Why Is It Hard to Own Up to Your Mistakes?

I recently shared with my WhatsApp community about a watermelon I bought on Monday.

It was clear that the watermelon was leftover from Sunday. My assumption is that the seller put these watermelons up for sale on Monday to avoid running into loss. However, it's unfair for me to spend my hard-earned money, even if it’s only 100 naira, on something that's spoiled.

These are the outcomes you take when selling perishable goods.

May Allah forgive my mother. When she was selling moinmoin, we never sold leftovers from the previous day, no matter how much we had left. I remember how we would sometimes fry them if we were tired of reheating, or share them with Almajiri, or even put them in the oven.

Yesterday, I went back to the seller. This time, I met the actual seller, it was clear that the watermelon the neighbour sold to me came from his tray. I complained but he denied.

What I wanted was an apology. I'd have been fine even if he didn’t offer me a replacement. Instead, he aggravated my anger by denying that I bought the watermelon from him, making me feel like a liar.

This is how some people behave: instead of empathizing with a customer’s complaint that is clearly their fault, they turn it into a confrontation.

Will I patronize this guy again? Absolutely not. Would I refer anyone to him? Nope.

It’s the way I bounce while wearing my Treasured baby in baby carrier for me!

First Mondays of the month in this part of the world are our immunization days. Can we be done with this phase already😅?

Since our primary health centers are on strike, it’s been super time-consuming as our alternative doesn’t seem to care that it’s MONDAY!

Are we giving up? Nope. We’re hanging in there until we’re done with this phase.

How’s your Monday going?

We’re going back on Wednesday because our treasured baby is 9 months old, and the crowd today was just too much they couldn’t attend to everyone.

I wasn't wrong when I said "May is my we're outside month😂"

Dr. Lola Adeyemi called and I’m glad I answered.

When I got a call from her team the day before, requesting the services of a digital content creator (in short, a mobile videographer to capture key moments of their workshop), I honestly thought, “What made you think I’m the best fit for this role?😂”

Was it my S24 Ultra?
My vlogs?
My video ads?
Or just my videos in general?
Lol.

Either way, I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity.

For a moment, I was a bit anxious because it was my first time taking on such a role in this capacity.

I quickly reached out to some acquaintances and even put out a request for assistantship.

Even though the pay wasn’t much for two people to share, I went ahead regardless.

Why? Because my Big Boss in my back may decide to show the wonders he's made of and two good heads they say are better than one.

It was a two-day workshop, and I was honored to cover it both days.

Thanks to my assistant and my baby for not doing too much. How's May going?
