Tomato leaf curl is usually caused by a virus called Tomato Leaf Curl Virus, and the main culprit spreading it is the tiny insect Whitefly. So if you want to stop it, you don’t just treat the plant—you control the insect and protect healthy plants.
What leaf curl looks like
Leaves curl upward and become thick
Yellowing of leaves
Plant becomes stunted (doesn’t grow well)
Very low fruit production
The truth first (important)
Once a plant is already infected with the virus, you cannot cure it.
What you can do is:
Stop it from spreading
Protect the remaining healthy plants
What you should do immediately
1. Remove badly infected plants
Uproot and destroy them (don’t compost)
This prevents spread to healthy tomatoes
2. Control whiteflies (MOST IMPORTANT)
You can use:
