UNITY BANK EMPOWERS JIGAWA CORPS MEMBERS WITH N1 MILLION IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP GRANTS.

Unity Bank PLC has awarded three (3) Corps Members deployed to Jigawa State with a total sum of N1 MILLION as part of its Corpreneurship challenge, an initiative aimed at reducing level of unemployment among Youths graduates in the country.

The presentation of the Grant to the Corps Members was part of the event marking the Exhibition/closing ceremony of the 2023 Batch 'C' stream II orientation course in - camp Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) training.

While delivering his address, Mr Adamu Abubakar the representative of the Bank regional manager , Dutse , described Corpreneurship challenge as part of the Bank social corporate responsibility towards empowering Youths to be self employed and employers of labour.

" The idea of Corpreneurship challenge was prompted out of the concern of Unity Bank to reduce unemployment among Youths and empower them to be self employed. It is also our social corporate responsibilities geared towards fostering innovation and job creation among young entrepreneurs", he added.

Mr Abubakar then assured the NYSC Unity Bank's commitment to empowering Corps Members with financial aid and entrepreneural skills to achieve greatness.

In her address, the NYSC Jigawa State Coordinator, Mrs A'ishatu A Adamu lauded the Corpreneurship challenge, describing it as a significant platform for Entrepreneurship development and job creation in the country.

She then urged the beneficiaries to utilize the grant provided to them by channelling it to the purpose it's meant for.

The 3 Corps Members benefitted from the grant includes ; Umenzekwe Elsie (JG / 23c/ 1695 ) who won N500,000 , Abubakar Kabiru Zubairu ( JG/23c/1544) and Iheanacho Precious Uchechi (JG/23c/1913) who won N300,000 and 200,000 respectively.

NYSC JIGAWA FLAGS - OFF SAED IN - CAMP PROGRAMME.

The Jigawa State National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Coordinator, Mrs A'ishatu Adamu has called on the 2023 Batch 'C' stream II Corps Members deployed to Jigawa State and currently undergoing their 3 weeks orientation course to utilize the opportunities provided by the NYSC Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme .

Mrs Adamu stated this during the flagged - off ceremony of the In - camp SAED sensitization lecture and training today Wednesday 29th November , 2023 at the Multi Purpose hall of the State's permanent orientation camp, Fanisau, Dutse.

The Coordinator informed the Corps Members that NYsC initiated the Programme in 2012 to complement the efforts of the Federal Government towards capacity building and empowering the Corps Members with Skills.

Mrs Adamu added that the training is to help them create wealth , become self employed and employers of labour at the end of the service year.

She then urged them to participate actively in the training and to tap from the knowledge and expertise of the well experienced facilitators provided to train them.

Highlights of the ceremony were the EDP sensitization lecture , short Drama play on the importance of acquiring skill and presentation of skills groups and facilitators to train them.

NYSC JIGAWA , NCCSALW PARTNER OVER SMALL ARMS PROLIFERATION.

The Jigawa State National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Coordinator, Mrs A'ishatu A Adamu has expressed the readiness of the scheme to collaborate with the National Center for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons (NCCSALW) in the fight against the trafficking of Small Arms and Light Weapons in Jigawa State.

The Coordinator made this known when recieved in audience the North - West Zonal Coordinator of the Centre , Air Vice Marshall Haruna Umar Mohammed and his team on Tuesday 28th November , 2023 at the State's permanent orientation camp, Fanisau, Dutse.

According to Mrs Adamu, " Considering the widespread of Corps Members in all the nook and cranny of the country , NYSC is critical and important partner in the ex*****on of the center's mandate ".

" The visit has opened a new vista in the already existing relationship between the two agencies in Jigawa State, i want to assure NCCSALW of continued collaboration in its effort to riding the nation of illicit fi****ms and promote safety and security", she added.

Mrs Adamu then appreciated the Zonal Coordinator for the visit to tie the knot with scheme and to seek for robust collaboration.

Addressing the Camp Officials and the Corps Members, AVM Haruna Umar Mohammed informed them that the centre regard NYSC as critical stakeholders in their activities , hence the visit.

He opined that the synergy between the two agencies, if sustained , will not only help in protecting the country against the proliferation of small arms and ammunition , but also will drastically reduce the level of crime and insecurity challenges in the nation .

