SERMON TOPIC:

WHY DOESN'T JESUS FIX THIS PROBLEM?

A Question Many Christians Are Afraid to Ask

Have you ever cried, "Lord, if You love me, why haven't You fixed this problem?"
Why is the sickness still there? Why is the marriage still struggling? Why is the financial hardship continuing? Why are the prayers not yet answered?
Many faithful believers have silently wrestled with these questions. Even great men and women of faith have wondered why God seems silent in the middle of their pain.
The good news is this: Jesus is not offended by honest questions. Instead, He invites us to trust Him even when we do not understand His timing.
Sometimes Jesus removes the problem. Sometimes He changes us through the problem. Sometimes He delays because He is preparing something greater than we can see.

Key Bible Texts

1. John 11:1–44 — Lazarus
Jesus knew Lazarus was sick, yet He delayed His visit.
> "This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God..." (John 11:4)
When Jesus finally arrived, Lazarus had already been in the tomb for four days.
Mary and Martha both asked:
> "Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died."

Yet Jesus raised Lazarus, proving that God's delays are not God's denials.
2. 2 Corinthians 12:7–10
Paul prayed three times for his "thorn in the flesh" to be removed.
Instead of removing it, Jesus answered:
> "My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness."
Sometimes Jesus fixes the situation.
Sometimes He gives grace to overcome it.
3. Mark 4:35–41
Jesus was asleep during the storm.
The disciples thought He did not care.
Yet He was in the boat all along.
His presence was greater than the storm.
1. Sometimes Jesus Is Working Behind the Scenes
We judge by what we see.
Jesus works from eternity.
While we panic, He prepares.
Joseph spent years in prison before becoming Prime Minister of Egypt.
Those prison years were not wasted.
God was preparing him for leadership.

Lesson:
Just because Jesus seems silent does not mean He is absent.
2. Some Problems Develop Our Character
Faith grows through pressure.
Gold is refined by fire.
Diamonds are formed under pressure.
James 1:2–4 teaches that trials produce perseverance and maturity.
Without trials:
Faith remains shallow.
Character remains weak.
Spiritual growth remains limited.
Sometimes Jesus loves us too much to remove every challenge immediately.
3. Some Problems Reveal God's Glory
When Jesus healed the man born blind, His disciples asked:
> "Who sinned?"
Jesus replied:
> "Neither... but that the works of God should be made manifest."
(John 9:3)
Not every suffering is punishment.
Some battles become platforms for God's power.
Your testimony tomorrow may come from today's tears.
4. Jesus Has Already Solved Humanity's Greatest Problem
We often focus on temporary problems.
Jesus focused first on the eternal problem—sin.
Through His death and resurrection:
We received forgiveness.
We received eternal life.
We received reconciliation with God.
The greatest miracle is not merely physical healing.
The greatest miracle is salvation.
Every other miracle points to Christ, but salvation secures eternity.

Biblical Example:

Martha and Mary

Mary and Martha expected Jesus to come immediately.
Instead, He arrived after Lazarus had died.
What looked like failure became one of the greatest miracles recorded in Scripture.
Sometimes what appears to be God's delay is actually God's stage for a greater revelation of His glory.

Modern-Day Illustration

A Christian businessman lost his company after years of hard work.
He prayed for God to restore it immediately, but nothing changed.
During that difficult season, he began mentoring young entrepreneurs through his church.
Years later, those relationships led to a new business with greater impact than the first.
Looking back, he realized that what felt like a devastating loss became the path God used to expand his influence.
While not every story ends the same way, this reminds us that God can bring purpose and good out of seasons we do not understand (Romans 8:28).

Practical Action Steps

1. Keep praying even when answers seem delayed.
2. Continue obeying God's Word during difficult seasons.
3. Refuse bitterness against God.
4. Look for what God may be teaching you through the trial.
5. Encourage someone else who is facing a similar struggle.
6. Remember God's faithfulness in your past victories.
7. Place your hope in Christ, whose promises extend beyond this present life.

Deep Spiritual Insights

God's silence is not God's absence.
Delayed answers are not necessarily denied prayers.
Jesus is more interested in transforming us than merely changing our circumstances.
Sometimes the miracle is immediate.
Sometimes the miracle is the strength to endure.
Every trial is temporary, but God's purposes are eternal.

1. What problem have I been asking Jesus to fix?
2. Have I trusted God's timing or demanded my own?
3. What is God teaching me in this season?
4. Is my faith based only on answered prayers, or on who Jesus is?
5. How can my current challenge become a testimony that glorifies God?

