“Rap Is Boring To Me” — Wizkid Calls Rap Music ‘Repetitive’ And ‘Boring’
Nigerian music star Wizkid calls rap music ‘repetitive’ and ‘boring’ in a recent interview.

In a recent interview with 10 Magazine, Afrobeats superstar Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, speaks about Afrobeats as the ‘new pop’ and claims he doesn’t listen to rap music.

Despite having featured two of the world’s biggest rappers – Drake and Skepta – on his songs (the latter in his latest album), Wizkid thinks rap is boring and repetitive.

Speaking of Afrobeats as the new pop, Wizkid says he sold two million copies off of one song (‘Essence’) in America. ‘Even some American artists don’t have a diamond record’, he points out.

He then says that he doesn’t listen to any other genre of music anymore and that rap isn’t how it used to be—‘I don’t listen to rap – that s**t is boring to me’.

He continues, ‘It’s dead now, it’s tired. These guys do the same s**t, rap on the same beats, same flows’.

Burna Boy wins the 2022 Mobo Awards for Best International Act and Best Africa Musical Act.

Burna Boy edges Davido, Tiwa Savage, Wizkid and others to win the highly coveted MOBO award for the year 2022. Following a successful year of headlining shows, releasing an album and creating top hit songs, Burna Boy have won two awards at the recent Mobo Awards, edging out fellow nominees like Davido, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage and others.

The announcement was made on the official page of Moboawards. Burna Boy who released the album Love, Damini this year where he featured top international artiste like Ed Sheeran and Pa Salieu has definitely worked for the success he is enjoying.

This, obviously will be one of the top award for Burna Boy as he has been nominated for Grammy as well.

Mavin Records Unveil Tracklist For Mavin All-star Album ‘Chapter X’
The official tracklist for Mavin Records’ all-star album ‘Chapter X’ has been unveiled.

On Wednesday (November 30), Mavin Records’ signee Johnny Drille took to Twitter and unveiled the tracklist for the Mavin all-star forthcoming album Chapter X. The album houses 10 tracks including two pre-released singles ‘Overloading’ and ‘Won Da Mo’.

Chaper X, featuring all Mavin stars, will be out on December 2. It features Don Jazzy, Rema, Ayra Starr, Crayon, Ladipoe, Johnny Drille, Magixx, Boy Spyce, Bayanni, and DJ Big N.

Shortly after his fight with Naira Marley, Mohbad launches his own record label. After he got into a violent altercation with his former record label boss, Mohbad has created his own record label. It should be remebered that Mohbad accused Naira Marley of asking people to beat him up.

Subsequently, the singer’s cries for help on the internet saw him break off his deal from Naira Marley and the Marlian Music setup. Mohbad posted on the social media to announce the launch of his own record label called Imolenization with a logo depicting his name as light. Check his announcement below:

In his post, Mohbad writes: ” “A new speed begins; I am so excited to announce to y’all my new record label, “IMOLENIZATION”. Since the beginning, it has been my dream to own a record label and finally the day has come.”

Popular Gospel singer, Sammie Okposo is dead.

According to reports, 51-year-old Okposo slumped and died on Friday morning.

The popular singer’s death comes months after he was embroiled in an adultery scandal.

The ‘Wellu Wellu’ crooner, in a lengthy Instagram page, urged Nigerians to pray for him.

He admitted cheating on his wife when he travelled to the US in late 2021.

Nigerian music star CKay has put his haters down attempting to undermine his huge achievements in the music industry.

The ‘Love Nwantinti’ crooner, on Friday (November 5), took to his Twitter handle and bragged about his accomplishments while knocking his haters.

He noted that he has been on tour in Europe and North America for two months and almost all his audience are non Africans.

He also shut down haters who say he is ‘just one hit wonder’, as he bragged that foreigners can already sing his new album word-for-word and that the venues he perfroms are all sold-out.

Lastly, CKay bragged about the kind of love he receives everywhere and about plaques he has earned so far, underscoring that his crib is full of plaques.
