We the members of the Association of Izhi Nnodo Media Workers happily salute the Governor of Ebonyi State, Right Honourable Francis Nwifuru on his recent appointment of our National Publicity Secretary, Dr. Boniface Nwankwo as his Special Assistant on Documentation.

While we congratulate Dr. Boniface Nwankwo on his successful swearing in, we applaud His Excellency for the choice of our prized jewel for the assignment.

We however assure His Excellency that he made the right choice in hiring Dr. Boniface as he has all it takes to deliver on his mandate with aplomb.

We therefore pledge our unflinching solidarity and support at all times to His Excellency the Governor.

On-behalf of our noble members across the Nation, we most profoundly congratulate the illustrious son of Izhi Nnodo Ekumenyi, Right Honourable Francis Nwifuru, FNIOB, F**A, GCEHF on his successful inauguration as the 4th Executive Governor of Ebonyi State.

Your Excellency Sir, we salute your sagacious disposition which ensured that you weathered all storms in the build up to your election to finally take the mantle of leadership as the 4th democratically elected helmsman.

The Association is particularly enthused by the record you have set in the political evolution of our dear State by being the first two-term Speaker to be elected Governor.

We are also profusely elated that through you, power has finally returned to youths full of vigour and exuberant vitality needed for the continued transformation of our dear State.

The Association of Izhi Nnodo Media Workers is pleased to congratulate our brother, Right Honourable Francis Nwifuru on his audacious victory as the Governor-elect of Ebonyi State in the just concluded Guber poll.

Your victory, a very resounding one, is a manifestation of the hand of God in your aspiration.

By the victory, Ebonyians have voted in one accord for the consolidation and continuity of the Divine Mandate administration in the State.

Through the landslide victory, the good people of the State have demonstrated unequaled belief in equity, justice and fairness in the governance of the State.

While we congratulate you on this iconic milestone, we urge you to be magnanimous in victory by extending hands of fellowship to your challengers in the election.

FON IS OUR CHOICE

The Association of Izhi Nnodo Media Workers, the umbrella body uniting all Media Workers of Izhi extraction plying their trade both within and outside Nigeria after proper analysis of the political trends especially in Ebonyi State hereby issues the following far-reaching statements:

1. That we commend highly, His Excellency, Engineer David Nweze Umahi for working assiduously to transform all the critical sectors of Ebonyi State within just eight years on the saddle.

2. That we salute His Excellency the Governor for his believe in equity, justice and fairness in the choice of his successor come March 11, 2023.

3. That we congratulate all sons of Izhi Nnodo who are vying for the number one seat in Ebonyi State under the various political parties for their patriotism.

4. That after thorough examination of the character, pedigree, temperament and antecedents of all Candidates, the Association of Izhi Nnodo Media Workers have unanimously chosen to stand with Right Honourable Francis Nwifuru who had been so endorsed by the Traditional Rulers, custodians of our customs and traditions.

5. That we encourage other Candidates of Izhi extraction to drop their ambition and rally round Right Honourable Francis Nwifuru in obedience to the yearnings of our Traditional Institution.

6. That all sons and daughters of Izhi Nnodo Clan and indeed all lovers of equity, justice, fairness and good governance should in their numbers cast their votes for APC and Right Honourable Francis Nwifuru on the 11th day of March 2023 to enable him scale up the pace of development in our fledgling salt of the Nation.

ASSOCIATION OF IZHI MEDIA WORKERS CONDEMNS ILLICIT TRAFFICKING OF IZHI SON FOR ALLEGED ORGAN HARVESTING.

The Association of Izhi Media Workers has described as egregious the alleged trafficking of an Izhi son, Master David Ukpo Nwamini by former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu for organ harvesting in United Kingdom.

The Association made the condemnation in a statement by the Public Relations Officer Comrade Boniface Nwankwo which was made available to newsmen in Abakaliki on Saturday.

The statement which described the wanton machination of using the kidney of an Izhi boy to save the life of the daughter of the former DSP under a very pretensious manner and at the detriment of the former as an act of inhumanity, urged the London Police to disregard every distractions and bring the perpetrators to book.

"It has come to our knowledge that the 15-year old boy David Nwamini Ukpo trafficked by Ike Ekweremadu for organ harvesting in United Kingdom is an Izhi citizen.

"The attempt to obtain his kidney by pretence for the purpose of saving the life of the daughter of the former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu is a typical show of man's inhumanity to man and it is definitely a sacrilegious way of being an elder statesman."

The Association of Izhi Media Workers urged the good people of Izhi clan and Ebonyi State in general to remain calm while the London Police and the Court dispense justice on the matter.

"We therefore urge the proactive London Police not to compromise to fraudulent overtures but insist on ensuring that all concerned are disciplined according to the Law as the World is watching keenly to know how it would handle this issue bothering on life of the poor and less privileged.

IZHI MEDIA VOTER SENSITIZATION

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has commenced the last lap of voter registration for next year's general elections.

Consequent upon the above, all parents and children in Izhi Nnodo Ekumenyi Clan who are up to the age of 18 and above are enjoined to avail themselves of the ongoing exercise to register, replace their damaged, lost or defaced PVCs and as well transfer same to their resident polling units to enable them exercise their right of franchise in next year's general elections.

Parents are urged to note that henceforth access to political appointments, Medical Services, enrollment of children and dependants in public Institutions like schools and even markets would depend on possession of valid PVCs.

This has become expedient as INEC has assured citizens that their votes would count in 2023.

All concerned are advised to make haste and register as the offer lasts.

Please inform your next door neighbour of this all important exercise.
