Attempted Bank Hacking Foiled at FCMB Secretariat Branch
Osogbo — There was a mild drama at the FCMB branch located at the Secretariat area yesterday when an unidentified man allegedly attempted to hack into the bank’s systems after hiding overnight within the premises.
According to eyewitness reports from a bank staff member, the man entered the banking hall during official hours, proceeded directly to the toilet where he locked himself in, and then climbed into the ceiling. After close of work, when all staff had vacated the premises, the suspect reportedly descended from the ceiling and attempted to hack into the bank’s systems.
The plot was uncovered the following morning when staff resumed duty and observed that the door was locked from the inside. Upon forcing entry, they discovered the intruder still within the building, concealed above the ceiling. It was also noticed that several systems displayed unusual messages, including a prompt stating, “restarting, click ok to accept.”
