Cliche it, love it or leave it, Governor A.A Sule is a civil servant loving governor!!

The question "What would you be remembered for" has been asked very so often that it has become somewhat of a cliche. Fortunately, according to Mr Femi Adesina, "fact are stubborn thing." So whether a piece of truth becomes a culture or a cliche, truth will continue to be truth.

Nasarawa state civil servant waked up the faithful day of 15 June 2021 with a breakfast information emenating from the Nigeria labour Congress declaring an indefinite strike across the state.

The declaration which came as a surprise that remorse his Excellency for immediate interface with the labour Union presenting numerous demands before the government.
Among the notable demands presented before him, he graciously approved and promise an immediate implementation of the agreement signed upon.

Unlike his counterpart state governor's of kaduna, Niger and Oyo that where busy retreaching workers from left to right and center all in the name of unavailable resources to settle their workers, ours in Nasarawa state have employe and even working on modalities to still absorb more graduates into the state civil service in few times to come.

Undoubtedly, since the inception of A.A sule administration workers salary, pension and gratiuty have been fluently and constantly settle every months without any hindrance.
There long waited promotion also will take effect from next month by God grace as promised by the government.
Those entitled to last tranche August 2016 salary arrears have been paid within the week.

Indeed, it takes a good man with a golden heart to stood by his words and fulfilled his promise.

THE CONSTITUTION OF POLITICAL PARTIES and THE CONSTITUTION OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC

Which Supercedes The Other?
By Elder Yusuf Shehu Usman, Former Attorney General Nasarawa state.

On a serious note, is it not an affront to the Constitution of the Federal Republic and the rule of law for any Political party to sanction it's member for dragging the party to court to seek a redress of a legal wrong or even a percieved legal wrong committed against him?
Can the Constitution of any Political party deprive a member of his inalienable and constitutionally guaranteed right to approach a court for the redress of any wrong committed against him by the party, even if it boarders on a breach of Chapter Four of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria?

Is any Political party which is a creation of the Constitution above the law or spared from the application of the Constitution of the Federal Republic to it's affairs?I believe that the Constitution of every Political party must be surbodinated to the Constitution of the Federal Republic from which it derives it's existence and powers.

Therefore, the Political parties should uphold the rule of law by not extinguishing or diminishing the fundamental rights of any citizen who has been elected to join the membership of any Political party. The right to belong to any Political party is a legal right and no member of a party should be deprived from the exercise of his fundamental right against the party or it's officials.

It is not and should not be considered as an anti party activity for any member to challenge the action of a political party he belongs to in the court of law.
That's why the courts are created under the Constitution.

*WHY THE INVESTMENT IN NASARAWA STATE?*

World over, the very first prerequisite to consider for investors to invest in a certain location or state is peace. This is because there can never be any meaningful development or investment in an atmosphere of rancour.

It's an undeniable facts that government policies and certain bureaucratic bottlenecks could easily be reason for certain setbacks capable of scaring away investors. But in a situation where by investors are willingly lobbying for investments in a particular state then it calls for why! and the WHY's in these contexts are not far fetch.

In Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, we found a Governor highly experienced with the nitty gritty of the private sectors both local, national and international. Here is a Governor that his body language alone can be interpreted by someone on first encounter. A man that's undoubtedly known to be upright and too sincere to a fault, hiis quest for speedy but systematic industrialization of the state is second to non.

You can trade on anything so long as it's not to the detriment of Nasarawa state. His administration policies and programmes speaks volume on the passion, zeal, drive and political will to place Nasarawa state on the map of fast growing industrialized states in Nigeria and beyond. Little wonder why since taken over the mantle of leadership in 2019, set machinery in place to ensure that Nasarawa must remain peaceful against all odds.

His policy thrusts which is centred on the mantra of "Exceeding all Expectations" is indeed yielding positive results. Within the shortest timeframe, the state had witnessed and is still witnessing unprecedented developments cut across nooks and cranies of the state.

A walk down opposite PDP Secretariat which harbours the LAFIA CITY MALL, a gigantic edifice built on a large area of land situated in the heart of the state capital will convince you that there's more to A. A Sule's police thrust and readiness to governance than meet the eyes.

As we witness the official commissioning of the edifice which is the talk of town, we must give credit to the people's Governor, Engr. A. A. Sule without been bias, for pursuing his Nasarawa Economic Development Strategy (NEDS) through partnership and collaboration birthed with underground policies for ease of doing business in Nasarawa state.

Let it be said, Engr. A. A. Sule has continued to blaze the trail towards ensuring that youths must be engaged meaningfully.
We are hopeful and confident that Engr. A. A. Sule will no doubt leave Nasarawa State better and more industrialized than he met it.

Let's think Nasarawa State
Let's think Engr. A. A. Sule
Let's think investment &
Let's think development.

In our collective and sincere efforts, prayers, solidarity, commitment, love and best for Nasarawa, we shall exceeds all expectations Insha Allah.......

Sugar development council wants Nasarawa to lead other sugar producing states

The National Sugar Development Council (NSDC), has selected Nasarawa State to lead other sugar producing states in the country.

