APC thugs invade polling units in Southern Ijaw, Sagbama, hijack materials

Armed thugs belonging to the All Progressive Congress (APC) have invaded polling units in Sagbama local Government area with heavy gun shots and hijack of elections materials.

At about 9 am at Agorogbene, unit 6, 7 and 8 in Ward 11 of the Local Government, suspected thugs from Southern Ijaw and allegedly escorted by a chieftain of the APC identified as Pastor Reuben Wilson, chased away voters and destroy election materials.

Attempts by the electorate to challenge the armed men were replied with heavy gun shots.

Also around 9am, the armed thugs stormed the RAC center and carted away election materials for five out of the Seven units.

The APC ward 11 Chairman was alleged to have led the armed thugs.

At Ogiadiama ward 9 in Unit 14 of Southern Ijaw Local Government area, gunmen stormed the unit but were repelled after asn emergency call to security men.

Sporadic gunshots were also reported to have been heared around the Abuja/Imbikiri area of Brass ward 2 and at about 3.30am on Saturday , gunmen suspected to be APC members attacked the RAC centere in Oginibiri in Brass Ward 8. But they were resisted.

At Famgbe in Yenagoa local Government, APC thugs were engaged in gun duel with security agents, with some recorded casualties.

Information reaching us indicates that the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, is in a desperate move to compromise the Governorship election in Bayelsa State.

Ganduje is planning to enter Bayelsa State to manipulate the system against the directive of President Bola Tinubu and the top security chiefs who have assured free, fair and peaceful poll.

Ganduje, fully aware that Mr. President is out of the country is possibly acting a personal script to undermine the President's directive.

The Bayelsa's electorate are worried because of Ganduje's antecedents and any attempt to thwart the will of the people would be vehemently resisted.

PDP Wins Overwhelming Majority Seats In Bayelsa House of Assembly

The People's Democratic Party, has won 17 out of the 23 seats declared by INEC for the Bayelsa State House of Assembly.

This wins clearly put the party in comfortable position in Bayelsa State ahead of future elections.

Electorate accuse APC, INEC of result manipulations in Nembe 2&3, calls for cancellation

Hundreds of electorate from the Nembe constituencies 2 and 3 in Nembe Local Government Area of Bayelsa state have rejected the declaration of APC's State House of Assembly candidates as winners in the two places.

They are protesting alleged disenfranchisement by hired thugs suspected to be loyal to the All Progressive Congress (APC), demanding that the result announced can not stand and should be cancelled.

The aggrieved electorate, described themselves as those who have been accredited by INEC staff at various polling units across the Wards, and said while voting was ongoing in many polling units, armed thugs identified as APC members ,chased everyone out and took away the BVAS and electoral materials.

In some of the polling units, the suspected thugs forcefully took the INEC's ad-hoc staff along with them to help them manipulate the results.

They also accused the APC of voters intimidation, attack of indigenes, threat to life and attack on any indigenes known not to support their political parties.

One of the aggrieved electorate, Hon. Gilbert, said they were shocked that INEC made declarations when in fact many people of the 2 constituencies were still hopeful of casting their ballot.

They vowed to work hard to ensure those 'cooked' results announced by intimidated INEC officials do not stand.
