, you are a new creation, and that is the true you! Being a new creation means you are a new species of being with a supernatural life that has supplanted the natural human, ‘adamic’ life that you had from your biological birth. It means that you’re now a child of God, an offspring of Divinity; one with the very transcendent life and holy nature of Christ. “𝑭𝒐𝒓 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒂 𝒏𝒆𝒘 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆. 𝑰𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒑𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔, 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒈𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒇𝒂𝒅𝒆 𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒚. 𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒏𝒆𝒘 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒕 𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓, 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒊𝒕 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝑪𝒉𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕, 𝑮𝒐𝒅’𝒔 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓-𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑴𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒂𝒈𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒎𝒆𝒏” (1 𝑷𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒓 1:23 𝑻𝑳𝑩).

Get this from me. According to the Word of God, the true you is the sweet, loving, and kind you. That bitter, angry, selfish, quarrelsome, abusive, dishonest, and unfaithful you, is not the true you; so put that away, and put on your true self in Christ, and always manifest the qualities of your new nature in Christ. As a Christian, if you’re still proud, stubborn, greedy, disrespectful, disobedient, bitter, resentful, fearful, unforgiving, and still telling lies, you are manifesting a borrowed nature of darkness, which is completely contrary and foreign to your new nature and the true you in Christ. You must consciously put all such negative qualities away from you, so you can live the glorious life that is consistent with the true you in Christ Jesus.

It is written: “𝑫𝒐𝒏’𝒕 𝒕𝒆𝒍𝒍 𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒉 𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓; 𝒊𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒐𝒍𝒅 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒊𝒕𝒔 𝒘𝒊𝒄𝒌𝒆𝒅𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒅𝒊𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒔𝒐𝒓𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈; 𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒊𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒅𝒆𝒂𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒈𝒐𝒏𝒆. Being a Christian, you don’t have the spiritual liberty to watch just anything you want; just as you don’t have the liberty to behave anyhow you wish. The life in Christ to which we’ve been called through the Gospel is the sanctified life. Meaning, it’s a life of purity, principles, excellence, and holiness. Thus, as a Christian, you must dedicate your eyes, ears, mouth, mind, and every part of your body to Christ, and use them only for His glory, His purpose, and His will.

In the opening scripture, the Psalmist declared that he would not set anything worthless or ungodly before his eyes. That’s how we ought to be. Don’t set vile and vulgar things before your eyes. Sanctify your eyes, and give them only to godly and sanctified things that promote the perfect will and purpose of God for your life. One Translation renders that scripture this way: “𝑰 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒓𝒆𝒇𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒌 𝒂𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒗𝒊𝒍𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒗𝒖𝒍𝒈𝒂𝒓…𝑰 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒅𝒐 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎” (𝑷𝒔𝒂𝒍𝒎 101:3 𝑵𝑳𝑻). Have nothing to do with bad and erotic films, po*******hy, photos and videos of people’s nudes, and other vile and vulgar things. Watching such things can pollute your mind and spirit, and cause you to become carnal, defiled, and spiritually latent. So avoid such iniquitous things.

What you watch directly affects your mind and spirit, because the Bible says, “𝑴𝒚 𝒆𝒚𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒇𝒇𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒔 𝒎𝒚 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕…” (𝑳𝒂𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 3:51). So, always set righteous things before your eyes, so as to keep your heart undefiled. Concerning the man Lot in the Bible, God’s Word tells us that he was a righteous man who lived among the Sodomites of his day; people who were given to wickedness, homosexuality, lesbianism, and gayness. They practiced open licentiousness, just as it is today in many parts of the world. Though Lot was righteous, the Bible tells us that the open sexual activities that he saw among his neighbours tempted and tormented him daily, and compelled him to comprise with them. “𝒀𝒆𝒔, 𝑳𝒐𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒂 𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒆𝒐𝒖𝒔 𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒔𝒐𝒖𝒍 𝒃𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒄𝒌𝒆𝒅𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒂𝒘 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒅 𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒂𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒅𝒂𝒚” (2 𝑷𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒓 2:8 𝑵𝑳𝑻). Be careful what you watch!