AVM Mohammed then commended NYSC Jigawa State for the tremendous support it provides to NCCSALW in the ex*****on of its mandate.

He then urged the Corps Members to escalate the sensitization recieved on the dangers of proliferation of small arms and light weapons and its negative consequences to their host communities.

Highlights of the visit were sensitization lecture delivered to Corps Members on the mandate of the centre by Deputy Commissioner of Police Mohammed Shamsuddeen and presentation of plaque to the State Coordinator by the NCCSALW Zonal Coordinator

NYSC JIGAWA LAUDS NAMADI OVER CORPS MEMBERS' WELFARE AND SAFETY.

The Jigawa State National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has lauded the efforts of the Jigawa State Government for placement of top priority attention on welfare and security of Corps Members during and after orientation.

The Jigawa State Coordinator, Mrs A'ishatu A Adamu made the commendation today Tuesday 28th November,2023 during the swearing - in of the 2023 Batch 'C' stream II Corps Members deployed to Jigawa State.

According to the Coordinator , " the efforts put in place regarding the welfare , security and safety of the Corps Members in the State is commendable".

" The serious collaboration with the State under Governor Mallam Umar A Namadi has given the Corps Members more confidence to serve in the State.

" Its placement of top priority attention on the welfare and security of the Corps Members is making the service very pleasant and memorable for them".

Mrs Adamu thereafter called on the Corps Members to engage fully in all the camp activities, especially skill acquisition training.

While delivering his address, His Excellency, Governor Mallam Umar A Namadi represented by the State Chairman, NYSC Governing board, Hon.Sagir Musa Ahmed informed the Corps Members that Jigawa State is safe and its people hospitable.

Governor Namadi also enjoined them to support his Administration towards the socio - economic development of the State.

The Oath of allegiance was administered to 1800 Corps Members deployed to the State by the representative of Chief Judge of Jigawa , Justice Amina Dahiru.

JIGAWA CAMP : MRS ADAMU BRIEFS PROSPECTIVE CORPS MEMBERS.

The Jigawa State Coordinator, Mrs A'ishatu A Adamu has addressed the prospect Corps Members deployed to Jigawa State for their one year national service on their welfare , security and ethics governing the conduct of the orientation course towards achieving seamless and successful exercise.

The Coordinator made the brief today Monday 26th November, 2023 at the Multi Purpose Hall of the State's permanent orientation camp, Fanisau, Dutse.

While briefing the Prospective Corps Members, Mrs Adamu informed them that the orientation course is strategically designed to prepare them mentally and physically towards the national service and life beyond.

According to her " Orientation life is regimented with a lot of activities embedded in the course time table to build your capacity and exposed your life to national discourse for you to have a better knowledge and understanding of the geography and economy of the country ".

Mrs Adamu then urged them to capitalize on the advantage of the Programme to better their life.

She equally enjoined them to be diligent, discipline, abide by the rules and regulations governing the conduct of the course and respect all camp Officials irrespective of their status.

The Coordinator finally assured them that their welfare and security will be given utmost priority and the Management will do its best to make their stay in camp comfortable and memorable.

NYSC JIGAWA UNVEILS 3 CORPS CAMP DIRECTORS

The Jigawa National Youth Service Corps Management has appointed and unveiled three(3) Corps Camp Directors for the 2023 Batch 'C' stream II orientation course for Corps Members deployed to Jigawa State.

The appointees were unveiled today Monday 24th November, 2023 during the State Coordinator's briefing of the Prospective Corps Members at the Multi Purpose Hall of the State's permanent orientation camp, Fanisau Dutse .

While inuagurating the Corps Camp Directors, the State Coordinator, Mrs A'ishatu A Adamu informed the Prospective Corps Members that the idea of the appointment is to ensure an enhance feed back mechanism for effective orientation course conduct and for them to serve as intermediary between the Camp Management and Corps Members.

" In order to ensure an enhance feedback mechanism for effective orientation conduct, inculcate exemplary leadership in the young generation and co-opt the Corps Members in the administration of the orientation camp , NYSC out of its wisdom initiate the appointment or the Corps Camp Directors to represent the entire Corps Members in the administration of the orientation camp "', she added.

Mrs Adamu thereafter urged the appointees to discharge their duties diligently and responsibly.

