Monday 10 February
THE LOST AXE HEAD
2 Kings 6:1-7

V 1-7 “And the sons of the prophets said unto Elisha, Behold now, the place where we dwell with thee is too strait for us. Let us go, we pray thee, unto Jordan, and take thence every man a beam, and let us make us a place there, where we may dwell. And he answered, Go ye. And one said, Be content, I pray thee, and go with thy servants. And he answered, I will go. So he went with them. And when they came to Jordan, they cut down wood. But as one was felling a beam, the axe head fell into the water: and he cried, and said, Alas, master! for it was borrowed. And the man of God said, Where fell it? And he shewed him the place. And he cut down a stick, and cast [it] in thither; and the iron did swim. Therefore said he, Take [it] up to thee. And he put out his hand, and took it”.
The natural properties of metal will not make it float on water. But by the anointing, Elisha made the axe head float. Naturally, when some things happen, we conclude it cannot be reversed again because the natural laws say so. However, we serve a God, who can suspend natural laws and also bypass protocol to favour His elects.
Some dreams and visions may be lost. Even the timing of those visions may agree with the fact that they cannot be revived or manifest again. The Lord sent me to you this morning that that dream, that vision that seems lost will still manifest. The mercy of God will erase your past mistakes and grant you a new beginning in the name of Jesus. Psalm 126:1 "When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream”.

Prayer point: Father Lord, by Your mercy, please restore all my lost visions in the name of Jesus.

Tuesday 29 October
ARMOUR OF MERCY
James 2:13

V 13 “For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment”.
If anyone commits any crime and the long arm of the law catches up with him, he will pay for his crimes. In the physical laws, if the offender after some time is perceived as repentant, he may be released from the deserved punishment. As it is in the physical, same it is in the spirit. Many people are deserving of judgement. But if they repent genuinely and call upon God, His mercy may speak for them.
Two thieves were crucified with Jesus, mercy found one before they died. Luke 23:39-43 “And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise”.
When you are a candidate of mercy, no matter how far you stray away from God, His mercies will still bring you back. Romans 9:15-16 “For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So then [it is] not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy”.

Prayer point: Father Lord, have mercy on me and make me a candidate of Your mercy in Jesus’ name.

Monday 28 October
ARMOUR OF GOD
Ephesians 6:10-17

V 10-17 “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places]. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God”.
Apostle Paul used the armour of the ancient Roman soldier to depict God's armour. To be secured in any battle, they must put on all their armour. The helmet covers the head, the breastplate, the shield, the sandals and the sword. What are the spiritual connotations?
1) The helmet: Salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ. Always confess it.
2) The breastplate: Righteousness. Live a righteous life.
3) Loins: Live a truthful life.
4) Sandals: Preach the gospel of peace.
5) Shield: Faith to withstand every attack of the devil.
6) Sword: The word of God to create and recreate our world.
There is no provision for protection for the back. You are not expected to turn your back in the war, so never run from battles.

Prayer point: By the power of the Holy Ghost, I consciously put on the armour of God always in Jesus’ name.

Saturday 26 October
WHY DOES GOD TEST AND TRY US?
2 Timothy 2:9-13

These are some of the reasons why God tests us;
1) Pressure produces enlargement: Psalm 4:1 "God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer". David wrote this Psalm during his challenges when he fled from Absalom. Though it was his undoing that brought the challenge, God used the period to make him a better person. I have been in some very unpleasant situations in my life because I learnt my lessons, and I vowed it would never happen again.
2) Trials prove and humble us: Deuteronomy 8:2-3 "And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments or no. And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live”.
3) Affliction separates the Chosen from the Called: Isaiah 48:10 “Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction”. To cross from Called to Chosen, you must persevere.
4) Suffering teaches obedience: Hebrews 5:8 about Jesus; “Though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him”.
5) Suffering can increase God’s power in us: For God to increase power in you, your physical body must have been dealt with to some extent.
6) Trial produces perseverance and maturity: James 1:2-4 “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing”.
7) Trouble tests our faith in God's word: talking of Joseph, what looked like problems was testing Psalm 105:19; "Until the time that his word came to pass, the word of the LORD tested him".

