Osinbajo denies Presidential amibition.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has once again denied reports he will be contesting for President in 2023.

Recall that on monday, reports were rife that Osinbajo had informed his principal, President Buhari, of his intention to run for President on the platform of the APC.

However, in an interview with Arise TV, Laolu Akande, who is the Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and Publicity, said the report is false and speculative. He said his previous tweets denying Osinbajo's ambition remain intact and that any information about the Vice President will come from him and not the media.

This will be the second time in about a month that rumors of Osinabjo joining the 2023 Presidential race have surfaced.

Don’t board BRT bus without inner lights at night, Sanwo-Olu tells Lagosians.

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has cautioned residents across the state against boarding the Bus Rapid Transit vehicle without inner lights at night.

The governor said this following the abduction and murder of a 22-year-old lady, Oluwabamishe Ayanwole, after boarding a BRT bus. A video shared by Bamise before her gruesome murder showed she was in a BRT bus without inner lights.

Speaking at an event held at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan to commemorate International Women’s Day on Tuesday, March 8, the governor noted that buses that have closed for the day would indicate by switching off its inner lights.

According to him, when BRT drivers switch off their inner lights, Sanwo-Olu said the buses were expected to be taken back empty to their yards.

“Any bus that has its inner lights on at night is certainly still on service. Once the lights are off and the radar in the bus is not displaying, people should desist from boarding such bus, because it is no longer in service at that period.

By that time, the checker and conductor would have been out of the bus, except the driver who is expected to take the empty bus back to their yards'' the governor said

Sanwo-Olu said the circumstances surrounding the death of Ayanwole, while in transit on a BRT bus, would be fully unravelled, stressing that stiff punishment awaits anyone found culpable in what he described as a “criminal and dastardly act”.

Nigerian Man Poses As Police Director-General In India To Defraud School Teacher Of N7.5m.

The Thiruvananthapuram city cyber-crime police in Kerala, India has arrested a Nigerian man for allegedly defrauding a school teacher of Rs 14 lakh (N7.5m) in the name of Director General of Police, DGP, Anil Kant.

The Nigerian identified as Romanus Chibochi was arrested from Anand Vihar, Uttam Nagar, in New Delhi on Tuesday, March 8.

The accused who was produced in Dwarka court on Tuesday, will be brought to the state on Wednesday.

Police said that the mobile phones of the Nigerian national that was used for the fraud have also been seized.

The complainant, Anitha, based at Kundara in Kollam, had received a message that she has won an online lottery and Rs 14 lakh has to be paid as tax, failing which a case will be booked against her name.

After she ignored the message, she received a WhatsApp message with a photo and details of the state police chief, saying that he (the DGP) was in Delhi and the money had to be transferred to the account number specified before he returns to the state.

Following this, she inquired with the office of the state police chief from where she was informed that the police chief was indeed in New Delhi.

Finding that the information received regarding SPC’s location from the state police headquarters matched with what she received in the WhatsApp message and believing that the message was legitimate, she immediately remitted the money to the account number specified in the WhatsApp message.

After realising that she has been duped, she filed a complaint with the police.