Prayer Points

1. Lord Jesus, help me to trust Your wisdom when I do not understand Your timing.
2. Father, give me strength to remain faithful in every trial.
3. Remove every root of fear, doubt, and discouragement from my heart.
4. Turn my present struggles into testimonies that glorify Your name.
5. Grant me discernment to recognize what You are teaching me in this season.
6. Fill me with peace that surpasses understanding.
7. Let my life reveal Your power, grace, and faithfulness to those around me.
8. May I never lose confidence in Your goodness, even when my prayers are not answered as I expect.
9. Strengthen my faith until I see the fulfillment of Your promises.
10. In every circumstance, let Christ be exalted in my life.

Call to Action

If you are waiting for Jesus to fix something today, do not lose heart. The cross reminds us that God's greatest victory came through what first looked like defeat. Hold on to Christ. Continue to pray, obey, and trust Him. Whether He changes your circumstances today or gives you grace to walk through them, He remains faithful.

Remember: The question is not only, "Why doesn't Jesus fix this problem?" It is also, "How is Jesus using this problem to draw me closer to Himself and display His glory?"

MESSAGE CONCERNING THE MONTH OF AUGUST

Theme:

"Step Into Your Appointed Season with Faith and Courage"

A New Month Is More Than a Change of Calendar
Beloved, today we stand at the doorway of a new month. August is not merely another page on the calendar—it is another opportunity given by God. Many began this year but are no longer alive to witness this moment. The fact that you are entering August is evidence that God is not finished with your life.
Every new season carries new opportunities, new battles, new responsibilities, and new possibilities. The God who kept you through the previous months is able to carry you safely through this new one.
Do not enter August with fear. Enter it with faith, because the God who controls time is already waiting for you in the days ahead.

Key Bible Texts

Isaiah 43:18–19

> "Remember ye not the former things... Behold, I will do a new thing..."
God specializes in new beginnings. He is able to open doors where none existed and make a way where there seemed to be no hope.
Lamentations 3:22–23
> "It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed... They are new every morning."
Our survival is not because we are stronger than others but because God's mercy has preserved us.
Psalm 65:11
> "Thou crownest the year with thy goodness..."

God desires to surround every season of your life with His goodness and blessings.
Philippians 3:13–14
Paul reminds believers not to remain trapped by yesterday's failures or successes but to press toward God's calling.
Point 1: Leave Yesterday Behind
Many people enter a new month carrying the disappointments of the previous one.
Leave behind bitterness.
Leave behind fear.
Leave behind regret.
Leave behind unbelief.
God cannot pour fresh wine into old wineskins.
A new season requires a renewed mind.
Point 2: Expect God to Do Something New
God is never limited by your present situation.
When Israel stood before the Red Sea, it looked impossible.
When Lazarus had been dead for four days, everyone thought it was over.
When Hannah had waited many years, people assumed she would remain barren.
Yet God intervened.
Your situation may appear impossible, but impossibility is the stage upon which God demonstrates His power.
Point 3: Walk in Obedience Throughout August
Blessings follow obedience.
Many people pray for miracles but ignore God's instructions.
Abraham obeyed.
Noah obeyed.
Peter obeyed.
Their obedience positioned them for extraordinary blessings.
If God directs you to forgive, forgive.
If He directs you to serve, serve.
If He directs you to give, give.
Obedience unlocks divine favor.
Point 4: Refuse Fear and Trust God's Presence
Every new season comes with uncertainty.
But God repeatedly says:
> "Fear not."
The future is unknown to us but fully known to God.
He goes before you.
He walks beside you.
He remains behind you as your defender.
Where God leads, He also provides.

Biblical Story:

Joshua Entering the Promised Land
After Moses died, Joshua faced enormous responsibility.
God spoke to him in Joshua 1:9:
> "Be strong and of a good courage... for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest."

Joshua entered a completely new season.
The obstacles were real.
The enemies were many.
Yet God's presence guaranteed victory.
Likewise, August may present challenges, but God's presence is greater than every obstacle.

Practical Action Steps for August

Begin the month with prayer and thanksgiving.
Spend time reading God's Word every day.
Make peace with people wherever possible.
Set godly goals and pursue them diligently.
Speak words of faith instead of fear.
Remain faithful in your service to God.
Trust God's timing even when answers seem delayed.

God's timing is always perfect.

"Living Together in Love, Unity, and the Fear of God"

A Call to Wake Up

We live in a generation where families are divided, communities are polarized, churches experience unnecessary conflicts, and nations are at war. Many people desire peace, yet few are willing to pay the price to maintain it.
As Christians, we are not only called to enjoy peace—we are called to create it. Every believer should be a bridge-builder, not a divider; a healer, not a destroyer.
God's desire is that His children become instruments of peace wherever they are.
«Matthew 5:9
"Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God."»
A true child of God is recognized not only by what they believe, but also by the peace they spread.