Being a Christian, you must passionately desire to know the Lord Jesus personally for yourself. However, in your quest to know the Lord, you must consciously put away certain things that can hinder you from walking with the Lord successfully. They are hindrances to the knowledge of Christ, and you must put them away.

One of such hindrances is 𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘵. Your past in this context includes: your past achievements and accomplishments, past victories and failures, past mistakes, and every good and bad thing in your past. In order to know the Lord Jesus, you must take your eyes off your past, and focus on Him and on the work He has for you. The Apostle said, “𝑩𝒖𝒕 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒔𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝑰 𝒐𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒉𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒆–𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝑰’𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒘𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒚 𝒔𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝑰 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒑𝒖𝒕 𝒎𝒚 𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒉𝒐𝒑𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝑪𝒉𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕 𝒂𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒆” (𝑷𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒑𝒊𝒂𝒏𝒔 3:7 𝑻𝑳𝑩). Putting your confidence on your accomplishments will hinder you from walking with God. Appreciate God for your accomplishments, but be hungry for the knowledge of Christ in His Word.

The Apostle Paul went on to say: “𝑻𝒐 𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒍𝒚 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒉𝒊𝒎 [𝑱𝒆𝒔𝒖𝒔 𝑪𝒉𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕] 𝒎𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒍𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒈𝒐 𝒐𝒇 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒎𝒚 𝒑𝒂𝒔𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒘𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒎𝒚 𝒃𝒐𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒈𝒂𝒓𝒃𝒂𝒈𝒆 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒑. Examine yourself and know what is hindering you from walking with Christ, and put them away for the benefit of knowing Him.

Now, if you look into the above scripture very well, you’d observe that sorrow of heart attracts affliction to the human body. That’s one reason you must consciously refuse to accommodate sadness of heart. Remember this: ‘the condition of your heart directly affects the health of your body.’

The Bible says, “𝑨 𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒓𝒚 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝒅𝒐𝒆𝒔 𝒈𝒐𝒐𝒅, 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒎𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒏𝒆, 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒂 𝒃𝒓𝒐𝒌𝒆𝒏 𝒔𝒑𝒊𝒓𝒊𝒕 𝒅𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒔” (𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒃𝒔 17:22 𝑵𝑲𝑱𝑽). Another Translation renders it this way: “𝑨 𝒋𝒐𝒚𝒇𝒖𝒍, 𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝒃𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒐𝒕𝒉 𝒃𝒐𝒅𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒐𝒖𝒍. 𝑩𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒘𝒉𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒄𝒓𝒖𝒔𝒉𝒆𝒅 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒈𝒈𝒍𝒆𝒔 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒔𝒊𝒄𝒌𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒅𝒆𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏” (𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒃𝒔 17:22 𝑻𝑷𝑻). You don’t want to struggle with sickness and depression; so maintain a joyful heart always, and refuse to give room to sorrow and sadness in your life. Joy is medicinal, it heals and fosters health, according to the Bible.

The Good News Translation insightfully renders the foregoing scripture this way: “𝑩𝒆𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝒌𝒆𝒆𝒑𝒔 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒉𝒚. 𝑰𝒕 𝒊𝒔 𝒔𝒍𝒐𝒘 𝒅𝒆𝒂𝒕𝒉 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒈𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒎𝒚 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆” (𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒃𝒔 17:22 𝑮𝑵𝑻). Think about that! Being joyful keeps you healthy, but that it is slow death to be gloomy or sad always. Now that you know this truth from the Bible, make up your mind to always be joyful no matter the situation in which you find yourself.

As a Christian, especially if you’re a teacher of God’s Word, it’s important that you hold fast to the pattern of sound doctrine in faith and love. Whenever you share the Word with people, whether with individuals, small groups, or large groups, do it with love and in truth. Your teachings should be filled with healing words. The Apostle Paul instructed Timothy thus: “𝑨𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒘 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒔 𝒚𝒐𝒖’𝒗𝒆 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒅 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒎𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎 𝒂 𝒎𝒐𝒅𝒆𝒍 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆 𝒂𝒔 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒇𝒂𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑨𝒏𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝑶𝒏𝒆 𝒈𝒓𝒐𝒘𝒔 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆” (2 𝑻𝒊𝒎𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒚 1:13 𝑻𝑷𝑻).

