This Morning’s Story Broke My Heart

I woke up today to a story that shook me. Someone suggested to a parent that they should unalive their child because the child has a disability.

Let that sink in. In 2025, people still believe that a child with a disability does not deserve to live.

Now let me share something personal: In my entire family on both sides, there is no history of disability. Yet here I am, the only one with a disability. That tells you one thing: disability can happen to anyone, at any time.

Imagine if someone told my parents to “unalive” me when I acquired disability. Would I be here speaking to you today? NO!!!!!
Imagine if the father of that child had been “unalifed” because someone thought his life had no value, would he have grown, married, and had that child?

Life is precious. Disability does not erase that truth.

Stop giving parents such harmful advice. Instead, give them support, understanding, and hope.

Because here is the reality: Disability is not a respecter of anyone. You could acquire one tomorrow through an accident, illness, or even old age.

LIVE and let's LIVE. Every child deserves a chance to live their story.
