WORKERS' DAY: AFRICAN WOMEN, PURSUE YOUR PASSION, ACHIEVE YOUR DREAMS, BUILD YOUR HOME.

By Dr Gloria Laraba Shoda,

As we celebrate International Workers Day this May 1, we honor the tireless efforts of women across Africa who work with dedication and passion.
To the women of Nigeria, Africa, and beyond, we (International Council of Women; Africa Region) say:

You Are the Backbone of Your Family
Your love, care, and sacrifice are the foundation of your home. As you nurture your husband, children, and entire family, remember that your strength and resilience are inspiring.

Pursue Your Passion
Don't let your dreams fade away. Pursue what sets your soul on fire, whether it's a career, business, or personal passion. Your purpose is waiting to be unleashed.

Define what success means to you and set achievable goals. Break down barriers, overcome obstacles, and strive for excellence. Your determination will pave the way for future generations.

Achieve Your Dreams
Believe in yourself and your abilities. You have the power to create the life you desire. Stay focused, work hard, and never give up on your aspirations.

Build Your Home with Love and Intelligence
As you build your home, remember that it's not just about providing for your family's physical needs. Nurture their emotional and spiritual well-being too. Create a haven of love, peace, and understanding.

Resilience is Your Superpower
Life may throw challenges your way, but you've proven time and again that you're capable of overcoming them. Draw on your inner strength, stay resilient, and keep moving forward.

You Are Not Alone
You're part of a community of strong, determined women who are rooting for you. Support one another, celebrate each other's successes, and uplift each other in times of need.

Conclusion
As we celebrate International Workers Day, let's recommit to our passions, our families, and ourselves. Let's strive for greatness, support one another, and create a brighter future for all. Remember, you are capable, you are strong, and you are deserving of success and happiness.

Happy International Workers Day

From me, with love,

Dr Gloria Laraba Shoda,
President, Africa Regional Council of Women (ARCW); Founder, African League of Women's Voters (ALWOV)
Board Member, International Council of Women (ICW).
