Khaleepha Abdul Lateef Salaty, the leader of Qadiriyyah in Yorubaland, has addressed the public regarding the recent tragic incident involving the murder of a young woman, Hafsoh, allegedly by a man named Abdul Rahman in Ilorin.
In his statement, Khaleepha Salaty strongly condemned the act of murder, emphasizing that Islam strictly prohibits the taking of innocent lives. He further denounced the attempt to associate the killer with Islam and Sufism, stating that such actions are entirely against the teachings of both.
“The act of killing is not part of Islam, nor is it a practice within Sufism. Even the claim that the perpetrator identifies as Qadiriyyah does not reflect the principles and values of the Qadiriyyah order,” he stated.
Khaleepha Salaty called on the government and relevant authorities to ensure that justice is served for the late Hafsoh and that the necessary legal actions are taken.
He extended his heartfelt condolences to Hafsoh’s family, praying for their strength and for Allah’s mercy upon the deceased.
“May Allah protect us all and grant us His blessings,” he concluded.
