Congress of Africa Journalists (CAJ), marks 3 years of legitimacy. November 16, 2023: an idea was born by visionary pen pushers of African origin who peep into the future of media firmament and their vision birthed a very wide umbrella that serves as shield for the men and women of the pen fraternity.
A family of indigenous pen pushers was thus erected for the purpose of uniting the voices of journalists of African origin all over the world, with the aim of protecting journalists and to improving the practice. Today, the seeming crawling child has grown into attracting young chap with stupendous network in over 30 different African countries. Apparently, it is a great feat for the leaders and members of the organisation. Mutayoba Arbogast, one of the members of the CAJ in Tanzania in this edition is taking our readers on a tour of the organisation’s acceptance by women and men of the pen profession in the East African country.
“In 2021, two journalists in Tanzania: Michael Sikapundwa, CAJ Country Chairperson, Prosper Makene and Mutayoba Arbogast, were interested in this Network, and ever since, the numbers of professionals on the platform is assuming a soaring pedestal. Members on the network in Tanzania have been raising awareness and objectives of CAJ in country and the entire East Africa, working with the organisation’s East African Region Vice President, Sabiiti Daniel, a renown senior journalist in Rwanda. “ With the CAJ platform in Tanzania, some of our hitherto local reporter colleagues are now wearing the regalia of international professionals as they write for international journals. Journalists in the fold continue to write in support and promoting the African Union Agenda 2063- a master plan for transforming Africa into the global powerhouse of the future for the inclusive and sustainable development - The Africa we want!” writes Arbogast. This piece is our big story for this edition “ CAJ @3: Hope of Stronger Media Network And Change in Tanzania.....