Don’t condemn or hurt people when you minister. Of course, I understand that there are times when a message can cut people to heart by the conviction of the Holy Spirit, just as it happened on the Day of Pentecost (𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝟐:𝟑𝟕). However, when you speak or teach, uplift people, seek to enlighten their spirits, stir their faith in the Word and their love for God, and let them see Jesus in your message. When you share the Word, do it with joy and love; don’t judge, attack, criticize, or embarrass people; instead, make your words wholesome. “𝑯𝒐𝒍𝒅 𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝒘𝒉𝒐𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒕𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒅 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒎𝒆 – 𝒂 𝒑𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏 𝒔𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒆𝒅 𝒃𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒂𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝑪𝒉𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕 𝑱𝒆𝒔𝒖𝒔” (2 𝑻𝒊𝒎𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒚 1:13 𝑵𝑳𝑻).

As a minister or leader in the Church, there are times to rebuke, correct, and even discipline those erring among the brethren. But only do so when necessary, and do it firmly, but also lovingly and cautiously (𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝟐 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐲 𝟒:𝟐, 𝐓𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐬 𝟏:𝟏𝟑, 𝟐:𝟏𝟓). The Bible say, “𝑹𝒆𝒃𝒖𝒌𝒆 𝒑𝒖𝒃𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒍𝒚 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒊𝒕 𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒔, 𝒔𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒎𝒂𝒚 𝒃𝒆 𝒂𝒇𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒅” (1 𝑻𝒊𝒎𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒚 5:20 𝑮𝑵𝑻).Always let the Word of God from you to others impart hope, love, faith, healing, and strength to them. Don’t share the Word out of frustration or anger; instead, do it by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and seek to motivate your hearers to become doers of the Word.

They judge and destructive criticize other people over what they do; yet, it’s none of their business. Meddling into other people’s affairs will make you a failure; so focus on your own work, and leave others to their work. The Bible instructs us to mind our own business (𝟏 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟒:𝟏𝟏).

Yes, pay careful attention to your own work, so you can do well in what you do. One Translation says, “𝑬𝒙𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒐𝒘𝒏 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒔…” (𝑮𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒂𝒏𝒔 6:4 𝑻𝑽𝑩). Examine your own works to know if you are doing well, and if you’re doing it in accordance with the instructions given to you. Words are not merely sounds; they are actually vessels or containers and transmitters of power. When you and I speak, our words convey and transmit the power inherent in them into whatever we speak them to. That’s why you must be careful never to talk negatively; because negative words transmit negative energy that brings forth negative experiences, and the negative things that they communicate. Conversely, positive words transmit positive energy that create the experiences and bring forth such things that are consistent with them.

The opening scripture is clear in letting us know that our words are so powerful that they can impart life or death when we speak them out of our mouths. The principle you should always bear in mind is: don’t use your words to confess your situation; instead, use your words to change your situation. Put in another way: Use your words as instruments of change. “𝑭𝒐𝒓 𝒃𝒚 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒔 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒆 𝒋𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒇𝒊𝒆𝒅, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒃𝒚 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒔 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒎𝒏𝒆𝒅” (𝑴𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒘 12:37). The Lord Jesus taught that by our words of faith we can move obstacles and alter circumstances (𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝟏𝟏:𝟐𝟐-𝟐𝟑).

Practice speaking faith-filled words always, and use them consciously to effect the changes you desire in the circumstances of your existence. Words are spiritual, and they have the spiritual power to change your life, either positively, if you speak in harmony with God’s Word; or negatively, if you speak negative words that communicate such things as sickness, affliction, poverty, lack, failure, defeat, and death. The Bible says, “𝑮𝒖𝒂𝒓𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖’𝒍𝒍 𝒈𝒖𝒂𝒓𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆’ 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒊𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒅𝒐𝒏’𝒕 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒍 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒕𝒐𝒏𝒈𝒖𝒆, 𝒊𝒕 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒓𝒖𝒊𝒏 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈” (𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒃𝒔 13:3 𝑻𝑷𝑻).

