THE ONLY PLACE OF PEACE
(The Spring of Life and Other Poems
In this fragile body of flesh we dwell,
In a world of struggles, crisis, and afflictions,
Where vanity and emptiness do tell,
That true peace lies beyond our own convictions!
In a world filled with chaos and unrest,
Where peace seems elusive, a distant quest,
Christ stands as the beacon, the guiding light,
Leading us to a place where all is made right!
In the struggles of life, we often find,
We're burdened and weary, body and mind,
But in Christ, there's a refuge, a sweet release,
A place of tranquility, where worries cease!
We labor and are burdened, heavy-laden,
No rest of mind until we come to Christ,
In Him alone, our weary souls find haven,
He brings peace in place of our toil and strife!
Trials and tribulations cause us to fear,
Worries deep within our hearts reside,
But in Christ's words, assurance we hold dear,
In Him, we find the peace that won't subside!
Religious founders burden us with yet heavier loads,
Like the Scribes and Pharisees of old,
But outside their camp, true peace and joy unfold,
In Christ's loving presence, our hearts are consoled!
Our life on earth is as ephemeral as the beauty of a sunrise,
Disappearing as quickly as it appears,
But in Him, our souls find rest and arise,
As we embrace the truth that frees us from our fears!
Our days here are indeed fleeting, passing by,
Ill-health and death give us concern, so our worries are rife,
Yet in Christ, we find solace and rely,
On His promise of everlasting life!
As loved ones depart, leaving us behind,
We're reminded of life's brevity and pain,
But in Christ, true meaning we shall find,
His peace and rest forever shall sustain!
When our partners pass on, our hearts deeply grieve,
The emptiness we feel, hard to conceive,
But in Christ, there's a solace, a divine embrace,
Assurance that they rest in His loving grace!
For in Him, we find the truth that sets us free,
From fears that haunt our every waking hour,
And in His presence, we shall forever be,
Filled with abundant life in His eternal power!
So let us come to Christ, the only place of peace,
Where we find overflowing joy in His eternal grace,
In His arms, our weary souls find sweet release,
And in His presence, we have a permanent resting place!
