Senator Natasha docked before Federal High Court Abuja on Cybercrime Charges.

Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Apoti-Uduaghan was on Monday docked at the Federal High Court in Abuja on alleged Cybercrime against the President of the Senate, Godswill Obot Akpabio and former governor of Kogi state, Yahaya Adosa Bello.

The suspended Senator was put on trial by the office of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice (AGF) on fresh 6-count criminal charges bordering on harmful imputations while making public comments and granting television interview.

Natasha, who was accompanied by her husband into the court room to answer the charges against her however pleaded not guilty.

The Senate President had in a petition to the Inspector General of Police complained on damages done to his reputation by Natasha on the accusation that he (Akpabio) planned to eliminate her in Kogi state.

Subsequently, and on the strength of the investigation by police, Senator Natasha was docked for Cybercrime crime against Akpabio and Yahaya Bello.

The Federal Government through the AGF office preferred a six-count criminal charge against her before the Federal High Court, Abuja.

The allegations in the charge, marked: FHC/ABJ/CR/195/2025 are rooted in cybercrime provisions, revolve around her alleged transmission of false and injurious information via electronic means allegedly calculated to malign, incite, and endanger lives and breach public order.

Among the particulars of the charge are claims that Natasha while addressing a gathering on April 4th 2025 in Ihima, alleged that Senator Akpabio instructed Bello to have her eliminated in Kogi State.

Similarly, in a television interview, she allegedly repeated this narrative, suggesting a murderous conspiracy against her life by Akpabio and Yahaya Bello.

Following her plea of not guilty the Director of the Public Prosecution of the Federation DOPE. Mohammed Abubakar asked Mohammed Umar for a date to commence trial.

However, Natasha's lawyer, Professor Roland Otaru SAN got permission to move bail application for the defendant.

In moving the bail application, the Professor of law urged the Judge to exercise his discretion in favor of Natasha.

He argued that the suspended senator was not a flight risk and would not interfere with police investigation and witnesses.

Besides, he submitted that the Constitution of the Country presumed her innocent while the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015 emphasized bail in such an offence

The DPPF admitted receiving the motion and that he did not file counter affidavit against the request but urged the court to grant bail in such a way that will compel the Senator to attend trial.

Having not opposed, the Judge admitted Natasha to bail.

He subsequently fixed September 22 for commencement of trial.

Part of the charges are "That on or about the 1st day of April 2025 while addressing a crowd of people at Ihima Community, Kogi State, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, You - SENATOR NATASHA AKPOTI- UDUAGHAN intentionally caused the following communication to be transmitted via a computer system and network, to wit: “...and Akpabio told Yahaya Bello, I am saying, standing by what I have said. He told him that he should make sure that killing me does not happen in Abuja, it should be done here, so it will seem as (if it is the people that killed me here..." And You, SENATOR NATASHA AKPOTI-UDUAGHAN, knew this contained a threat that could harm the reputation of Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio GCON as the President of the Senate, of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. You thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 24 (2) (c) of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) (Amendment) Act, 2024 and punishable under
the same Act.

Count Two "That on or about the 1st day of April 2025 while addressing a crowd
of people at Ihima Community, Kogi State, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, You - SENATOR NATASHA AKPOTI-UDUAGHAN intentionally caused the following communication to be tranamitted via a computer system and network, to wit:
“,...and Akpabio told Yahaya Bello, I am saying, standing by what I have said. He told him that he should make sure that killing me does not happen in Abuja, it should be done here, so it will seem as (if it is the people that killed me here...” And You, SENATOR NATASHA AKPOTI-UDUAGHAN, knew this contained a threat that could harm the reputation of Yahaya Adoza Bello, a former Governor of Kogi State. You thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 24 (2) (c) of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) (Amendment) Act, 2024 and punishable under same section of the Act.

At last, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Docked Over Defamation Of Akpabio, Bello, Gets N50m Bail

•••Trial Begins Sept 22.

The suspended Kogi Central
Senator, Natasha Apoti-Uduaghan was on Thursday docked at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for allegedly defaming the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio and former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Adosa Bello.

