Just In: DIGITAL HEALTH CARE HOSPITAL IN OZU ABAM, Abia State.
This beautiful edifice nearing completion is a hospital situated in Ozu Abam community, Arochukwu LGA of Abia State.
It is called, Hydro Therapy Center which is one of the departments in the Native Country Health Care Center.
This health care facility is being built by Prof. Wilson T. U. Onyeani, an Ozu Abam born, US-based neurosurgeon with special focus on basal skull fractures, a Professor at American Hope University and a Professor Emeritus at Native Country Healthcare Systems Institute of Advanced Patient Safety.
The multi-purpose, state of the art 800 bed hospital facility, which will soon be commissioned boasts of a;
-Multi Specialty care
-Trauma Centers,
- Cardiovascular
- Mental Health and a Wellness Center
- Neuroscience and Neurosurgery Excellence Centers.
The facility also houses a;
- Cancer and Gastroenterology Centers, -Internal Medicine Department,
- Gynecology and Surgery Centers
- Vision and Dialysis Centers.
It is believed that this multi - purpose health care facility, when fully operational, will go a long way in mitigating all health related challenges in this part of the country.

JUST IN: JULIUS BERGER MD VISITS ABIA GOVERNOR-ELECT DR. ALEX OTTI

The Abia State Governor-Elect Dr. Alex Otti on Wednesday played host to the Managing Director of Julius Berger Nigeria, Dr. Lars Richter.
Dr Richter was at Dr. Otti's country home in Nvosi, Isialangwa South Local Government Area, on a courtesy visit to the Governor-Elect. It was a rare visit by such a high ranking staff of the company.
Since being declared Governor-Elect of Abia on March 22, 2023 by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Dr. Otti has been meeting with several groups, corporate organisations and individuals, many of whom come to felicitate with him on his victory at the polls, while some others come with proposals to partner with the state in the area of investments and infrastructure development.
One of the earier callers was Nigeria's telecom giant MTN, whose team of senior management, led by the Chief Enterprise e-Business Officer, Lynda Saint Nwafor, said MTN would be looking at collaborating with the incoming Abia State government in different sectors, including telecommunications access, empowering the small and medium enterprises (SMEs), education, security, and E-Governance among others.
Dr. Otti had, in one of his interactions with the media during the campaigns for the governorship election, declared that the mere fact that he was announced governor of Abia State would attract many strategic investors and development partners to the state.
The Wednesday meeting with the managing director of Julius Berger, reputed as the foremost engineer and civil works construction company in Nigeria, coupled with the earlier MTN visit, attests to that fact.

A Texas woman who nearly lost her life after giving birth is back at home with her infant daughter and 2-year-old son.

Krystina Pacheco, 29, of Pleasanton, Texas, gave birth to her daughter Amelia in October in what she described as an uneventful C-section delivery.

Two days later, on the day she was discharged from the hospital, Pacheco said she started feeling feverish but assumed it was just part of her recovery post-C-section and was given ibuprofen by a nurse.

PDP FROWNS AT INEC AS THEIR RINGING MACHINE IS PLACED ON TRIAL'
PRESS RELEASE
The Abia State Chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) wishes to express her disappointment and consternation with the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC Nigeria to review the collation of Obingwa LGA result which has already passed through unit, ward and Local government collation processes, ostensibly because INEC “office in Obingwa Local Government Area was invaded by thugs yesterday Sunday 19th, March 2023 and our officials held hostage in relation to the collation of results from the Local Government Area”, according to a statement credited to Barr Festus Okoye.
It is important to note the following:
1. There were also reports of INEC officials allegedly being held hostage in Ohafia LGA, Umuahia South and Umuahia North, yet INEC accepted results from those LGAs.
2. It is on record that Obingwa is the only LGA where polling agents insisted on full compliance with the INEC’s stated guideline of announcement of results at unit, and collation at wards so that polling agents can have copies prior to submission to State collation office.
3. We are not aware of any report by security agencies in the state, including Nigerian Police Force if the Department of State Services (DSS), indicating violence in Obingwa LGA before, during and after the election of March 18th, 2023.
4. Our party, and indeed others, have seriously complained about results that were changed at INEC office Umuahia, contrary to INEC procedures, with particular reference to Unuahia North, Umuahia South, Osisioma, Aba North, Aba South and Arochukwu without any action taken by INEC.
5. We suspect strongly that this so called review is another grand design to subvert the 2022 electoral guidelines, as published by INEC in our state given that in the case of Presidential elections, PDP and other parties made similar calls for review without acceptance by INEC that simply asked them to “go to court”.
We therefore call on INEC to immediately accept and announce Obingwa LGA result as collated from units through the wards, using the same guideline and rules they applied during 2023 presidential election.