Prayer point: Holy Spirit, help me to continue to mature in You in Jesus’ name.

Friday 25 October
WHO TEST AND TRIES US?
1 Peter 4:12-16

Who brings tests and trials into the life of the Christian? Is it God or the devil? It is popular thinking to blame the devil for any pain or suffering we experience as Christians. It was the Holy Spirit that led Jesus to be tempted of the devil, why? Because of the anointing! Jesus said in Matthew 5:10 "Blessed are those who are PERSECUTED for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven”. Mark 10:29-30 “So Jesus answered and said, Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with PERSECUTIONS and in the age to come, eternal life”.
The anointing will attract some situations that will be painful. Pains are part of the growing up process of life V 12-14 "Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ's sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part, He is blasphemed, but on your part, He is glorified". 2 Timothy 3:12 "Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution".
The first church under the leadership of the Apostles was concentrated in Jerusalem, they refused to leave their comfort zone. But the instruction of Jesus to them was to witness Him to the end of the world. God allowed persecutions to come to the church and scatter them and as they moved out of Jerusalem, they were spreading the gospel everywhere they went to fulfil the divine purpose. God’s presence is guaranteed in whatever we are going through, Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose”. 1 Corinthians 10:13 “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it”.

Prayer point: Holy Spirit help me to pass all my tests to get promoted in Jesus’ name.

Thursday 24 October
DIVINE RELOCATION
Isaiah 51:1-3

Anytime you are moving in the direction of God's plan for your life, you will be going up, no matter how rough the journey may be. And when you deviate from the divine direction, you will be going down and it will be a smooth sail. Genesis 12:7-9 "And Jehovah appeared to Abram and said, I will give this land to your seed. And he built an altar there to Jehovah who appeared to him. And he moved from there to a mountain on the east of Bethel. And he pitched his tent with Bethel toward the sea and Hai on the east. And he built an altar there to Jehovah, and called upon the name of Jehovah. And Abram journeyed, going on and pulled up stakes toward the south”.
In this scripture, the Lord appeared to Abraham and promised to give him all the land he was standing on and roundabout. However, there was a famine in the land and he journeyed away from the place God promised him. In journeying away from the divine location, he WENT DOWN, V 10 "And there was a famine in the land. And Abram WENT DOWN into Egypt to stay there, for the famine was grievous in the land”. Not that the physical topography of Egypt was low, no but in the spiritual any deviation from divine agenda in “going down”.
In going down, Abraham encountered problems to the extent he feared for his life. He did not find peace in that place. But thanks be unto God that he realized himself and he relocated back to where he was supposed to be. In relocating back to divine agenda, he started going up again, Genesis 13:1-2 "And Abram WENT UP out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, (and Lot was with him) into the south. And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver and in gold”.
One of the surest signs to know you are in divine direction is peace in your heart regardless of circumstances in the physical. In that location, do you have peace in your heart? Have you been repeatedly warned off that relationship or association and yet you didn't listen? You are convinced within yourself that that route will only end in sorrow or that nothing will come out of that venture, why not retrace your step and come back to God?

Prayer point: Father help me to always remain focused on You in Jesus’ name.

Wednesday 23 October
OVERCOME THOSE TEMPTATIONS 3
Matthew 4:1-11

The third temptation: Pride of life. V 8-9 “Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; and saith unto him, all these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me”. It will no longer be a temptation if it is not true; the kingdoms of the world had been handed to the devil by Adam. The reason why Jesus came to the world was to redeem man from Satan and restore to us the glory that was lost. The devil understood Jesus' assignment on earth and offered Him a shortcut to glory. Jesus replied, V 10 "Then saith Jesus unto him, get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve”. Jesus was ready to go all the way according to God's will for Him. He chose not to go ahead of God but was obedient and willing.
In a quest to buy an ordinary car, many people have ruined their destinies. Many young folks with good potential find a shortcut to riches by marrying the wrong people just because they are from rich families. Jesus said in Matthew 6:33 "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you". Do not lust or pursue worldly things. Why must you end your destiny at the house of Potiphar when a throne is reserved for you? Do not mortgage the anointing upon you on the laps of Delilah, you have a great destiny to fulfil. Let not anything be so important to you than pleasing God always through the Holy Spirit in you.

Prayer point: Holy Spirit help me to always obey You at all times.

Monday 21 October
OVERCOME THOSE TEMPTATIONS 1
Matthew 4:1-11

There are certain hurdles to scale to move into the higher realm of power in the Holy Spirit which is exclusively reserved for a few people. Many people desire it but just a few people enter into this realm, and even among the few, it is in different levels of authority or command.
After Jesus was anointed, the Spirit led Him into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. Know for sure that after the anointing has fallen on you, you will face your period of wilderness experience too and as you move into newer realms of anointing, it comes with a newer level of the wilderness experience. You cannot pray this period away unless you don't want to grow because it is the Holy Spirit that will lead you to the devil to be tried, but as He was with Jesus throughout His periods, He will also be with you.
The devil brought temptation to Jesus in three principal ways that he tempts mankind; 1 John 2:16 “For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world”; Gratifying the desire of the flesh, Presumption against God and Pride of life!
The first temptation: Gratifying the desire of the flesh. V 3 "Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread". There was no controversy about whether Jesus was the Son of God, same as your case, but the devil will try to force it on you that, why are there some deficiencies in your life if truly you are a child of God? With your anointing, there will be a temporal period of hunger in your life! It may not be physical hunger like that of Jesus but some lack. This is where many people fail and begin to commercialize their anointing or begin to help themselves in other to get their desired result. On their way to the temple to pray, Peter and John didn't have money but they had the power to heal a man born lame. Paul who prayed and raised the dead had his moments of diverse challenges that he even said "Indeed, we felt within ourselves that we had received the [very] sentence of death, but that was to keep us from trusting in and depending on ourselves instead of on God Who raises the dead", 2 Corinthians 1:9 AMP. In those periods of lack, you must learn to say like Jesus "I shall not live by satisfying this lack alone"!

Prayer point: Holy Spirit strengthen me to always overcome temptations in Jesus’ name.

Sunday 20 October
TERRITORIAL SPIRITS 2
Daniel 10:1-14

According to our text, Daniel petitioned Heaven over an issue and his answer was dispatched to him immediately but unfortunately, his answer was delayed for twenty-one days by the principality of that region. Until another angel was dispatched from heaven, the answer could have still been delayed further. Many of the prayers we thought were not answered were actually answered by God but delayed by territorial powers. Apostle Paul reiterated this too, in 1 Corinthians 16:9 "For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries”; 1 Thessalonians 2:18 “Therefore we wanted to come to you even I, Paul, time and again but Satan hindered us”.
We must not be ignorant of these territorial demons nor take their power of influence for granted. Aside from that location having territorial spirits, some families are under the yoke of some terrible spirits too. The fact you don't know doesn't deny their existence. With this insight, if you notice any irregularity in your family, you know what to do. Some places are under heavy demonic cast covering! For you or your business to prosper in such a place, you must first bind the demon before destroying those coverings.
This is one of the principal reasons for the anointing of the Holy Spirit; Divine empowerment! Acts 1:8 “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth". To witness here is not literary preaching but taking territories for Christ by first dislodging territorial demons and enthroning the Spirit of God. I know of a church campground where evil birds don't fly across their entire land space. Once they mistakenly do, they will drop down and die. In aviation, there are places called a no-flight zone, you can declare a no-flight zone for territorial demons over your life too.

Prayer point: I arrest by fire territorial demons over my family and location (including my business) in Jesus’ name.