She was put on trial by the office of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice AGF on 3-counts criminal charges bordering on harmful imputation

The embattled suspended Senator was accompanied to the court for the trial by her husband and associates.

However when the charge was read, she pleaded not guilty.

In view of her plea, the prosecuting lawyer, David Kaswe asked Justice Chisoba Oji to remand her in prison till the determination of the charge.

However, Natasha's lawyer, Professor Roland Otaru, sought and got permission to move bail application for the defendant on the grounds that it was matured for hearing having been served on the prosecution and having joined issues with each other.

In moving the bail application, Otaru urged the Presiding Judge to exercise her discretion in favour of the defendant.

He argued that the suspended senator was not a flight risk and would not interfere with police investigation and witnesses.

Besides, he submitted that the Constitution of the country presumes her innocent, while the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015 emphasizes bail in such an offence.

On his part, the prosecuting lawyer urged the judge to refuse the bail application, adding that the prosecution took great efforts and encountered difficulties before the defendant could be served with the charge.

However, in her ruling, Justice Chisoba Oji noted that the alleged offence was not a capital one and that the law presumes her innocent for now.

She admitted her to bail in the sum of N50M and one reasonable surety in the like sum.

The judge held that the surety must be owner of land property within the jurisdiction of the court.

Meanwhile, September 23 has been fixed for the commencement of trial in the charge marked
CR/297/25 filed on May 15, 2025.

Natasha is, in count one of the charge, accused of making harmful imputation which she knew would harm the reputation of the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, by claiming he plotted, with former Kogi governor, Yahaya Bello, to kill her.

In count two, Akpoti-Uduaghan is accused of making a similar harmful imputation knowing that it will harm the reputation of ex-governor Yahaya Bello.

She is, in count three, accused of making another imputation, which she knew would harm the reputation of Akpabio by associating him with the death of one Miss Imoren Iniubong.

Title: Unmasking a Syndicated Plot: The Alleged Apology of Kenny Okolugbo and the Conspiracy to Deceive the Public

Yesterday, social media was awash with a sensational and suspicious post allegedly emanating from the verified X handle of Kenny Okolugbo (). The post purportedly contained an apology directed at Senator Akpoti Uduaghan, in which Kenny was said to have admitted complicity in a grand plot, alongside Senator Godswill Akpabio and other unnamed actors, to malign and tarnish her reputation.

The controversial post claimed that all actions taken against Senator Akpoti Uduaghan were “carefully calculated to ridicule and destroy her image.” It ended with a dramatic plea for forgiveness and a religious sign-off: “May Allah have mercy on me.”

However, shortly after this supposed post gained traction, Kenny Okolugbo publicly raised the alarm that his X account had been hacked. He categorically denied authorship of the so-called apology and distanced himself from its contents.

As someone who knows Kenny personally, I was initially shocked, but not convinced. I knew, based on Kenny’s private conversations and consistent public stance, that it would be impossible for him to author such a statement. Kenny has always maintained that the numerous allegations made by Senator Akpoti Uduaghan against Senator Akpabio are false, destructive fabrications aimed at discrediting a respected political figure and father.

Kenny is also privy to vital information that will, in due course, disprove these claims. It is, therefore, illogical and inconsistent with his character to imagine that he would suddenly seek forgiveness from someone he believes to be the source of calculated falsehoods. This suspicious twist points clearly to a deeper, more coordinated agenda.

To investigate further, I examined the accounts and narratives of the first three social media figures who circulated the alleged apology: (Tunde Ednut), (Rufai Oseni), and (Adeola Fayehun). A critical comparison of their versions revealed troubling inconsistencies and clear signs of a coordinated disinformation campaign.

For instance, in Tunde Ednut, Rufai Oseni and Adeola's version, the second line reads: “To frame up Senator Akpoti Uduaghan…”—a significant deviation from the original post from Kenny’s hacked handle, which begins that line with “All these were carefully calculated…” They all went even further, adding bizarre and evidently fabricated claims about secret meetings in London with Dr. Sandra Duru, the manipulation of voice recordings, and the alleged cloning of Senator Akpoti Uduaghan’s phone.

