Escape for Your Life

The city of Subebe was beautiful, busy, and prosperous. People laughed, traded in the markets, and enjoyed life without giving much thought to danger. Yet hidden beneath the city's glitter was a growing corruption. Violence, greed, and wickedness had become normal.

Among the people lived a young man named Datiyl. Though surrounded by evil influences, he loved God and desired to live a righteous life. One night, after praying, he had a dream. In the dream, a messenger stood before him and cried, “Escape for your life! Do not stay in this place, for destruction is coming.”

Datiyl woke up trembling. He knew the dream was a warning from God. The next morning, he shared it with his friends, but they laughed at him. “Nothing will happen,” they said. “You worry too much.”

Despite their mockery, Datiyl obeyed. He left the city and traveled toward the hills. Then arrived Sunshine city safely.

Weeks later the news was every where. Dark clouds gathered, and a terrible disaster struck Subebe. The city that had seemed so secure was suddenly destroyed.

Standing on the hillside, Datyil thanked God for His mercy. He realized that obedience had saved his life.

Though leaving had been difficult, listening to God's warning had brought him safety.

From that day forward, Datiyl told everyone he met, “When God says, ‘Escape for your life,’ do not delay. Obedience is the pathway to safety.”

ETHAN'S EFFORT

Ethan had always believed success belonged to the fastest, strongest, and smartest people.

So he worked tirelessly.
He woke before dawn, pushed himself endlessly, and trusted completely in his own effort.

Whenever others spoke about God’s mercy, Ethan quietly thought,
“People succeed because they work hard, not because of mercy.”
But life soon taught him differently.

After years of striving, the promotion he expected was given to someone else. The business he invested in did not yield profit as expected. Doors he thought would surely open remained shut.

For the first time in his life, Ethan felt helpless.

One evening, discouraged and exhausted, he visited a friend who lived not too far from him. He was a believer known for his godly counsel.

As they spoke, the opened his Bible to Romans 9:16 and read softly:

“So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that showeth mercy.”

Ethan frowned thoughtfully.

The young man smiled gently, patted Ethan's shoulder and said,

“Effort is important, but effort alone cannot replace God’s mercy.

Many run, yet only those helped by God truly stand.”

That night, Ethan could not sleep.
He began remembering moments in his life where unseen mercy had preserved him; accidents he escaped, opportunities that came unexpectedly, people who helped him at critical times.

He realized that even his strength to work had been a gift from God.

Slowly, his pride melted from his heart.

From then on, Ethan still worked diligently, but with a different understanding.

He prayed before making decisions. He depended on God instead of merely depending on himself.

Months later, a new opportunities to invest came and he knew this was God's mercy.

This time, Ethan bowed his head and whispered:
“Lord, I now understand. It is not merely by strength but by Your mercy, thank you Jesus.”

And he learned that while hard work matters, it is the mercy of God that truly carries a man farther than his own strength ever can.

THE GREATEST GIFT

Miriam sat quietly in the hospital corridor, holding tightly to a Bible that had become worn from years of reading.

Her eyes were filled with worry.

Her husband had lost his job and the new job was not providing much. Their savings were almost gone, and now their little son was needed his fees paid. And she was sick.

Everything seemed to be falling apart at once.

That evening, while waiting for the doctor, fear whispered loudly into her heart:
“If God truly loves you, why are you suffering like this?”
"You pray so much but see how your life is turning."

Miriam lowered her head. For a moment, tears rolled down her cheeks.

Then she slowly opened her Bible and her eyes fell on Epistle to the Romans 8:32:
“He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?”

She read it again and again.

Suddenly, something changed inside her.
She realized that God had already given the greatest gift Heaven could offer—His Son. If God did not withhold Jesus, then surely He would not abandon her now.

The situation around her had not changed immediately, but her heart did.

Fear slowly gave way to faith.
That night, Miriam prayed differently.
Not with panic, but with confidence.

“Lord, if You loved me enough to give Jesus for me, then I know You will carry me through this season.”

Days later, help began to come unexpectedly. A family friend assisted with medical bills. Her husband found a better job. Most importantly, their son fee was gradually paid.

Months afterward, she recovered from her ailment completely.

Miriam would often tell others:
“When life becomes heavy, remember this: the cross is proof that God will never withhold what is truly needed for His children.

"The One who gave Jesus will surely give grace for every battle.”

And from then on, whenever fear returned, she answered it with one simple truth:
If God gave the greatest gift, He will not fail in the smaller ones.

The Promise Beyond Time

In a quiet village lived an old man and his wife. They had walked together for many years, and though their home was filled with love, one sorrow remained with them constantly—they had no child.