Saturday 19 October
TERRITORIAL SPIRITS 1
Mark 6:1-6

Apostle Paul through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit revealed the hierarchical powers in the demonic world, Ephesians 6:12 “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places". Their sphere of operation is revealed in their ranking. For the purpose of our prayer, we shall focus on territorial powers. I have personally observed that cooperate prayers answer more in some locations than others, for example, I see more results on prayer mountains than in regular prayer gatherings. The answer is not farfetched; the predominant spirit in operation in that location is a good one. There are places where immorality is rife. There are places where human lives hold no value and there are places where people are anti-Christianity, just to mention a few because of the operation of wicked territorial spirits.
V 5 “Now He could do no mighty work there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them”. Jesus was hindered from helping the people because of the cooperate unbelief in that location which was influenced by the territorial powers there. When He wanted to exorcise the Legion from the man of Gadarenes, the demons begged not to be sent out of that region because that was their location of influence, Mark 5:9-10 “Then He asked him, what is your name? And he answered, saying, my name is Legion; for we are many. Also he begged Him earnestly that He would not send them out of the country”.
The antidote to the negative influence of territorial powers is to first expose them and their activities, V 6 "And He marvelled because of their unbelief. Then He went about the villages in a circuit, teaching”. After people have been taught out of unbelief, then we must bind the demons in the name of Jesus and cancel all their works, Matthew 18:18-19 “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven”. Before you can do anything meaningful in any location, you must take authority first in the spirit realm. Dethrone all demonic powers there and take charge by the power of the Holy Ghost.

Prayer point: By the power of the Holy Ghost, I take charge here in Jesus’ name.

DIVINE SPEED
1 Kings 18:41-46

Have you dreamt that you were running in slow motion? Have you carefully observed to see you are lagging in life? Today's word is for you.
V 41-46 “And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for [there is] a sound of abundance of rain. So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees, and said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, [There is] nothing. And he said, Go again seven times. And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man's hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare [thy chariot], and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not. And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel. And the hand of the LORD was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel”.
After the Lord wrought a great revival through Elijah, the promise of rain which would end the drought came. At first, when Elijah prayed, nothing happened. James 5:16b "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much”. Eventually, the rain came. King Ahab rode his chariot ahead of Elijah but when the hand of the Lord came upon Elijah, he outran the king's chariot. The hand of the Lord made the difference!
When the hand of the Lord come upon you, the journey that took others several years, you can achieve them in a matter of months. Whatever that has been responsible for your life's slow motion, the hand of the Lord shall remove today in the name of Jesus.

Prayer point: Father Lord, please let Your come upon me and grant me divine speed in Jesus’ name.

Thursday 17 October
GENERATIONAL DEBT
1 Kings 21:27-29

As one man's obedience heralds generational blessing, another man's disobedience brings eternal debt to his generations. Many people are under inherited debts. And the unfortunate aspect is many are not even aware except the Holy Spirit reveals it to them. Ahab sinned and God judged him. But before the judgement was executed, he repented genuinely. Due to his repentance, God delayed the ex*****on of judgement till the time of his children.
V 27-29 “And it came to pass, when Ahab heard those words, that he rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth, and went softly. And the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying, Seest thou how Ahab humbleth himself before me? because he humbleth himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days: [but] in his son's days will I bring the evil upon his house”.
After King Hezekiah was miraculously healed when he prayed to God, he acted foolishly and the Lord pronounced judgment on him. The same man who prayed and God added fifteen years to his life could not ask for mercy from God because he saw the judgement wouldn't come during his time. Isaiah 39:7-8 "And some of your sons, who are born to you, shall be taken away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the King of Babylon. Then said Hezekiah to Isaiah, "The word of the Lord which you have spoken is good." For he thought, "There will be peace and security in my days". RSV. 2 Kings 20:19 “Then said Hezekiah unto Isaiah, Good [is] the word of the LORD which thou hast spoken. And he said, [Is it] not [good], if peace and truth be in my days?”
As an individual, be careful to do what is right always. Do not leave debts whether spiritual or physical for incoming generations. Rather, leave blessings for them. Also, if there is any debt past generations have left behind for your generation, cancel it with the blood of Jesus.

Prayer point: By the blood of Jesus, I cancel all generational debts in my family in Jesus' name.
