A new week is not a fresh start!

Happy new week Hubstars 💙.

Many beginner freelancers treat the new week as a new start

They enroll for a new course
Abandon an existing training
Write new goals

A new week is a continuation of your previous progress to ensure you complete them.

What are you completing this week?

Last Thing, Hubstars ⭐

If you are new on Upwork and nobody has invited you yet, please do not use someone else's established profile as the measurement for whether you are doing well.

You are building.

Focus on what your current stage requires.

Make your profile clear.
Apply consistently.
Target jobs that genuinely match your skills.

Personalise your proposals.

Work towards that first successful contract and start collecting the proof that will make the next opportunity easier.

And if you already have some Upwork history but things have become quiet, go back and look at both sides of your strategy.

Are you still actively reaching out, and is your profile positioned strongly enough for clients to discover you?

You need both eventually.

But you need to know which one deserves more of your attention right now.

Happy Midweek!

You've made it this far—keep going!

Every task you complete, no matter how small, is a step closer to your goals. Don't let a slow start or a busy schedule discourage you.

Stay focused, stay positive, and remember: progress is progress.

Keep pushing, keep believing, and finish the week strong!

If you're new on Upwork, waiting for clients to find you may be slowing you down. 👀

You don't have a long work history yet.
You don't have plenty of reviews.
Nobody is rushing to invite you to jobs.

So what do you do?

You go looking for the opportunities yourself.

That's where outbound outreach comes in.

But here's where many beginners get it wrong:

They apply to almost every job they see.
They send the same proposal everywhere.
They spend Connects without a strategy.

Then after a few unsuccessful applications, they conclude:

“Upwork doesn't work.”

It does.

But you need to know how to approach it at your current stage.

There's a smarter way to choose opportunities, use your Connects and write proposals that actually give clients a reason to consider you.

We broke it all down inside 360 Freelance Hub.

👉 If you're serious about getting your first Upwork client, check out the Hub.

Your first job won't come from waiting. Go where the opportunities are.

Happy New Week! 🌿

As you step into this new week, my prayer for you is simple:

May God open doors that your skills alone cannot.

May He give you clarity when making decisions, favour where you least expect it, and opportunities that align with your purpose.

May every proposal you send, every application you submit, every client conversation, and every step you take move you closer to the future you're working so hard to build.

And when opportunities come, may you have the wisdom, confidence, and capacity to make the most of them.

Have a productive and fulfilling week ahead.

Happy New Week from 360 Freelance Hub. 💙

Your learning should produce PROOF. 👇
Stop collecting courses and certificates without actually creating anything.
If you're learning a digital skill:
Created a form? → Save it.
Organised a spreadsheet? → Document it.
Wrote an email? → Keep it.
Built a task board? → Add it to your portfolio.
Created a content calendar? → Share it.
Because when a client asks “What can you do?”
Don't just tell them.
Show them.
You don't need to wait for your first client to start building your portfolio.
Your practice projects can become your proof.
Learn → Practise → Document → Share.
Your next opportunity might come from something you created while you were still learning.
Start documenting your work.

If you're serious about remote work, Google Workspace should be on your skill list. 👀
Gmail.
Drive.
Docs.
Sheets.
Calendar.
Meet.

These aren't just random apps.
They're tools you may use to communicate with clients, organise projects, collaborate with teams and deliver your work professionally.

You don't have to learn everything today.
Start with one. Practise. Then build from there.

You don't need to wait for someone to post “VA NEEDED” before you start looking for clients.

If you're a beginner freelancer, here are 6 places I'd tell you to look at:

1. Go where business owners are.
Join communities where founders are already talking about their businesses, challenges and outsourcing needs.

2. Search LinkedIn beyond the Jobs tab.
Look for posts where business owners are already asking for help.

3. Find growing businesses.
A business doesn't have to announce that they need a VA before they actually need one.

4. Search for buying signals.
Words like “I need help,” “looking for someone,” “recommend someone,” or “hiring a freelancer” can lead you to opportunities.

5. Research before you pitch.
Don't send: “Hi, I'm a VA and I'd love to work with you.”

Find a problem first.

Then show them how you can help solve it.

6. Build your referral network.
Past clients, colleagues, friends, communities and even other freelancers can become sources of opportunities.

And here's the part beginners often miss:

Finding clients is not just about applying for jobs.

It's about learning to identify problems and position yourself as the person who can solve them.

Save this. You may need it the next time you're tempted to say:
