According to this young man, he and his girlfriend were together for five years

They shared dreams, made promises and planned a future together
Believing completely in her success, he said he made one of the biggest sacrifices of his life by dropping out of University of Lagos to support and sponsor her studies in the UK

To him, her success was their success
He reportedly worked hard, supported her emotionally and financially and kept believing distance would never break what they had

But after she settled in the UK, things allegedly began to change slowly
The calls reduced
The messages became cold

Then one day, he reportedly discovered through her younger sister that she had married another man overseas without informing him

And this is where I always say some parents genuinely confuse discipline with cruelty

Because how do you look at a child your own child, see wounds and pa!n on his body and still believe that is the right way to correct him?

Homework is important, Yes
Training children is important too

But fear, brutality and physical t0rture are not the same thing as parenting
Sometimes adults forget that children are human beings too
They feel pa!n
They remember trauma
And some scars don’t disappear even after the wounds heal physically

One thing many people don’t realize is this

A chi|d who constantly grows up under vio|ence may not necessarily become “better behaved”
Sometimes they simply become fearful, withdrawn, emotionally damaged or even aggressive later in life

And honestly, the pa!nful part is that many children suffering things like this cannot even speak out because the same people hurting them are the ones supposed to protect them

Parents please
Correction should never look like destrvction

There is a difference between discipline and w!ckedness
If truly you love a chi|d, there are certain injvries you should never be comfortable inflicting on them