Being a Christian, it’s your responsibility to keep your faith strong. God won’t do that for you because it’s not His responsibility to do it; instead, He’s given you ‘𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘩,’ and also He’s given you His Word with which you should keep your faith ever strong and always active.

Strong faith is simply faith that believes and confesses God’s Word, and holds firmly to it without giving up, even in the face of adversity, pressure, or opposition. It’s faith that never gives up nor caves in, but sticks tenaciously to the Word of God until it comes to fruition. Such was the faith of Abraham. God promised him that he would have a son and become the father of many nations. For about 25 years or more, God’s promise to him didn’t come to pass, but Abraham held on to God’s Word of promise, trusting it shall be a s God has said (𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝟒:𝟏𝟕-𝟐𝟐). Thus, the opening scripture tell us that “𝑨𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒉𝒂𝒎 𝒏𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒘𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝒃𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑮𝒐𝒅’𝒔 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒆. 𝑰𝒏 𝒇𝒂𝒄𝒕, 𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒇𝒂𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒈𝒓𝒆𝒘 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒓, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒊𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒈𝒍𝒐𝒓𝒚 𝒕𝒐 𝑮𝒐𝒅” (𝑹𝒐𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒔 4:20 𝑵𝑳𝑻).

No matter what the situation is that you’re going through, maintain strong faith, by holding tenaciously to God’s Word and speaking it vehemently, until it comes to pass in your life, and until it brings about the changes you desire. The Bible says, “𝑰𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒇𝒂𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒔 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒈, 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏 𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒆 𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒅 𝒃𝒚 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆’𝒔 𝒅𝒊𝒇𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒊𝒆𝒔, 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒖𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒆𝒙𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒐𝒍𝒅 𝒃𝒍𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑮𝒐𝒅! "𝑯𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒔𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒅, “𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒄𝒓𝒊𝒑𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆𝒔 𝒔𝒂𝒚: 𝑩𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅 𝒂𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒔𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒔𝒇𝒚, 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒅, 𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒄𝒉 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒍𝒚 𝒈𝒐𝒆𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒉 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝑮𝒐𝒅’𝒔 𝒎𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒉."

Those are the words of our Lord Jesus Christ. Quoting from 𝐃𝐞𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐲 𝟑:𝟖, He tells us that bread, which is figurative of food in that scriptures, cannot satisfy man’s heart, but that living by the Word of God will bring such satisfaction. That’s how powerful the Word is (𝐇𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐰𝐬 𝟒:𝟏𝟐).

The Word has the innate power to alter the circumstances of your existence, and keep you on the path of strength, health, victory, success, and prosperity. However, the Word in the written pages of the Bible cannot do it; rather, it is the Word in your spirit that will do all that, plus more. That’s why you must practice daily Word intake if you desire to live the quality of life that God desires for you. Make it your priority and duty to read or study your Bible daily, and listen to the teachings of God’s Word often, and do what it says. That’s the only way to activate and enjoy the ministry and power of God’s Word in your life daily.

God says to you, “𝑴𝒚 𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒅, 𝒑𝒂𝒚 𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝑰 𝒔𝒂𝒚. 𝑳𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒏 𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒇𝒖𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒕𝒐 𝒎𝒚 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒔. 𝑫𝒐𝒏’𝒕 𝒍𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒔𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎. 𝑳𝒆𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎 𝒑𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒅𝒆𝒆𝒑 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕, 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒃𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒇𝒊𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒓 𝒘𝒉𝒐𝒍𝒆 𝒃𝒐𝒅𝒚” (𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒃𝒔 4:20-22 𝑵𝑳𝑻). God’s Word will impart healing and health to your whole body, and bring perfection to every area of your life. So, devote adequate time to daily Word intake, and fill your spirit with it; that way, your life will be a perfect expression and a testimony of the ministry and power of the Word.