JIGAWA CAMP : 2023 BATCH 'C' STREAM II ORIENTATION COURSE TAKES-OFF SUCCESSFULLY

The 2023 Batch 'C' Stream II Orientation Course for Corps Members deployed to Jigawa State has Commenced successfully with screening / security checks for all course participants.

The exercise which is taking place at the NYSC Jigawa State permanent Orientation Camp , Fanisau , Dutse, started at the early hours of today Friday 24th November, 2023. Prospective Corps Members were subjected to screening / security checks before proceeding with their registration.

The 3:weeks Orientation Course which which commences in all NYSC Camps nation wide will ends on Thursday 14th December, 2023.

GOVERNOR NAMADI RESTATES COMMITMENT TO CORPS MEMBERS WELFARE IN JIGAWA STATE.

The Governor of Jigawa State, His Excellency Mallam Umar A Namadi has reiterated the commitment of his administration towards providing enhance and adequate welfare and security for Corps Members deployed to Jigawa State for their mandatory national service.

Governor Namadi restated the committment during the closing ceremony of the 2023 Batch 'C' stream I orientation course on Tuesday 21st November, 2023 at General Yakubu Gowon, NYSC Jigawa State permanent orientation camp, Fanisau, Dutse.

The Governor who was represented by the Hon. Commissioner Ministry of Information , Youths, Sports and Culture, Hon. Sagir Musa Ahmed further informed the Corps Members that the State has made adequate provisions to ensure their successful service year.

" I wish to inform you that the State Government, through the NYSC Governing board has made adequate provisions to ensure your safety and welfare. Therefore , you are expected to reciprocate the gesture by accepting your posting in good faith and report promptly to your duty post ", he said.

" My administration will continue to support the NYSC scheme in the State for the realization of its objectives. But i must emphasize that the acceptance of Corps Members is crucial to effective utilisation of their skills and knowledge. It is in this regard, that the Government has instructed all employers of labour to accept Corps Members posted to them and ensure early settlement at work.

In her farewell address to the Corps Members, the State Coordinator, Mrs A'ishatu A Adamu advised them to remain calm during the service year as the Jigawa is peaceful and its people hospitable.

She however , urged them to be security concious at all times as security is evert one's business.

" You should avoid acts that can endanger your lives such as unnecessary journeys , traveling at night , staying out late , attending night parties , visiting of dangerous places among others", she added.

The Coordinator finally appreciated Governor Namadi for his continuous support to the activities of NYSC in Jigawa and promised him the readiness of the scheme in supporting his developmental agenda.

NYSC HONORS SOME JIGAWA CAMP OFFICIALS AND CORPS MEMBERS FOR OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE.

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC ) in Jigawa State has awarded letters of commendation and cash prizes to some Corps Members for outstanding performance during the 2023 Batch 'C' stream I orientation course.

The NYSC Coordinator in the State, Mrs A'ishatu A Adamu stated this during an Award night ceremony yesterday Monday 20th November, 2023 at the Multi Purpose Hall of the State's permanent orientation camp, Fanisau, Dutse.

She said the scheme honoured the awardees excellent performances and motivated others to put in their best to fast - track the implementation of the orientation exercise.

" The awardees during the 3 weeks exercise exhibited good conduct and distinguished themselves from others , hence the need to motivate them to do more as well as motivate others to copy them ", she said.

While presenting a goodwill message at the event , the Hon. Commissioner of Information, Youths, Sports and Culture , who is also the State Chairman NYSC Governing board, Hon. Sagir Musa Ahmed commended the State Coordinator for her laudable initiative of recognizing excellence amongst her Corps Members and Staffs , where he described it as an effective way of enhancing performances.

The State Chairman further tasked the awardees to be law - abiding and good ambassadors of the scheme and their families.

The categories of Awards presented includes, outstanding NYSC Staffs , outstanding Corps Members, outstanding collaborative agencies staffs and best supportive organisations which was awarded to Zenith bank and Airtel Nigeria.

NYSC HOLDS CULTURAL CARNIVAL IN ITS JIGAWA CAMP TO STRENGTHEN NATIONAL UNITY.

The National Youth Service Corps ( NYSC ) has organized the 2023 Batch 'C' stream I orientation course cultural carnival to promote national unity and show case the rich cultural heritage of the nation's diverse cultures and traditions.

