The World Now Has A New King of Money As
Ellison overtakes Musk as world’s richest man

Oracle co-founder, Larry Ellison, has toppled Elon Musk to become the world’s richest person, ending the Tesla boss’s nearly year-long reign at the top of the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

Bloomberg reports that Ellison’s fortune surged by a record $101bn on Wednesday after Oracle reported quarterly results that beat expectations and signalled further growth in its cloud business.

The increase lifted his wealth to $393bn, putting him ahead of Musk, whose net worth now stands at $385bn.

This marks a turning point in Musk's reign as the king of money.

Chinese automaker BYD has officially launched the Seal 06 DM-i, a plug-in hybrid station wagon priced from $15,230 (109,800 yuan), offering a combined range of up to 1,243 miles and fuel efficiency rated at 74.7 mpg.

It features 670 liters of trunk space and accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 8.7 seconds. The Seal 06 DM-i supports Vehicle-to-Load functionality and features BYD’s latest hybrid tech, combining a 1.5-liter engine with a 161-hp electric motor and a 10.08 kWh LFP battery providing 50 miles of EV range.

A second, more powerful variant pairs the same engine with a 215-hp electric motor and an 18.7 kWh battery for 93 miles of electric-only range and faster 7.7-second acceleration. BYD plans to target overseas markets, including Europe, where competitors like Zeekr, Nio, and Denza have already entered or are preparing to launch.
