Distinguished Lagosians making impact in politics, governance, business, faith and creative sectors have been unveiled as The Eko Best 11 at 2025 edition of Eko Mi Awards held at Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja on Thursday June 19.
The event organised by Eko Mi Eko e Magazine being published by Image Impressions Nigeria and UK attract political office holders, celebrities and socialites to honoring eleven individuals drawn poll of high class nominees.
The Awardees include Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Olabode Agoro, Oba Ademola Elegushi, Hon David Odunmbaku, Hon James Faleke, Tokunbo Ajanaku, Seuna Osiyemi, T**e-Benson Awoyinka, Folashade Okoya, Architect Gbolahan Oki and Tokunbo Wahab.
Each recipient received a plaque, a customized jersey with their number, and a gleaming medal, creating a fun and symbolic connection to Lagos as a team powered by its best players.

Speaking at the event, the Managing Director Image Impressions, Otunba Bestman Nze-Jumbo said the awards aimed at recognising excellence performance and immense contributions of different personalities towards the development of Lagos State.
According to Bestman, picking Eko Best 11 was difficult task for the organisers but we cannot recognise everyone. We acknowledge the unwavering commitment of various individuals to the development of Lagos.
Eko Best 11 Awardees
Tokunbo Philip Wahab: Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources in Lagos State – Known for initiating a €120 million waste-to-energy partnership with the Netherlands and previously reforming the state’s tertiary education landscape.
Architect Gbolahan Owodunni Oki: General Manager of the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) – Honoured for his firm crackdown on unsafe and illegal structures, improving urban safety and compliance across the state.
Folashade Nimota Okoya: Managing Director of Eleganza Industrial City – A leading force in manufacturing, she has supported youth development through sports and education, while continuing her legacy as a business icon.

T**e Benson-Awoyinka: Special Adviser to the Governor on Housing – Credited for driving investment into affordable housing, she also spearheaded reforms in land administration, promoting transparency and investor confidence.
Hon. James Abiodun Faleke: Member of the House of Representatives, representing Ikeja Federal Constituency – Acknowledged for visible constituency development projects and policy contributions that directly impact Lagosians.