These additions were not present in the original post and raise critical questions: who inserted these sensational lines into the narrative? And to what end? Clearly, these were not journalistic embellishments but deliberate fabrications intended to cast Kenny in a criminal light and to elevate Senator Akpoti Uduaghan’s version of events.

The timing of the three influencers’ posts also raises eyebrows. All three were among the first to “break” the story, and their language and sequencing bore uncanny similarities. This was not coincidental. It smacks of a syndicated media operation with a singular objective: destroy Kenny Okolugbo’s credibility while reinforcing a premeditated narrative.

There are two glaring signs that the so-called apology was a forged script:

1. The Use of “Allah” - Kenny is a devout Christian and a Knight of the Church. His religious identity and communication style would never include a phrase like “May Allah have mercy on me.” This inclusion was clearly intended to inject drama and mislead the public.

2. Rufai Oseni’s Curious Line of Questioning - Rather than confirm whether the post truly came from Kenny, Mr. Oseni’s consistent question was about how Kenny recovered his hacked account. That priority is telling. If the concern were genuine, the first issue should have been the authenticity of the message, not the recovery process.

Perhaps the most damning falsehood is the claim that Kenny met with Senator Godswill Akpabio and Dr. Sandra Duru in London to orchestrate a smear campaign and clone Senator Natasha’s voice. This claim is not only malicious, it is factually impossible.

Kenny’s international passport, which he has shown to trusted associates and even made public, clearly proves that his last visit to London was in November 2024. Meanwhile, Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan’s allegations of sexual harassment against Senator Akpabio only emerged in February 2025, three months later. The truth is that there was no meeting in London, no conspiracy, and no opportunity for the alleged plot. Crucially, Kenny Okolugbo did not even know Dr. Sandra Duru in November 2024, the period in question.

Would Kenny insert a detail into an alleged apology that could be so easily disproven by passport stamps and travel records? That alone shatters the credibility of the story and exposes the orchestrators of this smear for what they are: desperate actors in a poorly scripted drama.

The stamped passport entries and flight documentation speak louder than any viral post. They are concrete, verifiable, and admissible evidence. This alone should permanently discredit the fake apology and raise serious questions about the individuals pushing it.

The actions of Tunde Ednut, Rufai Oseni, and Adeola Fayehun now demand explanation. They must account for who provided them with the so-called apology and why they chose to publish embellished and misleading versions. Their synchronized narratives and shared fabrications suggest more than media negligence, they point to a calculated effort to manipulate public opinion.

We call on discerning Nigerians, reputable journalists, and law enforcement agencies to investigate this cyber forgery, criminal impersonation, and potential coordinated misinformation campaign. The truth must come to light, not only to clear Kenny Okolugbo’s name, but to protect the sanctity of our digital information space.

Let this serve as a warning: those who misuse influence and digital platforms to spread lies will eventually be exposed, factually, legally, and morally.

Title: "A Child in the Hallowed Chambers"

In every democratic society, the legislature is a sacred institution, a sanctuary of mature deliberation, decorum, and duty. It is here that laws are crafted, oversight is executed, and national interest is paramount. But what happens when this hallowed chamber is infiltrated by an individual whose conduct is far removed from the solemn expectations of legislative office? What happens when political theatre overtakes thoughtful governance? We are seeing that unfortunate tragedy play out in the conduct of suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, a classic case of immaturity, mischief, and self-absorption cloaked in activism.

The recent scandalous tale she peddled, this time on the discredited podcast of one Adeola Fayehun, is another shameful chapter in her growing anthology of lies. According to her, Senate President Godswill Akpabio demanded kickbacks from ministers nominated by President Tinubu through her committee. Again, without a shred of evidence, she launches a gr***de into the credibility of the Senate and its leadership, all for the sake of drama, clout, and petty vendetta. It is the conduct of a child masquerading as a legislator.