While addressing the Corps Members and Camp Officials at the event , the State Coordinator, Mrs A'ishatu A Adamu opined that the reason behind the carnival was to promote the oneness of Nigeria and bring the Corps Members together as one.

According to her " NYSC scheme is in forefront of promoting the unity and integration of Nigeria and has been a vanguard in preserving our rich cultural heritage, hence the introduction of the cultural carnival in the orientation course".

The Cultural Carnival which showcased multiple ethnic groups was displayed by the 10 platoons on camp.

At the end of the presentation, platoon 2 emerged winner , while platoon 7 and 8 became 2nd and 1st runner up simultaneously.

Highlights of the events were side attraction by Man. O. War and presentation of various prizes to the winners.

" BUILD A STRONG FRIENDSHIP AMONGST YOURSELF DURING THE SERVICE YEAR "..... Ag. Director NYSC North - East Area Office.

The Acting Director, NYSC North - East Area Office,Bauchi, Alh. Abubakar Ardo Mohammed has urged the 2023 Batch 'C' stream I Corps Members deployed to Jigawa State and currently undergoing 3 weeks orientation course to as a matter of importance build on enduring and fruitful friendship among themselves .

Abubakar Mohammed made this call when he addressed the Corps Members during his oversight visit to the Camp , today Wednesday 16th November, 2023 at the NYSC Jigawa State permanent orientation camp , Fanisau , Dutse.

According to the Ag. Director " The orientation course and the service year in general is strategically designed in such away for Corps Members to foster unity and build a strong bond of relationship among the various participants drawn from diverse background of the nation".

" I encourage you to utilize this opportunity provided by the NYSC to love one another and build everlasting and valuable relationship that will help your future irrespective of your background.

Speaking further , he also admonished them to respect the NYSC uniform by wearing them appropriately at all times , avoid risky and night trips , participate actively in all camp activities, have respect for camp Officials and rules and regulations governing the service year.

Abubakar Mohammed Finally commended the Corps Members for their high level of discipline and good conduct which attributes to the sanity and calmness in the orientation camp.

Earlier in her welcome address, the State Coordinator, Mrs A'ishatu Adamu welcomed the Ag. Director and described him as one of the finest officer the scheme has produced and always proud of because of his contribution to the upliftment of the ideals of the scheme.

The Coordinator then briefed him on camp situation and described the Corps Members as well discipline and active in all camp activities.

Highlights of the visit was cultural dance entertainment by the Corps Members and presentation of gifts to various groups of the Corps Members by the Ag. Director.

NYSC IS PREPARING A ROAD MAP FOR YOUR SUCCESS.... Mrs Ramatu Sanda tells Corps Members.

The 2023 Batch 'C 'stream I Corps Members deployed to Jigawa State and currently undergoing their 3 weeks orientation course have been informed that the orientation course and all other NYSC activities is geared towards making them achieve greatness in their life endeavors.

The remark was made by a retired NYSC deputy director, Hajiya Ramatu Sanda during her motivational lecture delivered to the Corps Members at the Multi Purpose hall of the NYSC Jigawa State permanent orientation camp, Fanisau, Dutse.

Mrs Sanda , a former NYSC Coordinator in Zamfara, Katsina and Nasarawa States , also served as acting Director PRS and Head the reform unit of the scheme before her retirement from service.

According to her , " Corps Members are to be well discipline, of good conduct and expected to actively engage in all camp activities, as all NYSC activities are designed to serve as a road map towards Corps Members achieving greatness during the service year and beyond".

She went further to urged them to utilize the opportunities provided by the NYSC SAED programme , as nowadays acquiring skills is the only way forward for self development and economic growth of any nation.

" White collar jobs are not readily available now , even where it's available only few privileged ones have a grab on it. In the modern and challenging world , graduates are only recruited for employment not base on their certificate alone but for what they can offer". She added.

The retired Deputy Director also charged them to always be law abiding and concious of the culture and traditions of their host communities to be able to live in peace and harmony with them.

She then finally commended them for their level of discipline, commitment and compliance to camp activities and rules and regulations.

Earlier in her welcome address, the State Coordinator, Mrs A'ishatu Adamu welcomed the guest and congratulated her for a successful retirement from service.

She then wish her well in her Post service life and journey Mercy back to her destination at the end of her lecture.
