Ododo's Lifesaving Initiative: Provides FREE Commodities for Malnourished Children

In a bold move to combat malnutrition in Kogi State, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has announced that his administration will provide FREE commodities to treat severe acute malnutrition in children. This initiative is part of the state's commitment to reducing maternal, neonatal, and child mortality. The governor made this declaration while opening the Kogi State Training-the-Trainers (STOT) on Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (IMAM), funded through the ANRIN project.

The state government has purchased commodities worth millions of Naira to treat children with severe acute malnutrition, which will be available for free in all referral centers across the state. This move aims to improve the health of women and children in Kogi State by providing essential interventions, including maternal and child nutrition, prevention and treatment of diarrhea, and provision of vitamins and minerals. With this initiative, the state is poised to make a significant impact in reducing malnutrition and its long-term effects on children's health and development.

Kogi State Shines in Mining Sector: Governor Ododo Ranked Most Compliant

The Federal Government has recognized Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, as the most compliant governor in Nigeria's solid minerals sector. This prestigious ranking was announced by the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Dele Alake, at the Africa Natural Resources and Energy Investment Summit in Abuja. Dr. Alake commended Governor Ododo for his commitment to regulatory compliance, institutional reforms, and responsible governance in the solid minerals industry, noting that Kogi State has demonstrated an outstanding level of alignment with the Federal Government's roadmap for the sector.

Governor Ododo's administration has created an enabling environment for mining development, backed by seamless regulatory processes that promote ease of doing business. The state's Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr. Bashir Muhammad Abubakar, expressed gratitude to the Minister and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for their support, emphasizing that the administration is open to strategic partnerships, technology transfer, and capacity-building programs to accelerate sustainable growth in the sector.

In a resounding declaration of faith in the All Progressives Congress (APC), thousands of opposition party members, including high-profile politicians, defected to the ruling party in Kogi State. The mass defection, which took place in Isanlu, Yagba East Local Government Area, saw prominent figures such as Hon.