Let’s be clear: out of 109 senators currently serving in Nigeria's National Assembly, she alone seems to have appointed herself as the eternal victim. She alone was "sexually harassed." She alone was "denied access" to represent her constituency. She alone was "targeted for assassination." She alone was asked to bring returns. Is she an island in the Senate? Is she the only member with a conscience, or is this all a poorly written script for a self-inflicted tragedy?

These wild and unsubstantiated claims have become louder since she was relieved of her position as Chair of the Local Content Committee. It appears that losing that position triggered a campaign of bitterness and blackmail, with the intent to destabilize the very institution that once gave her a platform. But this is not activism, it is anarchy in disguise. A legislator with maturity and honour would address grievances through the right channels, not by weaponizing untruths and exploiting media platforms that thrive on sensationalism and distortion.

There are ethical standards for public service, and there is a higher threshold of responsibility that comes with being a lawmaker. You are expected to be measured, principled, evidence-based, and above all, truthful. When a legislator consistently acts like a bull in a china shop, breaking trust, poisoning the air with falsehoods, and slandering her colleagues without restraint, then the nation must ask: are we dealing with a public servant or a professional provocateur?

The Senate is not a playground. It is not a movie set for drama queens to rehearse their next episode of victimhood. It is not a pulpit for self-glorification. It is the temple of Nigeria’s lawmaking process. And those who enter it must do so with the reverence, maturity, and humility it deserves.

We cannot continue to tolerate juvenile delinquents in positions of great power. We cannot afford to hand microphones to those whose only agenda is to stir discord and feed conspiracy theories. If Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan wishes to be taken seriously, she must first take the institution she serves seriously. Until then, her credibility will continue to rot in the graveyard of her own lies.

"A Child in the Hallowed Chambers" is not just a metaphor. It is a warning. It is time we raised the bar for leadership, not just in intellect, but in character. God forbid that the future of our legislature is populated by such characters who know nothing of responsibility but everything about recklessness.

Senator Natasha and the Mobilization of the Gullible: Turning Personal Trouble Into Public Theatre

I watched with deep concern, tempered by amusement, tonight's interview granted by Suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan to the controversial YouTube host Adeola Fayehun. What should have been a platform for her to tell the world what she knows about Dr Sandra Duru whom she denied ever knowing, degenerated into half-baked conspiracy theories, and a deliberate attempt to manipulate public sentiment in the face of mounting legal accountability.

She began with an overly romanticised account of her marriage to Uduaghan, painting a picture of peace, unity, and love. But for those familiar with the combative reality of that union, her words rang hollow and insincere. People who know them well have witnessed a relationship filled with fight and discord, not harmony. The senator’s sugary speech about her private life was simply cosmetic, crafted to create an illusion that quickly crumbles under even the slightest scrutiny. Another story for another day.

Then came the most absurd part: a so-called national "clarion call" for whistleblowers on sexual harassment. A noble cause, yes, but coming from someone battling allegations of weaponizing falsehood and malicious defamation, it reeks of hypocrisy. The question is simple: Is this a genuine crusade for justice, or a strategic smokescreen to gather sympathy and silence her critics?

More troubling still were the specific claims made during the interview. Senator Natasha alleged that Senator Godswill Akpabio flew Dr. Sandra Duru to London and that there was some form of conversation between Dr. Olisa Agbakoba SAN and Dr. Sandra Duru. But let us ask the real question: How do these supposed interactions change the undeniable fact that it was Senator Natasha who first contacted Dr. Sandra Duru with a mission to malign Senator Akpabio?

If Senator Akpabio GCON and Dr. Agbakoba SAN spoke to Dr. Duru, does that retroactively erase Natasha's original scheme? Madam Natasha, did you at any point contact Dr. Sandra Duru to help assassinate the character of Senator Akpabio GCON using baseless allegations? If yes, what do you now hope to achieve by turning around to discredit the same Dr. Duru you once enlisted?

