Gambling vs. Not Following Your Strategy in Trading
š» Gambling (in trading):
⢠You enter trades based on hope or emotion, not analysis.
⢠Thereās no predefined entry, exit, or risk management.
⢠Wins feel lucky, losses feel like punishment.
⢠Thereās no system, no plan ā just vibes.
Gambling is when you donāt know why youāre entering a trade, and you donāt care.
ā ļø Not Following Your Strategy (as a trader):
⢠You have a plan, but you abandon it mid-trade.
⢠You move your stop loss, chase setups, or over-leverage out of fear or greed.
⢠You let emotions override discipline.
⢠You know better, but you donāt do better.
Not following your strategy is worse ā because you knew the right thing, but chose not to stick with it.
š The Real Difference:
⢠Gambling = No strategy at all
⢠Breaking your strategy = Disrespecting your edge
