A distinguished legal practitioner, development advocate, and Islamic finance expert, Mrs. Ummahani has made outstanding contributions to ethical finance and inclusive legal reform across Nigeria and Africa.

As the Managing Partner of Metropolitan Law Firm and the Founder and CEO of Metropolitan Skills Limited, she has dedicated over two decades to building institutional capacity, supporting non-interest financial systems, and shaping corporate governance structures.

Her career is marked by numerous leadership accomplishments:

1. Strategic Board Leadership: Mrs. Ummahani serves on the boards of prominent organizations such as the Nigerian Exchange Group, Salam Takaful Insurance, Radix Pension Managers, and One17 Capital, where she contributes her deep expertise in corporate law and Islamic finance.

2. Thought Leadership: She is the Convener of the African International Conference on Islamic Finance (AICIF), a pan-African platform that fosters high-level discourse, policy advancement, and collaboration within the Islamic finance ecosystem.

3. Institutional Reform: With a strong background in public-private partnerships (PPP), she has advised on major legal and financial reforms and champions innovative, Shariah-compliant solutions aligned with global standards.

4. Community Impact: As a trustee of The Metropolitan Waqf, she supports access to formal education in Northern Nigeria, demonstrating her commitment to equitable social development.

Mrs. Ummahani holds LL.B and LL.M degrees from Bayero University Kano and is a certified PPP specialist with expertise that spans legal, financial, and development sectors.

Her unwavering dedication to non-interest finance, ethical governance, and youth empowerment continues to inspire professionals across Africa and beyond.