The sheer audacity to think that Nigerians are “useful idiots”, gullible, hungry, and blindly loyal to manufactured narratives is deeply insulting. You may be able to mobilize mobs on social media, but the courtroom is not TikTok. There, evidence reigns supreme. If you like mobilise millions of Nigerians to the court sitting, the sheer number of court's attendees does not produce evidence. It will only expose you further to ridicule.

Let it be made clear: this trial will not be turned into a circus. Senator Natasha, you are required to present evidence to back your wild accusations. Emotional blackmail, social media mobs, and fugitive YouTubers cannot substitute for legal proof. The people are wiser now, and the era of being manipulated by crocodile tears and choreographed interviews is fast fading.

If you ever had any legal grounding, now is the time to show it, not through drama, but through facts. If you believe this trial can be reduced to noise and spectacle, then you are playing with fire. Nigerians must not allow themselves to be recruited into personal vendettas disguised as activism. The line between justice and manipulation must never be blurred.

Akpabio Gives Out N2bn Cash Grants, Vehicles, Equipment, Scholarships to Constituents.

*** Commissions Building Projects Across Senatorial District

The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio on Friday distributed a massive array of empowerment items including mini buses, cars, tricycles, cargo tricycles, refrigerators, sewing machines, as well as cash grants worth over N2 billion and scholarships to beneficiaries from his Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District and across the other two Senatorial Districts of the state.

The gesture, which formed part of the second phase of his constituency empowerment programme, drew thousands of beneficiaries and supporters to the venue, turning the event into both a celebration and a political statement.

Beyond the material support, Akpabio used the occasion to announce a bold political endorsement ahead of the 2027 general elections. According to him, the people of Akwa Ibom State have collectively agreed to adopt President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Umo Eno, and himself as sole candidates for the offices of President, Governor, and Senator respectively.

“We have decided, and our people have spoken with one voice. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Umo Eno, and I, Godswill Akpabio, will go unopposed in 2027,” he declared, prompting a loud voice vote of endorsement from the crowd.

Akpabio lauded Governor Umo Eno’s leadership, describing him as “a man of peace and a man of God in attitude and actions,” whose collaboration with the federal government has brought stability and development to Akwa Ibom.

“President Tinubu is very happy with Akwa Ibom State because of the peace and progress here, made possible by the unity between the state government and the Senate President,” he added.

The distribution of empowerment tools and financial aid is being seen not just as philanthropy, but as a strategic move to solidify grassroots support and prepare the political ground ahead of the next elections. For many beneficiaries, the day ended not only with tools of livelihood but also with a renewed sense of political allegiance.

Items distributed during the empowerment programme included 30 minibuses, 67 passenger tricycles, 50 cassava processing machines, 347 Deep Freezers, 247 generating sets, truckloads of 50 kg bags of rice, over N2 billlion cash grants, scholarships and numerous others.

The President of the Senate along with his entourage consisting fellow Senators, political stakeholders and Local Government Chairmen later visited Ikono, Ini and Obot Akara Local Government Areas where he commissioned some constituency projects ranging from Police staff quarters, a fully built modern market, school blocks among others.

Natasha's Ides of May and the Vindication of Akpabio

By

Yusuf Alli

The internet was abuzz the night of 2025 May Day, as a United States based activist, Dr Sandra Duru, with the moniker Prof Mgbeke made an expose` on the enfant terrible of the Senate and the suspended Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan as a chronic liar, manipulator, and embarking on a malicious campaign of deceit to malign the reputation of the person and President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio.

According to Prof Mgbeke, the Kogi Central Senator who was linked to her through a top opposition politician, had sought her support to join in the campaign of calumny against Akpabio and she had actually started pilloring the man. Evidence abound on her social media pages. This was until she asked the Senator for evidence of the sexual harassment allegations. "Natasha told me there was nothing like sexual harassment. I was shocked. Honestly I broke down because I had already started fighting the Senate President, in my effort to support Natasha," she said. According to her, the sexual harassment allegation was her strategy to garner public sympathy and support in the fight to discredit the Senate President.

For Prof Mgbeke, the confession by Natasha that there was no sexual harassment marked the turning point for her. "Natasha is on a mission to destroy men. I cannot watch her destroy our men, I cannot watch her destroy our sons, I cannot watch her destroy our girls who are following her blindly."

