HEBREWS 5.

*“For every high priest taken from among men is appointed for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins.”*
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭5‬:‭1‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

- My lesson in this verse is this: Everyone called by God is *anointed* for men and “appointed” for men. What this means is that your gift is not for you, it is for people. The grace of God upon you, was put on you by God for people and for things pertaining to the advancement of Gods kingdom. This is such a valid lesson. Use your gifts for the advancement of Gods kingdom.

*“But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”*
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭5‬:‭14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

- If you want solid food, grow. Studying the scriptures, I have come to understand that God expects us to grow. No matter how much a mother loves a child, she will not give him or her solid food at a certain age and that is how it is with God, there are something’s we are asking for that God cannot give not because He can’t but because we have not come of age to handle them. Therefore, GROW !

*“For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.”*
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4‬:‭2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
📌The Word of God can be preached and heard by so many people but can only profit those who mix that word with faith. So asides hearing the word of God, another responsibility we have is to mix that word with faith and act on the word with faith.

“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4‬:‭12‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Notes From The Verse Above :
1. The word of God is *living* and *powerful*. Therefore when we speak Gods word, we should expect to see power and because it is living, everything dead comes back to life when the word is spoken.
2. ⁠The word of God is *sharper*, it can *pierce*. That is to say, the word of God can break any situation, no matter how tough.
3. ⁠The word of God is a *discerner* of the thoughts and intents of the heart so with the word in you, your mind is renewed daily, and you become more sensitive.

📌Knowing all of these, why wouldn’t you study your Bible? My God ! The word of God is an advantage !!!!

- Everything we see was builded by someone but God is the builder of all things. This makes me know that GOD cannot mismanage anyone's destiny. If He is the builder of all things, then your life and destiny is safe in His hands.

NB: THE SIMPLICITY OF GOD'S WORD AMAZES ME.

*“And “You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, And the heavens are the work of Your hands.”*
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭1‬:‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

- This verse right here !!!!!!! I had to take a pause to mediate on it.

*You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth”
- ⁠If He laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning, what can’t He lay in my life ? Do you know what it takes to lay a foundation for a building? Let alone the whole earth?
Now, tell me, What can’t he lay in my and your life ? Absolutely nothing !!!

“And the heavens are the work of Your hands”
- ⁠If the heavens are the work of His hands, then what can’t He work out in my life ? Considering how massive and well made Heaven is and the maker is God. What can’t that same God make out of my life. ??kai !!!

On a serious note eh …Anyone who jokes with the Word of God is really making a very d!eadly mistake. Gods Word is packed with revelations that can change our lives.

ACTS 18

*“Now the Lord spoke to Paul in the night by a vision, “Do not be afraid, but speak, and do not keep silent; for I am with you, and no one will attack you to hurt you; for I have many people in this city.””*
‭‭Acts‬ ‭18‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

- Such a beautiful assurance God gave to Paul in these verses. We can’t be on an errand for God and be stranded or molested.
- This is also an assurance to us, not to be silent but to keep doing what God has called you to do.

Honestly, I desire to have the kind of passion Paul had. I mean he was accused and taken to court (judgement seat) (*VERSE 12-14*) and just immediately after the case was dismissed, Paul was back to preaching 👇🏻

*“After he had spent some time there, he departed and went over the region of Galatia and Phrygia in order, strengthening all the disciples.”*
‭‭Acts‬ ‭18‬:‭23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Hmmmmmm….🤔 Lord help me to have this kind of zeal, passion and doggedness.

But seriously though, if you are not filled and intoxicated by and with the Holy Spirit, there are things you cannot do. So desire to be filled by Him.

SOMETIMES, ALL YOU NEED IS ONE WORD.

Matthew 14, the story of Jesus walking on water is very interesting and impactful.

In verse 28 of that story, Peter said Lord if it is you, tell me to come. That one word was all Peter needed to walk on water and in verse 29, the Bible says, “and God said COME, and then Peter came down and walked on water to meet Jesus. Just ONE word.

Peter stood on one word and with that word did something that no other disciple had done.
Peter took just one word and walked on water and is still remembered for that till today.
Peter stood on one word and did something no one in his linage had ever done.

Friend, most times all you need is one word and the faith to hold on to that word and run with it for the rest of your life.

What did God say to you many years ago? Run with that word and guess what? He is there to pick you up when you fall. Just like Peter in verse 30, he began to sink because he got distracted and in verse 31, Jesus picked him up.

God's word does not grow old or lose its power because He said it years ago, no! His word is new every morning!

Run with that word, sometimes, that’s all you need!