Key Bible Texts

1. Romans 12:18
«"If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men."»
Paul teaches that while peace may not always depend entirely on us, we must do everything within our power to pursue it.
2. Hebrews 12:14
«"Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord."»
Peace and holiness go together. A heart filled with bitterness cannot enjoy close fellowship with God.
3. Psalm 133:1
«"Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!"»
Unity brings God's blessing and creates an atmosphere where His presence is experienced.
4. John 13:35
«"By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."»
Love is the foundation of peaceful coexistence and the greatest evidence of genuine discipleship.
Point 1: Peace Begins in the Heart
No one can give what they do not possess.

A heart filled with anger, envy, hatred, jealousy, and pride cannot produce peace.
Before God changes society, He changes individuals.
When Christ rules your heart, peace becomes your lifestyle.

Inner peace produces outward peace.

Peace is sustained by genuine love.
Love forgives.
Love overlooks offenses.

Forgiveness does not excuse wrongdoing; it frees your heart from bitterness.

God created diversity but desires unity.
Respect opens doors that pride can never open.

Ironically, after choosing peace, God blessed Abraham even more abundantly.

- God rewards those who pursue peace.

As you leave today, make a deliberate decision to become a peacemaker. Speak words that heal, forgive those who hurt you, and let the peace of Christ reign in your heart. Remember, where peace dwells, God's presence is welcomed, His blessings are released, and His name is glorified.
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God." (Matthew 5:9)

SERMON TOPIC:

LIVING A BALANCED LIFE

“A life that is strong in one area but broken in another is not truly successful.”

Main Texts:

Ecclesiastes 3:1; Luke 2:52; Matthew 6:33; 3 John 1:2

There is a danger in being successful in one area while failing in another.
You can be spiritually strong but physically exhausted.
You can be financially successful but relationally bankrupt.
You can be highly educated but spiritually empty.
You can be busy serving God while neglecting your family.
You can have thousands of followers online but have no meaningful relationship with the people sitting beside you.
That is why we need balance.
God did not create us to live a life where one area grows while every other area collapses.
Jesus Himself demonstrated balance. He grew spiritually, mentally, physically, and relationally.
> “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.” — Luke 2:52
Notice the balance:
Wisdom — intellectual development
Stature — physical development
Favour with God — spiritual development
Favour with man — relational development

Jesus is our perfect example of a balanced life.
1. PUT GOD FIRST, BUT DON'T NEGLECT YOUR OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Matthew 6:33
> “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Balance does not mean giving everything equal attention.
It means giving everything its proper place under God.
God must remain first.
But sometimes Christians misunderstand spirituality.
Some people think that being spiritual means neglecting their health, family, education, career, or legitimate responsibilities.
That is not biblical maturity.
Jesus prayed, but He also worked.
Jesus preached, but He also rested.
Jesus served the multitude, but He also withdrew from the crowd.
Jesus loved the church, but He also cared about individuals.
Spiritual maturity means knowing what God expects from you in every season.
You cannot spend all your time solving everybody's problems and have no time to take care of what God has entrusted to you.

Don't become so busy working for God that you forget to walk with God.
2. BALANCE YOUR SPIRITUAL LIFE WITH YOUR PHYSICAL LIFE
1 Corinthians 6:19–20
Paul teaches that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit.
Your body matters to God.
Sometimes believers pray for divine healing while deliberately abusing their health through poor habits, lack of rest, unhealthy eating, and unnecessary stress.
We should pray for our health, but we should also take responsibility for our bodies.
Elijah is an interesting biblical example.
In 1 Kings 19, Elijah had just experienced a tremendous victory on Mount Carmel.
Yet shortly afterward, he became exhausted, discouraged, and overwhelmed.
What did God do?
Before giving Elijah another major assignment, God allowed him to sleep and eat.
This is powerful.
Sometimes what you call a spiritual attack may also involve physical exhaustion.
You cannot always solve tiredness with another prayer meeting.
Sometimes you need to rest.
Remember:
Rest is not laziness.
Rest can be an act of stewardship.
Even Jesus told His disciples:
> “Come ye yourselves apart... and rest a while.” — Mark 6:31
3. BALANCE MINISTRY, FAMILY, WORK, AND RELATIONSHIPS
One of the easiest ways to become unbalanced is to become so committed to public responsibilities that you neglect private responsibilities.
1 Timothy 5:8
Scripture emphasizes the responsibility of caring for one's household.
Your family should not receive only the leftover portion of your time, energy, attention, and affection.
There are ministers who are available to everybody except their own children.
There are people who can answer every church member's phone call but cannot sit down and listen to their spouse.
That is not balance.
Consider Moses.
Moses was carrying the burden of judging the people from morning until evening.
Jethro saw the problem and said:
> “The thing that thou doest is not good.” — Exodus 18:17
Moses needed delegation.
Why?
Because you can be doing a good thing in a bad way.
Not every good responsibility is your personal responsibility.
Sometimes balance requires you to say:
“I cannot do everything.”
You must learn to delegate, prioritize, and establish healthy boundaries.
4. BALANCE WORK AND REST
Ecclesiastes 3:1
> “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.”
There is a time to work.
There is a time to rest.
There is a time to speak.
There is a time to be silent.
There is a time to sow.
There is a time to harvest.
The problem is that many people try to live every season at the same time.
You cannot be everywhere.
You cannot answer every call.
You cannot attend every event.
You cannot solve every problem.
You cannot please everybody.
And you cannot carry every burden.
Balance requires discernment.
Ask:
“Lord, what is my assignment for this season?”
When you know your assignment, you can say yes to what matters and no to what distracts you.
5. BALANCE YOUR DIGITAL LIFE
This is especially important for young Christians.
Technology is useful, but anything that controls your attention can eventually influence your heart.
Psalm 101:3
> “I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes.

