Homeowners at Renaissance Estate in Port Harcourt are demanding N4 billion compensation from First Trust Mortgage Bank following a distressing eviction incident, causing upheaval among affected residents.

Initially, in 2010, the bank sold 12 units of 4-bedroom flats within the GRA Phase 3 area to these homeowners at N50 million per flat. However, a recent turn of events saw these individuals forcefully ousted from their dwellings by enforcers of a Supreme Court judgment issued in January 2003.

In a firm stance, the aggrieved homeowners, represented by AK & CO, issued a stern “Notice of Demand” to the Managing Director of First Trust Mortgage Bank Plc. The notice holds the bank accountable for gross negligence in failing to conduct due diligence on the property title transferred to the Renaissance homeowners.
