Are you a parent or Intending parent(s), this is for you.

"10 Toddlers Hacks Every Parents Needs To Know"

1. The whisper trick: When your toddler(s) is/are yelling, just bend and whisper things in their ears, you will be marveled at the magic it will bring.

2. Calm down bottles: Fill in a can of clear bottle with glitter and water, watching it helps them settle down.

3. Keep them busy: Give them a paint brush and a cardboard sheet to paint what they can paint.

4. Bedtime count down: Set a timer to 5 mins to help them prepare for bedtime. By that way, it will give them the sense of understanding that it is time to sleep.

5. The bare bottom method: Sometimes, allow them go diaper free in the house for some time, that will help them in potty training.

6. Hug rather than scolding: When you give them a tight hug, it helps to calm down tantrums than words. Scolding doesn't help.

7. Present two choices: instead of saying "put on your shoes" Say "Do you want to wear the brown shoe or the black one"? That way they feel in control and make a choice.

8. Name the emotion: Teach them how to say what they feel at a time" I'm angry, instead of acting it out. That way they feel relaxed.

9. Cleaning and organizing hack: Tell that that, any toys left on the floor goes to "Toy Jail" Before giving it back, make sure they do small chores to earn it back.

10. Use a visual routine chart: Stick pictures on the wall for morning steps like brush your teeth, get dressed, eat breakfast etc

HANDLING TODDLERS TANTRUMS LIKE A PRO.

Handling toddler tantrums like a pro requires patience, consistency, and understanding, because if you handle them by the way they behave, aaah!!!!! So here are some step-by-step strategy that might help for your sanity:

1. Stay Calm & Self Controlled:

The way you reacts sets the tone. Mind you, these little champs read your countenance. Take a deep breath, lower your voice, and avoid yelling, which is sometimes hard, but you have to be conscious of it.. Toddlers thrive on your energy.

2. Validate Their Feelings:

Rather than dismissing their emotions, especially when they want a thing and didn't get it, say something like, "I understand that you're upset. You really wanted that candy, not to worry, you will get it next time. This helps them feel heard.

3. Keep Your standards Firm:

Be kind but consistent. If you’ve said no to something, never you give in just to stop the tantrum. This teaches them that tantrums won’t get them what they want and that's period!!.

4. Provide Choices to them:

Toddlers like to feel that they are in control and giving them a sense of control can prevent outbursts. Instead of saying, “Put on your shoes now,” why not try, “Do you want to wear the blue shirt or the white one?” that way, they feel important.

5. Create a Calm-Down zone:

Toddlers also needs time to process their feelings, so, Instead of time-outs, why not try a "calm-down zone" with soft toys, books, or sensory items. This helps them control their emotions rather than feel punished.

6. Teach Emotional Words:

Toddlers needs to learn how to express their feelings, so help them express with words like I'm happy" or "I'm sad."I'm sleepy, I'm sorry, thank you etc. By this way, they how understand how to express themselves without reservations.

7. Teach coping skills:

Teaching coping skills helps them to manage emotions in a healthy way. Show them ways to cope when they upset like taking deep breaths, using words instead of actions, counting of numbers, looking for colors and shapes around them, etc

8. Be on the lookout for Triggers & Prevent it:

Toddlers don't always recognize when they are hungry, tired or overstimulated etc so always look at them to understand what they are feeling at the moment and proffer solution. Meeting their basic needs can prevent tantrums before they start.

9. Use Positive Affirmations:

They love it when being praised for a good behavior: for example "I love how you asked nicely for that toy!" This encourages them to express needs calmly.

10. Model Emotional Regulation:

Let them also understand that you feel bad too. Show them how you handle frustration by Saying, "I'm feeling upset, so I'll take deep breaths," teach them by example.

Bear in mind that tantrums are a normal part of toddler development. Your position isn’t to eliminate them entirely but to guide your child in managing their emotions in a healthy way.
