The Biomedical Science Research and Training Centre (BioRTC) is committed to advancing scientific research and innovation in Africa. To further this mission, we have launched the BioRTC Junior Research Associate (JRA). This structured program is designed to empower undergraduate students from Nigerian universities, starting with Yobe State University, to conduct high-quality biomedical research at BioRTC.

Objectives

I. Offer hands-on research experience under the guidance of expert supervisors.

II. Enhance research productivity through innovation and strategic collaborations, fostering a vibrant research culture at YSU and beyond.

Programme Details

Duration: 2 months.

Eligibility: Open to Part 2, Part 3, or final-year undergraduate students at Yobe State University with a strong career interest in biomedical research. Students from any faculty or department are encouraged to apply, including but not limited to:

I. College of Medical Sciences

II. Computer Science

III. Physics

IV. Chemistry

V. Biology

VI. Other relevant disciplines

Support to Be Provided

I. Each student will be assigned a research supervisor from BioRTC to guide them throughout the program.

II. A stipend of ₦100,000 per month for the 2-month duration.

III. Students will have full access to BioRTC’s state-of-the-art research infrastructure and resources for their research.

IV. Participants will have access to BioRTC workshops to boost their research skills.

The Yobe State Scholarship Board is pleased to announce the start of the 2025 application for the Yobe State Government Scholarship/Bursaries for students of tertiary institutions.

Application is FREE and open to all students pursuing Diploma, HND, Graduate and Post Graduate Courses.
