URGENT CRY FOR HELP: YOUNG BENUE CAR DEALER IN COMA OVER GOVERNOR ALIA’S UNPAID ₦1.2B CAR DEAL – VDM VISITS HOSPITAL

Makurdi, Benue State – September 28, 2025
A young car dealer from Benue State, who owns Brim’s Auto, is fighting for his life in a coma today. The pressure of heavy debts from a deal gone wrong with the government has broken him. This sad story started with hope but has turned into pain, and people are begging Governor Hyacinth Alia to act fast before it’s too late.
In August 2025, Governor Alia asked Brim’s Auto to supply nine expensive cars, like Toyota Prados, worth ₦1.2 billion for state officials and lawmakers. The young dealer, a hardworking man in his early 30s, saw this as a big chance to grow his business. He only had four cars, so he borrowed from other dealers and used his own savings to get the rest. “He trusted the governor’s promise,” a friend said outside the hospital. “He thought this deal would change his life, not destroy it.”
The cars were delivered, and the government even shared them with assembly members, but no payment came. Brim’s Auto paid ₦12 million upfront as a “tender fee” to the Benue State government, but after that, nothing. They’ve been ignored, with some saying the government asked for extra “sorting” fees or even called the dealer to Abuja for strange reasons. As the debts piled up, other car dealers started pressuring him to pay back what he borrowed. The stress was too much. Sleepless nights led to sickness, and after a heated argument with angry dealers, he fell
into a coma.
Today, popular activist Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), visited the dealer in a Lagos hospital. VDM was in tears, holding the young man’s hand. “This is about a life, not just money,” he said in a video. “Governor Alia, you promised to serve people, not ruin them. This man borrowed to help you, and now his family is suffering. Pay him or explain why you haven’t!”
At the hospital, the dealer’s wife cries by his bed, praying for a miracle. Their small children wait outside, not knowing their father’s life is in danger because of an unpaid deal. Doctors say he’s “critical but stable,” with high blood pressure and weak organs from too much stress. “He’s fighting, but he needs help fast,” a nurse said quietly.
This story is breaking hearts across Nigeria.
The cars are being driven around Benue, but the man who supplied them is dying in debt. Governor Alia, who people once loved for his kindness, must answer now. Why hasn’t the money been paid? Why is a young man paying with his life?
We beg the Benue State Government: Pay Brim’s Auto now. We call on the EFCC to check this matter. We ask Nigerians to pray, donate, or share this story with . This young man’s life is fading, but his story must be heard. Governor Alia, act now—save a life, save a family. Fr.