In her continued desperation to nail Akpabio, Prof Mgbeke further said that after realising that her sexual harassment allegation wasn't getting much traction and public sympathy, Natasha offered her N200 million to accuse the Senate President of organ harvesting, linking him with the death of a young girl who passed away a few years ago. How desperate can a woman be to manufacture such inanity.

She summed it up this way: “What is happening is not activism. It is an orchestrated strategy and an abuse of gender advocacy, a staged performance designed to provoke public sympathy and manufacture false narratives and target political opponents,” Mgbeke stated.

However before Prof Mgbeke's explosive exposé, many discerning minds had asked Senator Natasha for evidence of the sexual harassment allegation. To take her seriously, many demanded concerete evidence in the form of private chats, love text messages, pictures, videos and voice recordings, call logs, etc especially with her reputation of having made similar claims about other men in the past which turned out to be false accusations. Till date she has not provided any scintilla of evidence despite making local and international media rounds her favourite pastime. All she was interested in was to drag the reputation of the Senate President in the mud .

Prof Mgbeke only confirmed what many Nigerians had suspected and some questions asked. How can a man sexually harass you in front of your husband and in the presence of many other Senators? How can a victim of sexual harassment indulge in effusive praise and adoration of the abuser in the social media the day after the alleged incident? How can the victim go ahead to travel to different countries with the abuser and taking selfies in foreign countries with the same man whom she alleged sexually harassed her? In any case, why remain silent over such grievious act (by her admission not even informing her husband) for over one year until you were removed as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Local Content and your seat in the Senate chamber was changed?

However the evidence of Prof Mgbeke were stunning and incontrovertible: from call logs, private chats, voice recordings of the Kogi Senator, it became obvious that Senator Natasha was on a pull-him-down mission through fabricated allegations for political gains. More stunning were Natasha’s claim, according to Prof Mgbeke of having recruited and paid Dr Oby Ezekwesili and Dr Abiola Akiyode of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) to disrupt the Senate Committee sitting and how she bragged about having media organizations on her pay roll to do her biddings. She described her followers who swallowed her lies hook, line and sinker as "gullible and hungry" while those she recruited to wage this war were described as "useful idiots."

In view of the weighty allegations of the Kogi Senator's scheme, the security agencies especially the Department of State Services (DSS) and the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) have to get to the roots of the allegation about Natasha’s plot to bring down a "Yoruba Government." According to Prof Mgbeke “She said the reason for the fight was not really about the Senate President but it is about the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, that they don’t want the Yoruba government to go beyond four years. She said there was no sexual harassment evidence of any kind.” To destabilize the Tinubu administration, her sponsors would reward her with the governorship of Kogi State or the Minister of Petroleum. "She said all she wanted was for the Senate President to step down, that the Senate President is the one shielding Nigeria’s President."

This is hardly surprising though because no sooner had Natasha made her unfounded allegations than opposition politicians started making political capital out of it. Obviously Natasha was not working alone. The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar jumped into the fray and talked about corruption (laugh out loud) former Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki pontificated about the integrity of the Senate while Ezekwesili called on Akpabio to step aside. So obviously, Natasha was playing a political script, she was dancing naked to the drum beats of the opposition with President Bola Tinubu as their main target using the fabricated allegations against Akpabio.

The puerile attempt by Natasha to deny Prof Mgbeke's allegations with hard evidence as "entirely untrue and most manipulated to serve Sandra Duru’s ulterior motive" is most unconvincing. It is true to her character. If with the avalanche of proofs and evidence which Prof Mgbeke said she has submitted to security agencies for forensic analysis, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan still denies knowing the US based activist then she is irredeemable. Concerned citizens are demanding for speedy investigation by security agencies and their findings made public while those found to be involved in the plot to destabilize the administration of President Tinubu be brought to justice on account of their conspiracy.

The story rings true with fact that there was never a thing like sexual harassment. It only existed in the imagination of the Kogi Senator and her gullible followers.
