Ododo's Lifesaving Initiative: Provides FREE Commodities for Malnourished Children
In a bold move to combat malnutrition in Kogi State, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has announced that his administration will provide FREE commodities to treat severe acute malnutrition in children. This initiative is part of the state's commitment to reducing maternal, neonatal, and child mortality. The governor made this declaration while opening the Kogi State Training-the-Trainers (STOT) on Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (IMAM), funded through the ANRIN project.
The state government has purchased commodities worth millions of Naira to treat children with severe acute malnutrition, which will be available for free in all referral centers across the state. This move aims to improve the health of women and children in Kogi State by providing essential interventions, including maternal and child nutrition, prevention and treatment of diarrhea, and provision of vitamins and minerals. With this initiative, the state is poised to make a significant impact in reducing malnutrition and its long-term effects on children's health and development.
