Over 8,000 delegates are expected to attend the 2026 APC National Convention, led by President Bola Tinubu, 31 governors, and members of the Federal Executive Council.
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, disclosed this during a meeting with journalists at the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja while unveiling plans for the event scheduled for March 27 and 28. Idris, who serves as Co-Chairman of the convention’s Media and Publicity Committee, highlighted preparations, logistics, and the party’s democratic messaging, urging committee members to work in unity to ensure a successful outing.
Meanwhile, Eagle Square in Abuja is already bustling with activity ahead of the convention, which begins today. The venue is adorned in APC colours, with state-designated pavilions set up for polling. Security has been tightened, with personnel from multiple agencies deployed, major roads barricaded, and traffic diverted. As a result, many residents are trekking to work, while federal workers in nearby offices have been directed to work from home for the weekend.