Executive Secretary of the NSDC, Zack Adedeji, made this known when he paid a courtesy call on Nasarawa State governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, at the Government House, on Thursday.

While lauding the sugar production efforts of the Nasarawa State government, particularly the amicable settlement of agricultural land issues, the NSDC executive secretary, tasked Engineer Sule on coordinating activities of sugar producing states, with a view to ensuring the success of the backward integration policy of the Federal Government in the sugar industry.

According to him, the policy, when fully implemented, will help towards tackling problems of insecurity and unemployment, stressing that, the model applied by the Nasarawa State government should be replicated as a means of ensuring amicable settlement of land issues across other similar states.

Responding, Nasarawa State governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, identified investments in the sugar industry as key to socio-economic rejuvenation in the country.

Engineer Sule restated his commitment towards making sure that Nasarawa State leads other states in the area of agriculture, particularly in sugar production, adding that, agriculture remains a viable tool for lifting millions of Nigerians out of poverty.

The governor emphasized that, he takes the task before as a national assignment, especially that it's in line with President Muhammadu Buhari's desire to take one hundred million Nigerians out of poverty.

With the Dangote Sugar Refinery taking up 60, 000 hectares of land in Awe Local Government Area and recently, the Nigeria Flour Mills Nigeria Plc, also acquiring over 20, 000 hectares in Toto Local Government Area, both for the production of sugar, Nasarawa State is poised to lead other states in the production of sugar and for ensuring the success of the backward integration policy of the Federal Government.

9. The State Caretaker Chairman, All Progressives

10. Permanent Secretaries;
11. His Royal Highness, Hon. Justice Sidi Bage
Muhammad I JSC (Rtd) Emir of Lafia and
Chairman, Nasarawa State Council of Chiefs;
12. The Chairman, Nasarawa State Independent Electoral
Commission and other Commissioners of the
Commission;
13. Chairmen and Chief Executives of Commissions,
Boards and Parastatals;
14. The Directors of Personnel Management of Local
Government Councils and Development Areas;
15. Your Royal Highnesses, other Emirs and Chiefs
present;
16. Gentlemen of the Press;
17. Ladies and Gentlemen.

It is with a sense of responsibility that I address you today on the occasion of the presentation of the
NASIEC Regulations, 2021, organized by the Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission in preparation of the October 6th Local Government Council Elections in the State.

2. You would recall that during the inauguration of the Chairman and a Member of the State Electoral Commission, I charged the
Commission to put machinery in place for the smooth conduct of free, fair and credible elections into elective offices in our Local Government Councils, being the 3rd tier of Government in the country. The call was anchored on our resolve to enhance the frontiers of representation through the entrenchment of the rule of law and the creation of enabling environment for the survival of democracy in the State.

3. I have no doubt that this mandate of Government was instrumental to the Nasarawa state Independent Electoral Commission to
initiate the necessary process and subsequent release of election timetable. This followed the
expiration of the tenure of the immediate past Local Government Council Chairmen and Councilors in tandem with constitutional provision and to also avoid creating a vacuum in the leadership of the councils for a long time.Considering the imperative of conducting a seamless Local Government Council election,
Government decided to oblige the logistics requirement put forward by the Commission.

4. I belief that the presentation of the NASIECRegulations, 2021 today is in furtherance of the Commission’s determination to ensure the conduct of a credible election in line with the
global best practice. This ground normdocument will regulate the conduct of election,operations and other internal mechanism
necessary for the enhancement of the independence of the Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission. I am also
aware that the NASIEC Regulations, 2021 contains an organized structure of the Commission, which will pave way for efficient and effective service delivery.

5. I must commend the Commission for being one of the few States in Nigeria to come up with this
internal regulatory mechanism that will ensure the smooth functioning of the electoral umpirein the State. I, therefore, charge the Commission to live above board by abiding strictly to its regulation in order to exercise its
independence and earn the confidence of all and sundry. As an electoral body, the Commission must exercise neutrality and objectivity in the conduct of its statutory mandate. The Commission must not align itself with any political party, candidate or interest no matter the odds in the forthcoming and subsequent elections.

6. It should be noted that in approving this unique Regulations, Government took into cognizance, the onerous responsibilities of the Electoral Umpire and ensured that it did not conflict with the powers conferred on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by the 1999 Constitution (as amended)and the provision of the electoral law.

7. Before concluding this address, let me take the opportunity of this event to appeal to political parties, candidates and their sponsors to be
law abiding during electioneering campaignsand throughout the election period and emergence of winners of the election. As we all know, politics is not a do or die affair and in every contest, winners must emerge. In essence, you should imbibe the culture of managing the joy of victory and agony of defeat.

8. In the same vein, let me specially call on our people, the electorates to ensure that only credible, competent, tested, transparent and accountable people are elected into the offices of the Chairman and Councilors of Local Government Councils. This is the only way we can achieve our collective desire of transforming the Local Government system to
play its role of galvanizing development at the grassroots.

9. Finally, let me once again assure the Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission of our readiness to continue to encourage and support its activities in order to flourish our democratic tradition.

10. On this note, it is my pleasure to unveil the NASIEC Regulations, 2021.

11. Thank you and may God bless us all.