Ask yourself:

How much time do I spend with God?
How much time do I spend on social media?
How much time do I spend reading God's Word?
How much time do I spend scrolling?
How much time do I spend talking to my family?
How much time do I spend consuming content that adds nothing to my spiritual life?

Your phone should be a tool, not your master.
You should be able to put it down without feeling like you are losing yourself.
Remember:
Whatever continually captures your attention can eventually shape your affection.
Guard your attention.
Guard your eyes.
Guard your mind.
Guard your heart.

📖 BIBLICAL CASE STUDY:

JESUS CHRIST

If we want the clearest picture of a balanced life, look at Jesus.
Luke 2:52
> “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.”
Jesus developed in four dimensions:
1. Wisdom — Mental growth
He developed understanding and knowledge.
2. Stature — Physical growth
He grew physically.
3. Favour with God — Spiritual growth
His relationship with the Father was central.
4. Favour with man — Relational growth
He developed healthy relationships with people.
This teaches us something profound:
God is interested in the whole person.
He doesn't only want your spirit.
He cares about your mind.
He cares about your body.
He cares about your relationships.
He cares about your work.
He cares about your character.
He cares about how you use your time.

🧭 PRACTICAL ACTION STEPS FOR A BALANCED LIFE

1. Create a daily time with God
Read Scripture, pray, worship, and listen to God.
2. Schedule your priorities
Don't simply react to everything that happens around you.
3. Learn to say NO
A holy NO can protect a God-given YES.
4. Take care of your body
Get adequate rest, exercise appropriately, and develop healthy habits.
5. Give your family quality time
Don't only provide money. Provide presence.
6. Control your digital consumption
Set boundaries around social media and entertainment.
7. Build healthy relationships
Don't isolate yourself.
8. Learn to rest without guilt
You are not God. The world will continue when you sleep.
9. Review your life regularly
Ask yourself:
“What area of my life is growing, and what area is being neglected?”
10. Keep Christ at the center
Balance without God can simply become organized living.
Biblical balance is Christ-centered living.

🔥 DEEP SPIRITUAL INSIGHTS

1. Balance is not equality; it is proper priority.
Not everything deserves equal time.
God deserves first place.
Family deserves attention.
Work deserves diligence.
Your body deserves care.
Your calling deserves commitment.
Wisdom knows where each thing belongs.
2. You can be busy and still be unfruitful.
Activity is not the same as productivity.
Jesus was busy, but He was never controlled by people's demands.
3. Saying NO can be spiritual.
Jesus did not heal every sick person in the world.
He did not preach in every city.
He did not respond to every demand.
He knew His assignment.
4. Your greatest responsibility is not to impress people but to fulfill God's purpose.
People may applaud your public success while God is looking at your private obedience.
5. A balanced life protects your destiny.
Burnout can affect your health.

11. What is God asking me to prioritize in this season?

1. Prayer for wisdom
Father, give me wisdom to properly order every area of my life, in Jesus' name.

Lord, help me never to become so busy with life that I neglect my relationship with You.

Lord, teach me to properly care for the body You have entrusted to me.

Don't become so concerned about being available to everyone that you become unavailable to God.

Today, God is calling you back to balance.
Put God first.
Love your family.
Take care of your body.
Work diligently.
Rest properly.
Manage your time.
Guard your mind.
Control your technology.
Know your assignment.
And remember the pattern of Jesus:
> “And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.” — Luke 2:52
Don't merely seek a successful life. Seek a God-ordered life.
Because the greatest success is not having everything.
The greatest success is having what matters most in its proper place.

I declare that my life will not be controlled by confusion, pressure, or unnecessary distractions. I receive wisdom to balance my spiritual life, family, health, work, relationships, finances, and responsibilities. I will not lose what matters while pursuing what does not. I will walk in divine order. I will fulfill my God-given assignment. My life will bring glory to God, bless my family, and become a testimony to others. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen!
