The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has announced the commencement of full-scale enforcement of the Tinted Glass Permit (TGP) across the country, effective Thursday, October 2, 2025. The directive follows instructions issued by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun.

According to the Force, the exercise is in strict adherence to the provisions of the Motor Vehicles (Prohibition of Tinted Glass) Act, 2004, which serves as a critical security framework aimed at reducing crime and safeguarding the public.

The Police further disclosed that the grace period earlier granted for the processing and renewal of permits has lapsed. Consequently, motorists whose vehicles are fitted with tinted glasses are now required to provide valid TGPs when stopped for routine checks, or risk facing appropriate sanctions.

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has announced the full restoration of night flight services at the Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo.

According to the Governor, the Ibom Airport Development Company successfully completed the overhaul of navigational aids and airfield lighting systems by the September 30 deadline he set last week.

He commended the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), the Airport Companyโ€™s MD/CEO, and its Board for their commitment to ensuring the upgrade was delivered on time.

โ€œWith this milestone, Ibom Air and other airlines can now operate seamlessly both day and night,โ€ Governor Eno stated.

He further noted that the restoration of night flights represents another bold step towards positioning Akwa Ibom State as Nigeriaโ€™s leading tourism hub, especially as the state prepares for the commissioning of ARISE Resorts and other landmark projects in the aviation and tourism sectors.

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), at its meeting held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, exercised its constitutional powers (as amended in 2017) to dissolve the Akwa Ibom State Executive Committee of the Party.

The Federal Government has reiterated that every form of income generated within Nigeria is taxable, regardless of the source.

This was disclosed by Taiwo Oyedele, Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, during a tax education session that has since gone viral.

According to him, once a payment is made for any service or product, the law mandates taxation, irrespective of the legality or otherwise of the activity.

He explained that even earnings from sยฃx work, commonly referred to as โ€œruns girls,โ€ fall within the taxable bracket as they constitute income derived from the provision of services.

The Chairman of Mbo Local Government Area, Hon. Sunday Etim, JP, has delivered on his promise by completing the renovation of the Mbo Sports Stadium in Enwang within two weeks.
