IRRESPONSIBLE GUARDIAN vs BOOKWORKSHOP SCHOOL'S NO-NONSENSE PRINCIPAL !
SO WE STILL HAVE SCHOOLS IN LAGOS STATE THAT DO NOT TOLERATE INDISCIPLINE.
(We have no regrets calling the lady in question an irresponsible guardian because you addressed an adult (a school principal) as the dumbest principal)
PLEASE NOTE THAT here on this page , this case will be analysed without any iota of sentiment and emotions will be put aside.
Let's start from this angle, a school remains a school and will remain to be an educational institution anywhere in the world having rules and regulations that guides all staffs and pupils/students irrespective of your background, position and qualifications. The rule binds everyone under the umbrella of the school. NO ONE IS ABOVE THE RULES OF A SCHOOL provided you accepted their admission when registering your child/ward.
On any account of violating school rules, you can address the school management/authority for a briefing on reasons why you crossed bounds which I believe the School management will consider under preferential treatment policies.
In relation to the matter on ground,your ward in question happens to be a perpetual late comer and series of warnings have been forwarded to the guardian but to no avail. On rare occasions when the guardian responded, she used vulgar and harsh statement in replying. That's very very wrong.
Now, the student in question was sent back home hence denied access into the school premises due to the repeated violation of the school rule. Being the guardian, you came violently with a planned agenda to cause chaos in the school premises. Reports shows that on arrival to the school premises, you were offered a seat by the front desk officer but harshly responded that you weren't here for that. Meaning you had an agenda of creating a nasty/silly scene in the school premises. We put it to you that you only wanted to create a problem where there was no problem. Disturbing the peace of an educational institution thereby distracting learners in their respective classes was very wrong and uncalled for. More reason why you brought out your phone to do a video coverage to tarnish the image of the school for you to gain followers and grow your audience as a skit maker.
You claim that your ward's safety wasn't put into consideration. Now, from the onset your ward has been the one coming to school all along TO and FRO (yes or no). Why is that now that your ward was denied access thereby making her go home that you feel she might be kidnapped or knocked down by a vehicle. That's a high level of pessimism on the guardian's part.
Even from the days of our fathers, schools send defaulters home with exceptions to toddlers or infants which of cause couldn't have come to school on their own.
Do you know that doing a video coverage of someone or a location without seeking consent is by law WRONG yet you were screaming aloud that you have every right to do a video coverage of anyone or any place. That's a violation of the law incase you don't know.
Investigations show that there are points buttressing to the reason why your ward happens to a perpetual late comer ;
1. Your ward found picking and dropping the guardian's child from school on a daily basis.
2. Engaging the student in question in skit making thereby consuming the precious and productive time of the student.
Moving forward, manner of approach is key in human relation. Your choice of words while engaging with the principal was profoundly offensive, where were you morals? You publicly called the principal of a school "the dumbest principal ever". That alone shows that you lack manners, morals and respect for adults/elders.
Gen-Z generation of parents/guardians are doing alot of havoc in proper child/ward upbringing thereby breeding ill mannered and uncultured children. Must all issues be broadcasted on social media platforms if not the mentality of this indomie generation.
More also, from the video you stated that you would slap the principal if he comes close. The principal in question we believe wanted to stop you from making a deceitful video of the school. Oh because you are a woman you feel you can slap a man, a father, someone's husband and you will get away with it.
We see no reason why you shouldn't be sued by the school for your offensive acts.
Nevertheless, every School should ensure the safety of their children.
Let me bring to your notice that the guardian gave a degrading speech by calling the TEACHERS useless who collects a peanut of N40,000. THAT is a heavy slap to all teachers/educators and to the government. Teachers are to be respected and honoured anywhere in the world regardless of their age, status or position. Association of teachers should sue you for such a degrading speech.
In conclusion, it is unwise for any right thinking individual to judge matters without hearing from both parties involved. Majority of individuals passing out their judgement.
Majority of people are only speaking based on the videos uploaded without getting the other side of the story from the school. Hence, we advice that the right authorities should consult the school for full details before any final conclusions.