Many times they prayed. Many times they waited.

One evening, while the old man sat alone outside watching the fading sunset, the Lord spoke gently into his heart:
“You shall yet become a father, and your descendants shall be many.”

The words were powerful, but they sounded impossible.

The man lowered his head and sighed. His body had grown weak with age, and his wife had long passed the years of childbearing.
Yet deep within him, something refused to die.
Faith.

Days turned into months. Months became years.
Neighbors whispered among themselves whenever they saw the old couple.

“Why does he still hope?”
“Time has already passed.”
“Some promises are too late.”

At times, the old woman herself became weary.
One cold night she sat beside the fire and said softly,
“Perhaps we misunderstood God.”

The old man was silent for a moment. Then he replied:
“No. If the One who promised is faithful, then delay cannot cancel His word.”

Though doubts knocked often at his mind, he chose daily to trust what God had spoken instead of what circumstances shouted.

There were days he walked through the fields alone, speaking to himself:
“My body may be weak, but God is strong. Time may have passed, but His power has not faded.”

People laughed at his confidence, yet he continued believing.

Then one morning, after years of waiting, the impossible happened.

The old woman called out from inside the house with tears of joy streaming down her face.
The promise had finally come. She was pregnant.

Their small home, once silent with sorrow, became filled with laughter and songs of thanksgiving.

The villagers were astonished.
Some said, “How can this be?”
Others whispered, “Surely God has visited them.”

Then the delivery day came.
They were triplets.

The old man held one of the children carefully in his trembling arms and looked toward heaven with grateful eyes.

At that moment, he understood something greater than the miracle itself:
Faith is not proven when answers come quickly.
Faith is proven when a person continues believing after many seasons of waiting.

And so the couple learned that God’s promises may travel slowly, but they never fail to arrive.

Hallelujah😊

Stormy, Yet Kept.
A short story (Part Three)

Then came another surprise.
In Acts 28, after Paul escaped the sea, a viper fastened itself onto his hand. Even after surviving the storm, another attack appeared immediately.

Caleb understood then that believers are sometimes tested by not only stormy waves but also serpents on shore.

One morning, after enduring months of hardship, Caleb received terrible news about a business investment he had trusted. It felt like the bite of that serpent.

People expected him to collapse emotionally and abandon his faith.
But Caleb remembered Paul.
Paul shook the serpent into the fire and continued unharmed.

Instead of surrendering to bitterness, Caleb carried his pain to God. He refused to allow the poison of anger, fear, or unbelief to remain in his heart.

Slowly, things began to change.
Doors opened unexpectedly. New relationships came into his life. His faith grew stronger than it had ever been during peaceful days. The storms had not destroyed him; they had deepened his faith in Jesus.

Years later, Caleb would tell younger believers:
“ God rules the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, God stillest them. Psalm 89:9. The Lord is nearest when the winds are loudest. The ship may break, but if God has spoken over your life, you will reach the shore.”

And indeed, Caleb learned what every true believer must eventually discover:
A tempestuous life does not mean an abandoned life.
God still guides through storms, preserves through shipwrecks, and gives victory even after the serpent’s bite.

I hope you were blessed by the short story.

Stormy, Yet Kept
A Short story( Part Two)

Paul stood with calm assurance and declared that though the ship would break, not a single life would perish.

Caleb paused and thought deeply.
The storm did not mean God had abandoned them. The storm became the very stage upon which God revealed His preservation.

As days passed, Caleb held onto that truth. He continued praying, continued serving, continued believing even when life looked broken.

Like the shattered ship in Acts 27, some of his plans fell apart. Dreams he carefully built collapsed into pieces.
But he survived.

Stormy, Yet Kept.
A short story (part one)

The sky had been calm when Caleb began his journey.
He had given his life to Christ only a few years earlier, and he believed that once he surrendered to God, life would become smooth and easy. But he soon discovered that the road of faith was not always quiet waters.

Like Paul in Acts of the Apostles chapters 27 and 28, Caleb found himself in a tempestuous season.
One trouble rose after another.

He lost his job unexpectedly. Friends who once stood beside him disappeared when hardship came. Family members mocked his faith and called him foolish for trusting God so completely. The more he prayed, the fiercer the winds seemed to blow.

At times, Caleb wondered, “If God is with me, why is my life filled with storms?”
One night, after many disappointments, he sat alone with his Bible open to the story of Paul’s voyage. The ship carrying Paul had been beaten by violent winds. The sailors threw their cargo into the sea. Darkness covered them for many days. All hope of survival seemed lost.
Yet in the middle of the storm, God spoke.
